    The purpose of this study is to analyze the character of the peaceful love of students in science learning in SMP Negeri 17 Kota Jambi. The method applied in this study is quantitative analysis research methods. This research is also descriptive research that describes the existing conditions in reality. In this study, the primary data is data relating to peace-loving attitudes. The data was obtained by distributing questionnaires. The method used is a closed questionnaire. The subjects of this study were 32 students of class VIII B and 35 students of class VIII C. The results of this study indicated that from all the statements that have been provided by SMP Negeri 17 Jambi successfully cultivate character values in the school including one of them is peace-loving attitude

    Profil Literasi Sains Siswa di SMP Negeri Perkotaan dan Pedesaan : Profile of Student's Scientific Literacy in Urban and Rural State Middle Schools

    This study purposes to describe the profile of scientific literacy of students in urban and rural State Junior High Schools. In urban areas, this study was conducted in SMP Negeri 3 Sidoarjo and in rural areas, the study was in SMP Negeri 2 Jabon. The subjects of this study were 2 students of VIII grade from each SMP Negeri 3 Sidoarjo and SMP Negeri 2 Jabon. In this study using qualitative methods, data was collected using tests, interviews, and observations. This scientific literacy test was adapted from the 2013 Pan-Canadian Assessment Program (PCAP) because students were in VIII grade. The results showed that students in urban schools had scientific literacy on problem solving indicators reaching levels 4 and 3, scientific inquiry indicators reached levels 3 and 2, and indicators of scientific reasoning reached level 3. Meanwhile, students in rural schools had scientific literacy at level 2 and 1 on indicators of problem solving, scientific inquiry indicators reach level 2 and 1, and scientific reasoning reaches level 3 and 2

    The purpose of this study was to describe the relationship between the ability of students in science subjects on aspects manners in SMP Negeri 3 Jambi. The method used in this research is descriptive method, where research is conducted to find out the value of variables independently, either one or more variables without making comparisons, or connecting with other variables. In this study, there were 50 respondents consisting of 25 students of class VII A and 25 students of class VII B. The instrument used was a questionnaire. The results showed that students in the class VII A has politeness in the high category, while students in grade VIII B has a politeness in the low category

    The purpose of this study was to analyze students' critical thinking skills through the application of learning cycle type 7E at SMPN 1 Krembung. This research is a quan- titative research type of quasi-experiment with one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected using pretest and posttest to measure students' critical thinking skills with critical thinking indicators from Robert H. Ennis. Data were then analyzed using N-Gain to determine the improvement of students' critical thinking skills. The results showed that the indicator of critical thinking skills "determines actions" gained the highest N-gain score of 0.8 and the lowest N-gain value is the "focus question" indicator of 0.167

    This study purposed to improve student learning outcomes in understanding vector material using physics learning media that involve intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence. The results showed that more than 70% of students completed with completeness between70.42 - 97.18 in vector material. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the Physics learning media involving intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence can be used as an alternative learning for students at Plumpang High School

    Pengembangan Buku Dongeng Berbasis Sainsmatika untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif dan Karakter Bersahabat : Development of Science-Based Fairy Tales Book to Improve Creative Thinking Ability and Friendly Characters

    This research aims to develop an instructional material to improve students' creative thinking and friendliness. This study was developmental research applying the R&D model of Borg & Gall. The subjects were 124 fourth grade students in Yogyakarta Special Region, Gunungkidul. The data collected through interviews, tests, observations, and questionnaires. The appropriateness of the sainsmatika-based fairy tale book was ana- lyzed qualitatively and the effectiveness of it analyzed using a one-way MANOVA test at the significance level of 5%. The findings were as follows: (1) the appropriateness of the sainsmatika-based story tale book gets good category scores for the mathematical content aspect and very good category scores for the science content, media and lan- guage aspect also get very good category score from student-teacher responses. (2) The score of the effectiveness test using one-way MANOVA is 0,000<0.05. Therefore, sainsmatika-based story tale book is able to improve students' creative thinking skills and friendliness

    The purpose of this study is to examine the validity of Natural Science teaching materials for fifth grade of elementary school. The development of this teaching material focused on "Human digestive devices, food and health'' material. The product developed was teaching material based on 7E Learning Cycle learning model (LC7E teaching material). The validity measurements were done by technique of expert validity and content validity. Teaching materials are legitimate if they reach "good" and "very good" categories. The level of validity of LC7E teaching material is on the valid criteria with an average score of 3.8 and a 95% success. The result of the content validity of the 24 questions given by the data obtained an average of r count of 0.575 > r table 0, 514. With that results, the teaching material developed is declared valid

    The aims of the Research are to difference of learning result and ability of critical thinking before and after treatment (treatment). Methods used with pretest and posttest for learning outcomes; questionnaires for students' critical thinking skills. Data analysis technique used reliability test, normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test of t one party test. The result of data analysis shows: 1) Based on pre test result, initial condition of student before using cooperative learning model type Teams Assisted Individualization experimental class 74,9 and control class 75,3 medium category. 2) end ability test to train students critical thinking ability show result tcount> ttable or 3,934> 1,684 (significance level 5%) means there is influence of cooperative learning model type Teams Assisted Individualization. 3) There is difference of critical thinking ability of class VIIA student with VIIB Junior High School Ma'arif Mlandi for 77 for experiment class and 75 control class and critical thinking ability equal to 79,6 with high category. 4) There was an increase in learning outcomes before and after the treatment of cooperative learning model type Teams Assisted Individualization of 74.9 to 7

    Analisis Minat Belajar Mahasiswa Terhadap Penggunaan Alat Peraga Neraca Cavendish: Analysis of Student Interest in Using Cavendish Balance Sheet

    The aims of this research are to identify student’s interest in the Cavendish Balance of Aids in physics learning. This research uses Design One Group Pretest-Posttest; Samples used are class D semester I Mathematics Education academic year 2015/2016 of 30 students, Instrument Questionnaire in this study using a questionnaire of student interest. The results showed the use of a aids in the learning of physics effect in to assist students in understanding the material being taught. In addition, the students' interest in learning also improved with the application of visual aids, it can be seen from 96.7% of students stated strongly agree and agree on the statement While 3.3% of students feel disagree with the statement, it is also supported on the value of tcalculate more bigger than ttable with ttable = 2,042 with tcalculate = 20,477. It can be concluded that there is a significant improvement in learning outcomes on the used Cavendish balance of aids so that students' interest in learning becomes better

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan modul fisika berbasis problem based learning pada topik keseimbangan dan dinamika rotasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah fisika siswa SMA dan mengetahui bagaimana kelayakannya serta respon siswa terhadap modul tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Prosedur penelitian yang digunakan memanfaatkan modifikasi dari langkah-langkah penelitian yang dikemukakan oleh Borg & Gall. Hasil penelitian ini, yaitu sebuah modul fisika berbasis PBL pada topik keseimbangan dan dinamika rotasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah fisika siswa SMA. Kelayakan modul pembelajaran fisika berbasis PBL menurut ahli materi, ahli media dan guru fisika SMA untuk komponen isi, penyajian dan bahasa memiliki kriteria sangat valid dengan presentase masing-masing sebesar 94,8%, 95%, dan 88,5%. Respon siswa terhadap modul fisika berbasis PBL pada uji coba terbatas diperoleh presentase sebesar 91% dan 91,25% pada komponen isi dan tampilan modul
