Profile of Basic and Integrated Science Process Skills in Science Learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri : Profil Keterampilan Proses Sains Dasar dan Terintegrasi dalam Pembelajaran IPA di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri
Science process skills underlie every student's activity in learning science at school and its application in technology and problem-solving. However, these skills are not trained enough in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN). Therefore, the purpose of this study was to describe the profile of basic and integrated science process skills in MIN students. This research is a quantitative and qualitative descriptive study, where 79 students from 4 MINs in Hulu Sungai Utara were involved in working on a science process skills test instrument adapted from Suja (2010). The results showed the achievement of students' basic science process skills including measuring, questioning, communication, predicting, classifying, inferring, and observation; as well as the achievement of integrated science process skills including formulating hypotheses, planning experiments, interpreting data, and applying concepts with the lowest being 5.3% (hypothesizing) and the highest being 51.8% (measuring). Therefore; The profile of students' basic and integrated science process skills is still not good. Considering scientific process skills as the basic foundation in learning science, educators need to cultivate these skills in learning scientific concepts and their application in solving real life problems
The Potential Bryophyta Diversity On Riverside Susup As Science Teaching Materials For SMP: Potensi Keanekaragaman Bryophyta Di Bantaran Sungai Susup Sebagai Bahan Ajar IPA Untuk Siswa SMP
The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of bryophyta on the riverside Susup as learning material in the form of Learning Unit Books (BUP). The research method used is Research and Development which is limited to needs analysis and BUP design. Moss plant diversity samples were obtained using a purposive sampling technique. Found 10 families, 13 types of species and 80 total bryophyta colonies on the banks of the river. The diversity index (H') ranges from 1.474 - 1.911 which includes the medium category, the evenness index (E) ranges from 0.822 - 0.940 which includes the high category and the dominance index (C) ranges from 0.1550 - 0.3056 which includes the low category. These findings are then used as teaching materials for designing BUP for SMP
Descriptions of Scientific Literacy Skills of 9th Grade of Secondary School Students on Human Excretory System
This study is a quantitative descriptive survey research that aims to describe the level of scientific literacy skills of ninth-grade of secondary school students’ in Angkona sub-district accredicted A and B for 2021/2022 academic year in terms of context, knowledge, and scientific competence on human excretory system topics. Population of this study were all ninth grade of secondary school students accredicted A and B throughout in Angkona sub-district with 252 students, namely SMPN A which was accredicted A; and SMPN B, C, and D were accredicted B. Samples were selected using saturated sample technique so that the samples in this research were 252 students. The instrument of this research was 20 multiple choice questions on human excretory system topics. The data collection technique was by giving tests directly at school and/or giving online test for students who did not come to school via Google Form and/or WhatsApp. The data were analyzed using analysis of quantitative descriptive. The results obtained are the scientific literacy skills of ninth-grade of secondary school students in Angkona sub-district: (1) in the context of science is in “medium”, (2) knowledge of science is in the “medium”, and (3) competence of science is in the “low” category
A Review Analysis: Implementation of STEAM Project Based Learning in Natural Science Learning: Analisis Tinjauan: Penerapan Pembelajaran berbasis Proyek STEAM dalam Pembelajaran IPA
The development of technology 4.0 and social 5.0 has a considerable influence on educational change. Education in the 21st century requires students to have the competencies needed to face the challenges of the times. One of the efforts made is with a learning model that can develop these abilities, namely STEAM-PjBL. The purpose of this research is to analyze implementation trends of STEAM-PjBL in science learning from elementary school level to university level. This research is a literature study by collecting 19 articles. This study adopted the review process by Sharif (2019), by 1) formulating research questions; (2) setting the inclusion criteria (Table 1); (3) search for articles in various databases (Google Scholar, ERIC, DOAJ, journal websites) by typing the keywords “STEAM” “STEAM-PjBL, “STEAM-PjBL in science education” and “science education”; (4) article coding using Paper Classification Form (PCF); (5) identify patterns across articles; (6) synthesize these patterns to answer the research question. The results obtained The implementation of STEAM-PjBL research in science learning has a very good contribution in growing and improving the skills needed by students in facing the challenges of the 21st century. Learning in the current condition, which is still a COVID-19 pandemic, can be an option for schools and teachers to implement STEAM-PjBL so that they can realize the learning goals to be achieved
The Effect Of Discovery Models With Blended Learning Strategies Assisted By Crossword Puzzle Media On Understanding Physics Concepts: Pengaruh Model Discovery dengan Strategi Blended Learning Berbantuan Media Crossword Puzzle terhadap Pemahaman Konsep Fisika
This study aims to see the effect of the application of discovery learning models with blended learning strategies assisted by Crossword Puzzle media on the ability to understand students' physics concepts by choosing. This study used a pre-experimental method with a one-shot case study design consisting of 1 experimental class as a sample class which was carried out at SMP Negeri 1 Botupingge. The data obtained were in the form of understanding students' physics concepts on the material of vibration, waves, and sound which were netted using a multiple-choice test sheet as many as 20 items. The overall research results show that the application of discovery learning models with blended learning strategies assisted by Crossword Puzzle media has a significant effect on students' ability to understand physics concepts which is shown by proving the hypothesis test that the value of t table> t count which states that the lowest student learning outcomes are 75, where from the total sample of 69 respondents, 82.61% or 57 respondents scored above 75
The Analysis of Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) at Natural Science Teachers in SMP Negeri 4 Sidoarjo: Analisis Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) Guru IPA di SMP Negeri 4 Sidoarjo
This study aims to analyze (1) Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) profile of IPA teachers in teaching science in terms of PCK component in pentagon model (2) constraint of PCK science teacher in teaching science. The PCK component consists of five components including: Component K1 (teaching orientation), K2 (knowledge of Curriculum), K3 (knowledge of students), K4 (knowledge of learning strategy) and K5 (knowledge of assessment). The research is a qualitative with phenomenology approach. The subject of the research was a science teacher at SMPN 4 Sidoarjo. Data collection techniques in this study using documentation, observation and interviews. Data analysis phase using Miles and Huberman model. Test the validity of the data used triangulation technique. Based on the research results revealed PCK teacher profile: K1 component is science learning oriented to develop the cognitive, psychomotor and affective aspects of students by applying constructivism learning theory, K2 component that is understanding the curriculum 2013 and apply it to learning but conducted development on objectives, content and learning materials, K3 component: identify that students do not experience misconception and in managing the classroom asking the students who have the advantage to help other students, K4 component is applying discovery learning model with scientific approach 5M (observing, asking, collecting data, associating and creating), K5 component is the assessment of the students covering 3 aspects (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) with assessment methods of quetion and observation, and teachers do not experience PCK constraints in teaching Water Pollution Material. In the next research is expected to reveal three other teacher competencies.
 
The Validity of the Vibrations, Waves, and Sounds - Related Guided Inquiry Learning Material Assisted by Google Sites: Validitas Perangkat Pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing Berbantuan Google Sites pada Materi Getaran, Gelombang, dan Bunyi
This study aims to describe the validity of the vibration, waves, and sounds – related guided inquiry learning material assisted by Google sites. This type of research is quantitative research with a descriptive approach that is focused on the validation test process through expert validation tests. The instrument used in this research is the expert validation sheet. The learning material validated in this study include lesson plans, student worksheets, teaching materials, learning media and learning outcomes tests. The results of lesson plans validation by experts obtained an average score of 3.3 (valid). For the validation of the student worksheets, the average score is 3.1 (valid). The validation of teaching materials obtained an average score of 3.4 (valid). The validation of learning media obtained an average score of 3.4 (valid). And the learning outcomes test obtained validation results with an average score of 3.2 (valid). From these results, the overall average value of the validation of learning tools is 3.3 and is included in the valid category. So it can be concluded that the guided inquiry learning material assisted by Google sites on the material of vibration, waves, and sound developed is feasible to be used in the learning process
The Impact of Online Education System at Student's and Teacher's During Covid-19 Pandemic in Pakistan
This study aims to describe the impact of the online education system on students and teachers during the covid-19 pandemic in Pakistan. The research method uses qualitative research, namely literature studies by examining the results of previous research related to the implementation of the existing education system in Pakistan. There are several research results to be studied, which provide a description of policies in the implementation of education during the covid-19 pandemic in Pakistan. Data analysis techniques use descriptive qualitative analysis, with reference to Miles & Hubberman's analysis, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the online education system during the covid-19 pandemic in Pakistan, includes 1) learning that was temporarily interrupted due to the lack of technology actually provides challenges in solving problems faced by both teachers and students, 2) the readiness of online learning is expected to run effectively if there are clear guidelines / procedures, learning planning, self-efficacy and internal motivation, access services, especially online libraries, online communication, and significant online connectivity, 3) the Covid-19 pandemic is used as a challenge in the world of education to continue to provide maximum service in the midst of a crisis because education is closely related to the quality of human resources, and 4) Teachers can develop pedagogical innovations to fit the requirements of online learning where bringing conventional classes online. this study will help policymakers and the Ministry of Education in Pakistan to focus more on human resource development, interpersonal development, communication and technology management training, and support programs, especially for school teachers as the foundation of the next and future generations
Development of E-Modules to Improve Scientific Explanation Ability of Students in Science Learning on Digestive System Materials: Pengembangan E-Modul untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Scientific Explanation Siswa pada Pembelajaran IPA Materi Sistem Pencernaan
The purpose of this research is to produce a valid, practical, and effective science e-module for the digestive system material to improve the scientific explanation skills of junior high school students. This research is development research that uses the ADDIE development model. Data collection techniques in this study include interviews, validation sheets, observation sheets on the implementation of learning, tests, and student response questionnaires. The data obtained was then analyzed to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the e-module product. The results of the research are valid, practical, and effective product development so that the product in question is feasible to use. The results of product validation show that e-modules are included in the very valid category with a validation value of 92.5%, which means their assessment is seen from two aspects, namely content validity and construct validity. This product is included in the very practical category based on its practicality value of 93.56%. This product is also included in the effective criteria, which is seen based on the test results with an n-gain value of 0.60 and the results of the student response questionnaire of 88.97%, which is included in the very good criteria. Thus, the developed e-module product can be said to be feasible to improve the scientific explanation skills of junior high school students in science learning
The Analysis Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) of Natural Science Secondary School Teachers' Based on School Accreditation: Analisis Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) Guru IPA SMP Berdasarkan Akreditasi Sekolah
This study aims to determine the ability of natural science secondary school teachers’ to use information and communication technology to assist the learning process (Technological Knowledge), the ability of natural science secondary school teachers’ to manage classes (Pedagogical Knowledge), and the ability of natural science secondary school teachers’ to mastery learning (Content Knowledge). This research is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects were a natural science teachers’ at SMP Negeri 1 Prambon who was accredited A and a natural science teachers’ at SMP Perjuangan Prambon who was accredited B. Data collection techniques in this study used documentation, observation and interviews. The data analysis phase uses the Miles and Huberman model. Test the validity of the data using technical triangulation. Based on the research results, it was revealed that the ability of natural science secondary school teachers’ in mastering information and communication technology (Technological Knowledge) is quite good. Teachers at schools accredited A and B are quite good at operating Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point. Teachers at schools accredited A are not good at operating Microsoft Excel, while teachers at schools accredited B are not very good at operating Microsoft Excel. The ability of secondary school natural science teachers’ at accredited A schools to manage classes (Pedagogical Knowledge) is very good, while the ability of natural science secondary school teachers’ at schools accredited B is quite good. The ability of natural science secondary school teachers’ in schools accredited A is very good in mastering the subject matter they teach (Content Knowledge), while the ability of natural science teachers in schools accredited B is quite good. In future research it is expected to be able to uncover the TPACK of science teachers based on the length of time the teacher has been teaching or the other factor
