Insan Kamil dalam Perspektif Syaikh Abd al-Karim al-Jili
The study of Insan Kamil (the perfect man) is one of the important themes in the world of Sufism. One of the evidence that could be peculiarly noted is the written books of Sufism. Of those books that specifically concern into this theme is Abd al-Karim al-Jili with his prominent work Al-Insan Al-Kamil fi Ma'rifat al-Awakhir wa al-Awa'il. In his text, the outlook of Insan Kamil is different from the other studies, such as in the works of Ibn 'Arabi, Al-Hallaj, Al-Suhrawardi, and At-Tirmidhi. Although Al-Jili is not a pioneer of the study of Insan Kamil, his concept, which is different from its predecessors, is more comprehensive. As a comparative study of predecessor notion, the work of Ibn 'Arabi is taken as an example of Al-Jili modification. Based on the simple and brief readings, it can be found that the concept of Insan Kamil initiated by al-Jili is a theological notion, and Insan Kamil initiated by Ibn 'Arabi philosophical patterned
Relevansi dan Kontinuitas Pemikiran Islam Klasik dalam Intelektualisme Islam Melayu Nusantara
This study aims to determine the relevance and continuity of classical Islamic thought in Nusantara Malay Islamic intellectualism, expected to be useful in adding to the treasures of the study of history and intellectual thought while also contributing to the preservation of scientific traditions in Indonesia. This study uses a type of qualitative research with a library research model with a historical approach. The data collection techniques in the study are heuristic techniques, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study conclude that first, the process of the intellectual tradition of Malay Archipelago Islam is inseparable from the process of transmission and diffusion of Islamic teachings and ideas always involving a kind of "intellectual networks", both those formed among ulama and intellectuals as a whole. Second, the relevance of classical Islamic thought in Nusantara Malay Islamic intellectualism can be seen in the existence of the two largest organizations in Indonesia, the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) whose intellectualism led to the Jabariah sect and Muhammadiyah whose intellectualism was directed towards Muta'zilah. Third, the continuity of classical Islamic thought in Nusantara Malay Islamic intellectualism gave rise to Malay-archipelago modernist thinkers closer to the Mu'tazilah's historical establishment than to the traditionalist historical stance
Harmoni Islam dan Budaya Jawa dalam Tafsir Kitab Suci Al-Qur’an Basa Jawi
This study aims to describe the harmonic modes between Islam dan Javanese culture in Javanese qur’anic commentary. The object material is Tafsir Al-Qur’an Suci Basa Jawi which studied using Gadamer’s hermeneutics. This is the book of tafsir which written based on the idea of Tafsir Anom V. The tafsir then was written, compiled, and publishd by KH. Raden Muhammad Adnan (1889-1969) and his descendants who lived in Keraton Surakarta. The study shows that Tafsir Al-Qur’an Suci Basa Jawi is one of local qur’anic commentaries which strengthen harmonic modes between Islam and Javanese culture. There are three points of Javanese culture in harmony with Islam: the use of respectful language in Javanese, a harmony of Javanese Islamic mysticism and Javanese Islam as a way of wisdom. This is a local qur’anic commentary that harmonize the Javanese local culture with Islam
Penanganan Hoaks Berdasarkan Hukum Adat Aceh
Fraud spread in various social spaces. With the development of information and communication technology, it also accelerates the spread of false news, which must be overcome so that it does not become a serious problem in people's lives. This study wants to answer: (1) how far the hoax known in Aceh's adat law? (2) how is to handle the hoaxes using adat law perspectives in Aceh? This study aims to describe hoax context recognized in adat law in Aceh and analyze how to handle the hoaxes using adat law the perspective in Aceh community. The method used to answer the question of this study is socio-legal. The study found that the hoax is known in Aceh’s adat law. The existence of hoax can be found in the Aceh context, through various terms known locally. Handling the hoaxes is carried out by customary legal mechanisms and uses adat sanctions and is tried by adat institution functionaries. The article concludes that hoaxes are known in the local community which can be solved by traditional methods in the community itself. It is recommended that the settlement of hoaxes especially small cases, can only be used through adat law concept
Rasa Sebagai Prinsip Pertama Ontologi Harmoni dalam Pathet Pergelaran Wayang
This study aims to find and critically analyze the first principle of harmony in the wayang performance’s concept of pathet. The wayang performance’s concept of pathet as a material object which is analyzed from the perspective of the ontology as a formal object. The methodical elements of the study used include interpretation, induction, and deduction, internal coherence, holistic, historical continuity, idealization, comparison, heuristics, inclusive or analogous language, and description. The results of the study indicate that pathet is a concept that has an important position in the performance of wayang. Philosophically, pathet has many function and meaning. First, pathet is a representation of the structure of wayang performances. Second, pathet is the reference to the sound space in musical instruments. Third, pathet is the atmosphere builder or atmosphere of wayang performances. Fourth, pathet is a guide to the mastermind in building the aesthetic of wayang performance. Pathet, in addition, to have a function also consist of philosophical meaning. First, pathet as an aesthetic manifestation in puppet shows. Second, pathet is a symbol of the stages in human life. Third, pathet as a representation of the cosmic cycle. The investigation of pathet from the perspective of ontology yields the following conclusions. First, the concept of pathet is a representation of the concept of harmony in wayang performance. “Rasa†is the first principle of harmony in the wayang performance’s concept of pathet. This “rasa†has a spiritual dimension so that the ontology of harmony, in this case, is spiritualism. The dynamics of harmony moves with the law of “empan papanâ€, towards the ultimate goal of reality, namely the perfection of life. Seksualitas dalam Alquran, Hadis dan Fikih: Mengimbangi Wacana Patriarki
Discussing sexuality is often misunderstood only to be associated with sexual relations. In fact, sexuality is associated not only with biological aspect but also with experiences and expressions of the human being as a sexual agent. It is related to one's thought, feeling, and expression related to being sexual. Sexuality is a social construction that related to norms, values, and behaviors in different context. In Muslim society, sexuality has dual meanings: Sometimes discussing sexuality is appreciated but at the same time is prevented. This article explains sexuality from Islamic perspectives derived from Quran, Hadith, and Jurisprudence (Fiqh). This article shows that sexuality in Muslim society is influenced by cultural norms and religious doctrines. Doctrines derived from Quran, Hadith and Fiqh give significant influence on how people think and act concerning what is permitted and forbidden, appropriate and inappropriate related to being male and female. The explanations on sexuality in the Quran, Hadith, and Fiqh, in fact, appreciate human being as natural sexual being and fulfilling for both sexes. However, in reality, the dominant understandings of those sources are heavily influenced by patriarchal bias

Domestic violence is often understood to refer only to physical abuse. In fact, domestic violence is related to any violence occurred in domestic life that includes: physical, sexual, and psychological violence. It also related to abandonment and threat in domestic life. Many cases of domestic violence are unreported by the victims because they considered domestic violence as a private matter. This article attempts to explore domestic violence in Islamic perspective. This article shows that domestic violence occurred as a result of an asymmetrical relationship between spouses in a marital relationship. To avoid domestic violence, the couple should attempt to build a harmonious relationship (sakinah) based on equality between the spouse
Peran Institusi Keagamaan di Maluku dalam Upaya Pemberantasan Korupsi
It is an anomaly in the life of the Moluccas’ society that the majority of people who committed the criminal act of corruption are considered as religious people. Besides, they are categorized as diligent, obedient and even fanatic adherent of their religions. The act of corruption is an act not only against the law but also against moral and spiritual values. This article explores the role of religious institutions in spreading moral and spiritual values to prevent Molucca’s people from committing corruption.This article used a qualitative method of both: fieldwork and textual study. For fieldwork, in-depth interview and observation are used to gather data from the prisoners, officers, and workers at the prison (Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Klas IIa) in Ambon. All the data are presented using descriptive analysis. The research shows that the role, function, and accountability of religious institutions in the Moluccas are very weak in preventing and eradicating the criminal act of corruption among the prisoners and the police officers, prosecutors, judges, lawyers, and journalists who played along the criminal act of corruption. Those acts have violated their commitment to stand for justice for all people
Tafsir Kontemporer: Metodologi, Paradigma dan Standar Validitasnya
Feminist exegesis (tafsir) is a unique genre emerges in contemporary era when gender issue become a global concern. The paradigm of this tafsir started from the asumpsion that the Qur’anic principle of male-female relationship should be based on justice (al-‘adalah), equality (al-musawah), appropriateness (al-ma’ruf), and conssensus (syura). Thus, any exegesis produced in classical period which violate all those principles are considered unacceptable, especially in relation to the current situation which differ from that of previous time. Feminist tafsir employs gender analisys as a tool to differentiate between God given condition that is unchangeable to gender as social construction that is changeable. In addition, hermeneutics is considered an appropriate approach chosen in feminist tafsir along with thematic method to interprete verses about gender relation in the Qur’an. With this methodology, its aim is to produce tafsir with more intersubjective and critical insight related to gender relation
