    Jilbab sebagai Identitas Organisasi Islam di Perguruan Tinggi

    This article was written based on research into jilbab (veil) wearing practices in the Muslim Student Organization KAMMI (Indonesian Muslim Student Action Unit), IMM (Muhammadiyah Student Organization), and KMNU (Nahdlatul Ulama Student Family) Yogyakarta. This study uses qualitative methods by conducting in-depth interviews. The approach is psychological-phenomenological. The principal argument of this study, the veil is used not only the theological issues and commitment to the organization, but also because of the search process that is influenced by psychological aspects.It finds that wearing of the jilbab is a process of identity formation, with individual students being influenced by their intellectualdevelopment, accumulated experiences, and psycho-social situation

    This study is based on the fact that there are many problems of sexual violence against women in Indonesia in general, and in Ambon city in particular. The list of female violence in Indonesia is increasing significantly every year, both published and unpublished because of the hidden culture. This study aims to reveal the data of sexual violence occurring in urban communities, particularly Ambon, Desa Passo, and to find out the tragic stories experienced by victims, and to describe a transformative pastoral approach that can be conducted by the church to assist victims, as well as make awareness  the perpetrators of the violence against women, which is not in accordance to the will of God. The study uses qualitative research methods and interview techniques as a means of gathering information/data to achieve research objectives. This study found that cases of violence against women tended to increase, and victims often silenced the case because of the culture of shame (hidden culture) to hide cases of violence in order not to be known by others. It is also the reason how the difficulty for law enforcement to the crime. Therefore, it needs a transformative pastoral approach to free the victims from the hidden culture and affirming the existence of the victim so that they can be healed from a prolonged traumatic experience

    The raising of hoax phenomenon in the social media is very excessive, especially the impact has been divisive Muslims, whereas the roots of the emergence of the hoax itself is nothing but the influence of global development and the advancement of science and technology, so that humans are pampered with a variety of sophisticated facilities, these facilities cause human beings entitled to freedom of expression. It is this freedom which gives birth to human communication with others indefinitely, even with the media of a person free to express public opinion, through this, one becomes free in exploring the interests of each, especially in realizing a mission of existence by the interests of a particular group, on this basis, regardless of how the impact of the hoax itself works, the groups produce and circulate the hoax news in the public sphere. In response, this study focuses on the Quranic view of the phenomenon of hoax or hoax. Through this descriptive method, this study confirms that the Qur'an as a guideline for Muslims needs to be re-dialled to the Islamic society of today, so through the Qur'an we can see how the hoax itself has been described in it, and how we as Muslims can work to avoid the plague of the hoax itself

    The problem of ta’wÄ«l  in Qur’anic studies is regarded as one of the controversial issues. It requires a holistic study on ta’wÄ«l. Some scholars still criticized the takwil as a method of understanding of the Qur’an. Some qur’anic commentators who did not give their commentaries will say AllÄhu a’lamu bi murÄdihi (It is only God who knows the meaning). However, another commentator did not agree with them. They then use ta’wÄ«l. One of qur’anic scholars who used ta’wÄ«l  is Muhammad Quraish Shihab. He is an Indonesian qur’anic commentator. One of his works is ‘Tafsir al-Mishbah’. It can be called as a remarkable work of tafsir. He used the different method of qur’anic interpretation. He has a deep linguistic approach and comprehensive understanding. He also uses an approach of tafsÄ«r bi al-ra’yi  that also used the traditional source as well

    This article reveals two things concerning about the religion plurality among STAIN Kudus students. The first, “what is the meaning of religion plurality from the student point of view?†The second, “how will the course give a contribution about the religion plurality for the students?†Based on the result of research among students of STAIN Kudus, expressed that the students have their own meanings and assumptions depend on their knowledge and experiences. These are: firstly, with the religious pluralism which will show that there are some differences religions surround us to be respected each other’s. Secondly, there is the attitude to respect and appreciate or to be tolerant to other religions. Thirdly, there is the belief that all religions are good, but they still believe that the best and the true one is Islam. The most of students defined the religion plurality is to respect and appreciate another people beliefs and doctrines. It was needed to avoid horizontal conflict among the people in the grass roots. The other side, the implementation of the concept of religion plurality through the comparative of religion course will give the insight to the students to make balance between theory and practices. Â

    The Responsibilities of Muslim Women in Dealing with Security Challenges in Nigeria

    The issue of insecurity has remained the most challenging problem in the world including Nigeria. In Nigeria, reports of kidnapping, armed robbery, assassination and killing/bombing which lead to lost of lives and destruction of properties kept on featuring in our media channels. In addition, women are the most vulnerable of this insurgency. They have been killed, widowed, raped or kidnapped etc. It is however to be noted that given the broader perspective of national security, government security agencies, nongovernmental organizations, Muslims both men and women, Islamic Scholars, youths etc. All should play the vital role of maintaining peace and curtailing insecurity in Nigeria. Therefore, everybody has a role to play at enhancing the national security. Islam being a comprehensive system of life provides preventive measures to curb insecurity in human society. This paper therefore examines the responsibility of the Muslim women in curbing insecurity in Nigeria. The paper observes that the causes of insecurity in Nigeria include; corruption, erosion of virtues and moralities values, youth unemployment, ignorance misuse of Islamic knowledge, globalization etc. This study uses the librarian research in which both primary and secondary sources were utilized for the work. These comprise of Qur’an, Hadith and other literatures. The result of  research found that Muslim women by their pedigree and character have the potential to ensure security in the society through good child upbringing, God consciousness, acquiring true Islamic knowledge to mention a few. It concludes that if these measures are implemented, they will go a long way in arresting this quagmire of insecurity in our society

    Dialog Antropologis Antaragama dengan Spiritualitas Passing Over

    Inter-religious dialogue is very important discourse in the context of many religions in Indonesia. Inter-religious dialogue is the efforts to solve the difficulty of a relationship among each other followers of religions in which some conflicts and strained situations often happened. This article is a theoretical study in the purpose to describe the matter of inter-religious dialogue and formulate the model of inter-religious dialogue for creating the tolerance, the harmony, the safeness, and the peace in the religious life. By using the librarian research, the resulting study discovered that any models of inter-religious dialogue can be categorized into two models of inter-religious dialogue that are ‘theological-spiritual dialogue’ and ‘social humanity dialogue’. Theologically and spiritually, all religions have a universal message and passing over spirit (out of the border of religions) in greatly committing to the human values. Anthropologically, the presence of all religion aims to bring the enlightenment and the enthusiasm of life among their adherents. It can be concluded that anthropological dialogue based on passing over spirituality is one of the interaction model in inter-religious dialogue, or positive and constructive communication which is oriented to create the safeness and the peace in the religious life, based on passing over spirituality, in which all religions have the initial spirit of the presence that religion plays a role to illuminate (illuminative), save (prophetic), liberate (liberative) and transform (transformative). Here, religion has a self-image as rahmatan lil ‘alamīn
