Scientific Thinking in Islamic Thought: Concept and its Importance
Get PDFGod’s revelations, as the main source of knowledge, do not deny, in any way our brain’s functional capabilities. The Quran acknowledges the necessity and importance of the brain. Islamic epistemology regards the brain as the second source of knowledge after the revelations. The holistic perspective on knowledge that is gained by mankind is that it is constructed by man in the context of their thinking culture, education and social concepts. Therefore, in this regard, thinking method directly relates to the objectives of Islam and its Sharia, and gives a significant implication towards understanding and developing Sharia as a dynamic knowledge area. This study combines three (3) methods, content analysis; historical method and comparison of the review of the history of the construction of Islamic thought and the review of screening methods Sociology Society background. The discussion this article covers the definition and concept of scientific thinking skills and scientific Islamic thought and the approaches of critical thinking in Islamic scientific thought. In reality, Muslims are not prohibited by their religion to think scientifically through scientific thinking methods, provided that it does not contradict with Islam. Some knowledge which is built through scientific thinking can be used to understand the Quranic texts more profoundly. Also, undeniably, the eminence of God’s revelations has been made evident and exploited to proof the existence of Allah
The Needs for Official Sharia Compliance Audit Institution to Protect Customers of Islamic Banking: an Application through Ḥisba
Get PDFThe emergence of Islamic banking system in most banks in Malaysia nowadays bring a new era in Malaysian banking industry. This article discusses the needs for official sharia compliance audit institution to protect customers of Islamic banking. By using literature studies, this article concludes that one of the contributing factors which lead people to adopt Islamic banking system is their awareness of the serious and intolerable prohibition of riba. Some of the ways to ensure customers are well protected are to establish ḥisba institution as Sharia compliance audit body. The establishment of ḥisba institution allows it to stop the violation of Allah’s prohibition and protect the society. With the establishment of the institution, it can play an important role to solicit advice and to monitor performance so that the banks operate strictly as according to the Islamic regulations
Loyalty and Disavowal in Holy Qur’an Descriptive linguistic study
Get PDFThis research aims to clarify the meaning of loyalty and disavowal from linguistic point of view, between the views of linguists, and the exegetes in the Lexicons and exegeses with analysis and debate. First of all, the researcher Indicates definition of loyalty as stated in the dictionaries, with bringing the examples from the Holy Qur’an and the views of the commentators about this issue, then analysis and discussion. Second, he defines Disavowal in the language, with a point of view from linguists, and interpreters, by analyzing and discussion the examples from the Noble Qur’an. Finally, it illustrates the application of the legal and practical concept of loyalty and disavowal, to enhance the significance of language. The importance of the current study is- according to researcher’s information- due to its doctrinal and sociological matter and nobody precede such a linguistic study of Loyalty. All of this shows the complexity of the uniqueness of Islam in Indonesian as the majority religion among diverse religions in Indonesia. Sufism are directly involved in the spread of Islam in Indonesia with a unique teaching that facilitate the engaging of non-Muslim communities into Islam, compromise or blends Islam with religious and beliefs practices rather than local beliefs change from an international network to the local level. The terms and the elements of the pre-Islamic culture are used to explain Islam itself. Islamic history of Sundanese, there is a link in teachings of Wihdat al-Wujud of Ibn al-‘Arabi who Sufism Scholar that connected between the international Islamic networks scholars and Sundanese in Indonesia. Performance Assesment of Bauchi Polytechnics and Technical Colleges Using Quality Assurance Indicators in Nigeria Qualification Framework
Get PDFTechnical and Vocational Education emphases skill acquisition, Quality Assurance in vocational education is concept that is concerned with high performance involved activities with vocational education such as teaching, learning, infrastructures, student’s behavior and entire academic process. Good quality education is very necessary in the total development of staff and students which ensures proper development, job prospects and the realization of academic goals and objects. Enhanced and sustained to ensure accountability and improve performance. Higher educational institutions in Nigeria continue to experience carelessly attitude about the use of Quality Assurance to understand the risk they are exposed to poor standard. To address these issues, the study embarked upon to determine the level of performance and difference usability of Quality Assurance in Polytechnics and Technical Colleges in Bauchi state. Quantitative method technique was employed using survey questionnaires, 60 staff both senior and junior within these institutions were selected and a questionnaire distributed for their responses. The data were analysed using SPSS software. The result reveals that Federal Polytechnic Bauchi and State Polytechnic Bauchi has high level of Performance about Quality Assurance indicators while College of Education Azare has medium level of Performance. College of education Azare has highest mean rank of 29.87 and percentage of 31.8% obtained from the output result indicated that it has high usability to Quality Assurance, followed by Federal Polytechnic Bauchi with medium usability then State Polytechnic Bauchi has low usability to Quality Assurance. The study concluded by Quality Assurance Unit be made aware to each institution staff to enable recognize the benefits of it. Federal government should give more funding and employ staff to cater the need of Quality Assurance Unit in every institution so that it will help the students to develop their potentialities

These sources help in the operative formulation of generating the complete growth of individual with integrated, balanced, and collective personality. The principal task of education is, to nurture the personal growth of a human being. It is through this development of the individual and the preservation and transmission of culture that both the individual and society attains a quality of life. A good man is not necessarily a complete man. No one can be stared as a complete human because there is no end to the growth of human personality. A wide knowledge of many subjects helps in the growth of personality (psychology) provided a man knows how to modify behavior and knows how knowledge and actions are integrated into a broad, total framework of life. This issue has been taken into hand to provide an insight from Islamic perspective for a broad continuum of personality development or what in contemporary era is called human psychology. State elements theory explains that the country is composed of three elements such as the region, the people, and the government as well as the sovereignity. By using the literature study, this article found that the Prophet Muhammad is a leader who always carries his reign by implementing the principles of Islam as well. Among the principles of the state in Islamic perspective consists of the trust, consultation, fairness, freedom, and equality. Relating to this reason, the Indonesian state is seen as the state of law because it refers to the 1945 Indonesia Constitution (UUD 1945) and Pancasila. The explanation of muwÄlÄt in Zuhaily’s exegesis “al Tafsir al munirâ€
No full textOne of the crucial contemporary issues of Islamic thought that has brought complicated situation in Muslims states, on the one hand, and between Muslims and non-Muslims on the other hand, is the issue of muwÄlÄt. The literal understanding of muwÄlÄt has caused profound problems in human societies, especially in the multi-religion countries. This research clarifies the meaning of loyalty in the Qur’Än based on al-Zuḥayli’s exegesis by using analytical -inductive method. The present study also elucidates Al-Zuḥayli’s point of view towards spiritual muwÄlÄt and humane social muwÄlÄt in the Quran.Hence, the study reveals fruitful findings and output, indicating that al-Zuḥayli separated muwÄlÄt to three categories; prohibited muwÄlÄt, muwÄlÄt that causes infidelity, and muwÄlÄt which means nice cohabitation with others. Also, the study explores that al-Zuḥayli believes that the principle in relations with Non-Muslims is based on peace. Furtheremore, al-Zuḥayli pointed out that muwÄlÄt is permissible when it benefits Muslim society and Non- Muslim are not fighting with or betraying Muslims. Also the study presents that al-Zuḥayli has distinguished between muwÄlÄt that means monotheism and worshiping God, and other types of muwÄlÄt
NÄẓir Al-Waqf in Imam Syafi’i’s View and its Implementation in Indonesia
No full textThis article focuses on the possessing endowment that refers to the association that copes the endowment properties from the endower in order to be managed and developed based on its intentions (Act Number 41 of 2004 Article 1 Section 4). According to Imam Syafi’i, possessing endowment can be comprised by waqá¿‘f, or mawqÅ«f ‘alayh, or ḥÄkim. Dissimilarity with the constraints in the Government Regulations Number 28 of 1977, possessing endowment should be managed by individual or institution in contrast with the constraints that are mentioned by Imam Syafi’i. Evenly, Act Number 41 of 2004 Article 9 has mentioned possessing endowment may include: individuals, organizations, and institutions. This study examines that Nazhir Waqaf in Indonesia must be established referring to the view of Imam Syafi’i, Government Regulation Number 28 of 1977, and Act Number 41 of 2004 about The Endowment of Land Properties. Through literature review of Imam Syafi’i works and refers to Government Regulation Number 28 of 1977, Act Number 41 of 2004, and the Government Regulation Number 42 of 2006, this paper concluded that Nazhir Waqaf can be implemented referring to the view of Imam Syafi’i and also regulated under the Government Regulations Number 28 of 1977, Act Number 41 of 2004, and the Government Regulation Number 42 of 2006 about Endowment in Indonesia
