Model Perencanaan Pembangunan Pedesaan Berbasis pada Sektor Pertanian (Studi Kasus Kecamatan Moyudan Kabupaten Sleman)
Sleman, as an area with rapid economic growth, againts the challenge of development in relation with population expansion, local autonomy and good governance. In one hand, there is lack of synergy among development stakeholders, on the other hand. information is ineffectively used during the decision making process. This paper aimed to develop a model of rural development plan based on agricultural sector using two computer softwares,(i) Geographical Information System (GIS) as spasial information system and (ii) Powersim to program the dynamic system behaviour. The model provides information on existing condition and consists of five components namely geography, development function, infrastructure, institution, and data catalog. The model was developed through formulating causal diagrams of development sectors and set it in a dynamic programming. The model was then validated in Moyudan, Sleman for the case of agriculture development, which is showed that the model was valid
Desain Sistem Kontrol Ruang Pertumbuhan Ulat Sutera untuk Meningkatkan Kualitas Produksi Sutera Alam
The world demand of raw-silk provides a great opportunity to the development of raw-silk production in Yogyakarta. Recently, only 21% out of the overall world demand of raw-silk is fulfilled, whereas Indonesia contributes only 0.1% per year. The main problem is the lack of quality of raw-silk. The optimum growth of silkworm depends on micro environments, i. e. temperature, humidity, aeration, and light intensity. The research was aimed, to apply an automated -"on/or control technology in the silkworm rearing environmental monitoring. The result expected is high-grade quality of cocoon. In the research, two different conditions of silkworm growing environments were compared: controlled environment (in the rearing box) and normal environment. Then, from third instar (silkworm's growth stage) to cocoon's stage (final stage or fifth instar), temperature and air humidly were set on 24°C - 26°C and 70% - 80% 'respectively. While, Aeration and light intensity were ranged 0.1 - 0.3 m/s and 15 - 30 lux for all instar stages (constant) respectively. The result indicated that there was an increasing the percentage of cocoon skin's grade in the controlled rearing environment (19.66%), compared to the result of normal rearing environment (18.56%), also there was significantly different result on the thickness of the cocoon produce
Pengaruh Konsentrasi NaOH terhadap Sifat-Sifat Karaginan Eucheuma cottonii dari Karimun Jawa dan Madura
Carrageenan Eucheuma cottonii is a species of seaweed having high economic values that is grows in Indonesia. The main constraint \which needs to be concerned were decreasing of carrageenan rendement values affected the quality and quantity in downstream industry. The aim of this study was to find out optimal carrageenan rendement with NaOH concentrate variation from Karimun Jawa and Madura areas. The method applied experimental using factorial plan design. The treatments given were the different location, the color variation of of E. cottonii and variation NaOH concentration to extract the carrageenan. The result shows that different carrageenan quality and carrageenan contain of red and green E. cottonii from different sample taking location. The application of NaOH as much as 5% for carrageenan extraction produced the highest yield, gel strength and gelling temperature but gives lowest viscosity
Pediococcus acidilactici F-11 Penghasil Bakteriosin sebagai Agensia Biokontrol Escherichia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus pada Sayuran Segar Simpan Dingin
Our survey indicated that fresh vegetables contained. high population of microorganisms including pathogenic Staphylococcus aureus. Washing procedures, including the addition of sanitizes to the wash water have not been effectively in reduction of the number of microorganisms. Currently, there is interest in possible use bacteriocin producer of lactic acid bacteria as biocontrol agents to ensure safety of minimally processed, refrigerated (MPR) foods which are not acidified, including fruits and vegetables. Our previous result, indicated that Pediococcus acidilactici F-11 (PAF-11) produced bacteriocin with wide spectrum activity. Objectives of this research was to study the potency of PAF-I 1 as biocontrol agent to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria occurred in ready to eat fresh vegetables, i.e., paprika, lettuce, carrot. The results showed that PAF-11 was able to inhibit the growth of naturally present coliform and Staphylococcus significantly, as well as that of tested bacteria of E. coil and S. aureus which were inoculated into paprika and carrot. PAF-11 was able to grow at these two vegetables, and their population were increased about I log cycle. Bacteriocin activity produced by PAF-11 was positively detected from these two vegetables inoculated with these bacteria. However, there was no inhibition activity of PAF-11 against naturally present coliform and Staphylococcus, as well as inoculated E. coil and S. aureus on lettuce. Bacteriocin activity produce by PAF-11 was also not detected in this vegetables. Conclusion of this study, Pediococcus acidilactici F-11 could be used as biocontrol agents in paprica and carrot
Potensi Bakteri Asam Laktat yang Diisolasi dari Dadih untuk Menurunkan Kadar Kolesterol Darah
Epidemiological, laboratory and clinical studies have shown a good correlation between high serum cholesterol and increased risk for the incidence of coronary heart disease. Reduction in total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol in hypercholesterolemic men reduces the incidence of cardiovascular disease. Modification of diets such as ingestion of probiotic in the form offermented foods or lactic acid bacteria-containing foods is considered as a more natural way to decrease serum cholesterol in humans. Lactic acid bacteria isolated from dadih could reduce the total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels in hypercholesterolemic rats by deconjugation of bile salts. Deconjugation of bile salts by BSH of dadih LAB resulted in an increased production of deconjugated bile acids. Deconjugated bile acids are less well absorbed from the small intestine than the conjugated bile acids. Thus, the amount of bile acids returned to the liver during enterohepatic circulation decreased. Deconjugated bile acids are also excreted more rapidly than conjugated bile acids and they bind more easily to the dietary fiber and intestinal bacteria than conjugated bile acids. Loss of bile acids may indeed result in an increased requirement of cholesterol as a precursor for the synthesis of new bile acids. The salacca (Salacca zalacca cv. Pondoh) fruits were stored in various modified atmosphere conditions in the impermeable cuverles with the variation of oxygen concentration of 2, 4, 6 and 8%. carbon dioxide concentration of 1, 2. 3 and 4% and nitrogen concentration as the rest. The variation of temperature was 12, 20 and 24 C. Gases within each cuvette were replaced daily. The respiration rate of the fruit was mudded based on the enzyme kinetic theory. The result showed that the respiration model Mows the Michaelis-Menten enzyme kinetic, with CO2 as the uncompetitive inhibitor. The model was fit to predict the respiration rate of the fruit

Analisis Ketersediaan Air sebuah Das Menggunakan Model NAM (Nedbor Afstromnings Model)
This study was conducted at Loning Watershed which is located in Magelang, Central Java and completed with Loning dam. Water yield from watershed is mainly used for water supply of the Loning irrigation area. The optimal parameter of the NAM model were CQOF = 0.001, CLOF = 0.03, CQIF = 0.01, CLIF = 0.999, Umax = 70, Lmax = 500, CBFL = 0.99, CLG = 0.675, CKBFU = 0.35, CKBFL = 59, CKI = 0.1, and CK2 = 0.1. The optimal initial value for some variables were Qif1+Qof1 = 0.5, Qif2+Qof2 = 0.01, U = 45, L = 480, BFU1 =5.55, and BFL1 = 0.45. Verification of the model indicated that statistically and graphically the NAM model is suitable to be applied for small watersheds for prediction of available water for irrigation as well. The prediction of available water for irrigatin of Loning irrigation area during the planting period of 1999/2000 indicated that there was excess of water during the period of October 1 to July 1. In contrary, lack of water was occurred during the period of July II to September I
