Kinerja Alat Pencurah Sederhana Pada Sistem Irigasi Curah (Sprinkler Irrigation System)
The modification of fabricated sprinkler which is available in the market was done in order to solve several problems, such as : the performance is unsatisfied, the prize is relatively high, the construction is complicated, and the operation and maintenance is not too easy. The performance testing was carried out to six model of modification sprinklers, they were : Sl, S2, S3, S4, S5, and S6, and then compared with fabricated sprinkler (SP). Sprinklers were tested with several parameters, such as : water discharge, throw distance, water distribution pattern, water rate, and particle water diameter. Result of experiment showed that S5 gives the best performance. This model has upper arm length = 5.0 cm, lower arm length = 3.8 cm, nozzle angle in upper arm = 65°, nozzle angle in lower arm = 40°, the number of nozzle in each lower arm and top of arm is one. Comparing with fabricated sprinkler (SP), the prize of S5 model is relatively cheap. It is Rp. 5,575.00 for S5 and Rp. 17,500.00 for SP. Due to the construction is relatively simple and the product material is very easy to find in local market, so the model S5 can be introduced and developed to farmers in order to increase their agricultural production
Model Perubahan Kadar Air Emping Selama dalam Kemasan Plastik Polipropelin
The objective of this study was to develop a mathematical model for predicting the moisture content of food chips during packaged by permeable plastic film. The mathematical model developed was based on water vapor migration trough permeable film, equilibrium moisture content and mass balances. Samples for the experiment were fried chips made from roasted, pounded flat and dried Gnetum gnemon seeds (emping) found around the city of Yogyakarta. The fried emping chips were packaged using polypropelin plastics. The packages of the fried chips were than stored in glass bottles. The relative humidities of the storage atmosphere inside the bottles were adjusted using salts such that their ranges were between 10% to 90%. The moisture content of the fried emping chips were observed for about twenty (20) days until they reach their equilibrium moisture contents. The results indicate that the model can be used quite well to predict the moisture content of fried chips during packaged in plastic film. However, for dried chip packages stored on atmospheric relative humidity higher than 70% the rate of the moisture content change tends to increase. The range of food moisture content stored under higher atmospheric relative humidity was wider than that stored on atmosphere with lower relative humidity. This wider range of moisture content change makes the model can not predict adequately the equilibrium moisture content by using a single moisture-humidity linear relationship. Estimation of the chip moisture content during storage using two linear relationships was better than that using a single linear relationship
Kinetika Fermentasi Selulosa Murni oleh Trichoderma reesei QM 9414 Menjadi Glukosa dan Penerapannya pada Jerami Padi Bebas Lignin
The objectives of this research were: 1) to determine aeration rate and substrate concentration of pure cellulose to produce maximum glucose by Trichoderma reesei QM 9414 at 30 °C, and agitation at 150 rpm; 2) to study the kinetics of pure cellulose fermentation by Trichoderma reesei QM 9414 to glucose and its implication upon fermentation of the lignin free rice straw. The experiment was arranged in factorial randomized complete design consisted of three levels of aeration (1,00 vvm; 1,5 vvm; 2,0 vvm) and three levels of substrate concentration (0,75 %; 1,00 %; 1,25 % w/v). The results showed that at the exponential phase that the average specific growth of Trichoderma reesei QM 9414 was 0,05374 hour-I, the maximum glucose product concentration of pure cellulose was 0.1644 gri ,and the oxygen transfer was 0,0328 mg L-1 hour-i. According to t-test, the kinetics of pure cellulose fermentation model just the same as the lignin 'free rice straw fermentation. The enzymes produced by Trichoderma reesei QM 9414 in pure cellulose fermentation media followed the Michaelis-Menten model. The enzyme kinetic parameters were the maximum growth Michaelis-Menten constant hour rate was 37x10-3 hour-1 and was 1/2 maximum p 17,5x10.3. The volumetric oxyfen transfer (K,) using rice straw was 0,0337 mg. hour . The value of KIA, could be used for conversion from bioreactor at laboratory scale to commercial scale design

One among the policies in Irrigation Management Policy Reform (IMPR) is the Irrigation Management Transfer (IMT). Through the IMT, farmers in Water Users' Association (WUA) manage their own irrigation systems. The IMT let farmers to diversify their farming system to achieve farmers' welfare. The diversification results in in the variation of planting pattern in an irrigation system. The variation is bigger if market plays a role in crop choice. Therefore, the assumption that an irrigation system has a uniform performance throughout the system is no longer valid. This paper aims to examine the distribution of an irrigation system managed by farmers. The system chosen as sample was Mejing Irrigation System in Banjul, Yogyakarta. The performance was assessed by using adequacy and water delivery performance. The growth of income, knowledge, jobs, and work places supported the existence of the food service industry to fulfill the society's need To increase the consumer's satisfaction, it was needed to measure the service quality. The service quality was measured based on several variables: tangibles, responsiveness, reliability, assurance, and empathy, which ordered by SERVQUAL instruments. The research was conducted by using questionnaire which was spread out to the consumers. The research methodology was purposive random sampling. The data were analyzed by product moment correlation test and Alpha technique for reliability test. The assumption for the double regression model had to fulfill following criteria's: no multicolinearity no autocorrelation, and heteroscedasticity which could be ignored. The results showed, that consumer's acceptance level for service quality was high, which could be ranked as follow: reliability (highest), assurance, tangibles, responsiveness, and empathy (lowest). Double regression model for the quality service was : Y = 1.377 + 3.99x10-2X17.278x104X2– 4.673x10-2X3 + 0.118X, + 2.381x10'2X3, which meant variable assurance (X4) gave the highest contribution to the consumer's satisfactio
Model Dinamika Ketersedian Pangan - Studi Kasus : Ketersediaan Beras di Wilayah Madiun, Jawa Timur
In order to predict and determine level of food security in a certain area, a dynamic system approach model of food supply-demand planning that based on regional resources was developed. The model was run using both primary and secondary data, which were gathered in the study area, Madiun Region, East Java Province. One of food crop comodities that was focused for simulating the model was rice. To validate the developed model, one scenario was selected, there were no changing of planting or harvesting area and rice productivity level, also rice imported from other areas (countries) was zero for five next years. The simulation results indicated that the level of actual food security (1.29 - 1.27 years) was higher than government's level (1.25 years), though the rice market price decreased gradually

Kajian Tentang Distribusi Substitusi Pati Hidroksipropil dengan HPLC
Hidrolisat asam dari Pati hidroksipropil dari gandum, jagung, jagung waxy dan jagung amilose tinggi dipisahkan dengan HPLC menggunakan kolom uPoracil menjadi enam komponen. Senyawa model hidroksipropil D-glukosa disintesa dengan cara hidroksipropilasi glukosa yang lebih dahulu diblok. Komponen hidrolisat pati hidroksipropil dianalisa dengan menggunakan senyawa model. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa substitusi pada C2 lebih dari 82% dan sekitar 6% pada C6 pada unit glukose pada derifatif pati gandum; lebih dari 87% pada C2 dan lebih dari 30% pada C6 pada pati jagung. Penentuan subsitusi molar dengan HPLC memberi hasil yang mirip dengan penentuan menggunakan spektrofotometer
