Environmentally friendly waste processing is the process of separating waste with categories of hazardous, toxic, economic value to non-economic value. Meanwhile, the community-based management system involves community participation in the process of sorting, reducing, utilizing and handling the waste. Until 2019, the waste production of the people of Sidoarjo Regency reached around 4,700 m3 per day. However, the ability to transport waste to the Final Disposal Site is only capable of 25%. As a result of the remaining waste that is not transported, the community manages the waste by ignoring environmental procedures, such as throwing it into the river, burning it, putting it in a hole in the ground and so on. In fact, it is possible that the waste contains materials that cannot be decomposed by the environment and even toxic and hazardous materials (B3). Sidoarjo Regency has one of the Integrated Waste Disposal Sites (TPST) named Mekarsari. TPST Mekarsari has 1 unit of plastic waste sorting machine, 1 unit of organic waste chopper and 1 unit of incinerator. However, the current management of the Mekarsari TPST is still not optimal. Some of the things that cause this include the lack of equipment for waste management. Some of the handling of waste that has not been realized include the management of plastic waste mixed with other waste such as packaging plastic bags and small plastics and the handling of organic waste using BSF (Black Soldier Fly) maggots. The solution provided by the ITS Abdimas Team with BUMDes Ngingas Makmur Abadi is to make a study document on the potential development of waste management, study the need for tools/machines for waste management, and procure tools/machines for waste management at the Mekarsari TPST

Batu City is well-known as one of the cities based on agribusiness and tourism in Indonesia. Agribusiness that is widely developed in Batu City are vegetables and fruits. Kajar Hamlet which is located in Pandanrejo Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City certainly has great agribusiness potential as well. Kajar Hamlet also owns various forms of agribusiness with vegetable and fruit products as well as decorative flowers. But the potential that is no less interesting is the large demand for fresh freshwater fish products that come from many restaurants. Kelompok Peternak Ikan Nila is trying to develop a tilapia cultivation business. Starting from assistance from ITS-Surabaya (as university) to cultivate tilapia using cages in waterways in Kajar Hamlet and evaluation of failures due to the risk of flash floods that have occurred, tilapia cultivation was made using fish ponds by utilizing the residents' unproductive land and the adequacy of water from existing waterways without changing the main function of the waterways as irrigation for agricultural areas. This paper attempts to present the process of developing a freshwater fish farming business in Kajar Hamlet along with an analysis of the business and potential of derivative products that can be further developed

Automated Corrosion Detection on Steel Structures Using Convolutional Neural Network

    Get PDF
Steel is a material that is widely used in industry and construction. The tensile and compressive force of steel is relatively high compared to other materials. On the opposite, low corrosion resistance is the main weakness of steel, which can encourage steel deterioration and fatal accidents for the user. Furthermore, regular visual inspection by a human should be performed to prevent catastrophic incidents. However, human visual inspection increases the risk of work accidents and reduces work effectiveness. Therefore, a drone with a camera is one solution to increase efficiency, increase security levels, and minimize difficulties or risks during corrosion inspection. In this research, the drone has been used to capture corroded video of a construction structure. The convolutional neural network (CNN) method is then used to detect the location of the corroded images. This study has been conducted on Surabaya’s Petekan-bridge with the Mobilenet V1 SSD pre-training model. In this study, the distance between a drone and the detected object varied between 1 and 2 m. Next, the drone speed was varied into 0.6 m/s, 0.9m/s, and 1.3m/s. As a result, CNN can detect corrosion on the surface of steel materials with the best accuracy is 84.66% and minimum total loss value of 1.673 by applying 200 images, 200000 epochs, batch size at 4, learning rate at 0.001 and 0.1, the distance at 1 m, drone speed at 0.6 m/s.

Determinan Utang Luar Negeri Indonesia Tahun 1981-2020

    Get PDF
Indonesia is one of the developing countries that is actively advancing development. However, limited funding for development is the main obstacle for developing countries, including Indonesia, in increasing development. To overcome these cost problems, a large injection of funds is needed, one of which comes from foreign debt. Although foreign debt helps to advance development, its uncontrolled increase will result in default on debt payments until a crisis occurs. Theoretically, foreign debt is influenced by various faktors including foreign investment (FDI), gross domestic product (GDP), exchange rates, imports, exports, and foreign exchange reserves. This study aims to analyze the effect of FDI, GDP, exchange rate, imports, exports, and foreign exchange reserves on Indonesia's foreign debt in the long term and short term. The analytical method used in this study is the Error Correction Mechanism (ECM) for the period 1981-2020. The results of the study indicate that in the long term and short term the variabels of FDI, foreign exchange reserves, and the exchange rate have a significant and positive effect on Indonesia's foreign debt. Meanwhile, the variabels of GDP, imports, and exports have no significant effect on Indonesia's foreign debt in the long and short term

Probabilistic Scheduling Based On Hybrid Bayesian Network–Program Evaluation Review Technique

    Get PDF
Project scheduling based on probabilistic methods commonly uses the Program Evaluation Review Technique (PERT). However, practitioners do not widely utilize PERT-based scheduling due to the difficulty in obtaining historical data for similar projects. PERT has several drawbacks, such as the inability to update activity dura- tions in real time. In reality, changes in project conditions related to resources have a highly dynamic nature. The availability of materials, fluctuating labor productiv- ity, and equipment significantly determine the project completion time. This research aims to propose a probabilistic scheduling model based on the Hybrid Bayesian Network-PERT. This model combines PERT with Bayesian Network (BN). BN is used to accommodate real-time changes in resource conditions. The modeling of BN diagrams and variables is obtained through an in-depth literature review, direct field observations, and distributing questionnaires to experts in project scheduling. The model is validated by applying the proposed model to a 60 m concrete bridge construction project in Indonesia. The simulation results of the proposed model are then compared with the case study project to assess the model’s accuracy. The result of the study shows that the proposed hybrid Bayesian-PERT model is accurate and can eliminate the weaknesses of the PERT method. Besides being able to provide an accurate prediction of project completion time (93.4%), this model can also be updated in real-time according to the actual condition of the projec

Exploration of plant variations is required to determine the absorbance ability and potential utilization of dye in the development of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC). Extraction of four different plants was carried out to obtain three different types of natural dyes. The curcumin dye was obtained from the extraction of Curcuma longa, the chlorophyl dye was obtained from the extraction of Bryophytes, the anthocyanin dye was obtained from the extraction of Brassica oleracea var capitata f. rubra, and Tradescantia spathacea. The research was conducted to determine the absorbance capability of each different type of dye and the image of the thin layer of TiO2 nanofiber used by DSSC. Extraction is carried out through a drying and pounding process. The powder of each plant was then synthesized using ethanol through a homogenization process for 12 hours. The research utilizes a spectrophotometer UV-Visible to determine the wavelength of the natural dye, as well as a scanning electron microscope (SEM) to determine the size of the titanium dioxide (TiO2) thin film nanofiber based on the displayed image. DSSC utilizes TiO2 nanofiber as a thin layer of semiconductor. The dye absorption peak is in the wavelength range of 350-500 nm and 650-700 nm. Based on the analysis of absorbance results, curcumin dye has the greatest potential to be used in DSSC with the highest absorption ability in all its occurrences at visible light wavelengths
