    VAR Model Estimation And Application Of IRF And FEVD On Currency Exchange Rates, COVID-19 Cases, And WHO Twitter Information In Southeast Asia

    This paper examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and World Health Organization (WHO) information dissemination through Twitter on the exchange rates of Southeast Asian countries. The study utilizes a VAR model for analysis, incorporating daily positive cases and the percentage of tweets with positive sentiment as proxies for the pandemic and WHO information, respectively. The VAR models are employed for forecasting and estimating impulse response functions (IRF) and forecast error variance decomposition (FEVD). The forecasting performance is evaluated using mean absolute error (MAE), root-mean-square error (RMSE), and R2 metrics, revealing that only Cambodia possesses a reliable forecasting model. The IRF analysis demonstrates varying effects of the pandemic and WHO information across different countries, while the FEVD results indicate distinct contributions of the pandemic and WHO information in each Southeast Asian country. Additionally, the FEVD analysis reveals that exchange rates are mostly influenced by their own past behavior. Overall, this study provides insights into the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and WHO information on exchange rates in Southeast Asia

    Design of Monkeypox Virus Spread Control in Humans Using Pontryagin Minimum Principle

    Monkeypox is a contagious disease caused by a virus. In Africa, monkeypox results in death in 1 out of 10 infected individuals. The Food and Drug Administration in the United States recommends vaccination as a preventive measure against monkeypox virus. If infected, the World Health Organization (WHO) advises quarantine to prevent further transmission to others. This research develops a mathematical model known as SIR (Susceptible-Infected-Recovered) for the spread of monkeypox virus, incorporating vaccination and quarantine as control measures. The SIR model utilized is based on an existing model and follows the conditions of monkeypox spread in Nigeria, represented as a system of nonlinear differential equations. Optimal control is determined using the Pontryagin Minimum Principle and simulated using the fourth-order forward-backward sweep Runge-Kutta method to assess the level of monkeypox infection before and after implementing control measures. Based on the simulation results, it is concluded that the application of control measures can reduce the population of infected monkeys by 70% and infected humans by 59%

    OBSAFER: Hydrogen Power Plant from Soybean Straw and Tofu Liquid Waste in Kediri District

    Industrial developments result in higher consumption of electrical energy with considerable emissions. Efforts to develop alternative energy are carried out to overcome climate change. Hydrogen, as a clean energy, can be produced from biomass, such as soybean straw waste. The OBSAFER innovation was created to optimize the use of soybean straw and tofu liquid waste in electrical power. The process began with soybean straw waste pre-treated with NaOH and entered into a bioreactor for a dark fermentation process with Clostridium butyricum to produce hydrogen, methane, and carbon dioxide. Then, the gas is separated by a CH4 filter and a CO2 filter, so the main product is hydrogen. The OBSAFER technology can produce 821,751 kWh/year from 21.6 tons of soybean straw waste and Clostridium butyricum from tofu liquid waste

    Simulating Ocean Surface Condition on an Extreme Weather Using Hydrodynamic 3D Model

    Research regarding sea surface condition during the coastal flood in Parepare 6 December 2021 has been carried out. In this research, the Delft3D model will be utilized to simulate the significant wave height (Hs) and direction, tide (η), and total water level (TWL) using input data from ECMWF ERA-5, including zonal (u) and meridional (v) wind, as well as surface air pressure data (p). The model’s output demonstrate that the model is capable of accurately simulating the Hs and η, utilizing 2x2 gridded satellite data and the tide observation station of BIG, respectively. Hence, we conducted simulations to explore the interaction between Hs and η in the form of TWL in Parepare Bay, focusing in Bacukiki Barat and Ujung Districts on Desember 6, 2021. The results indicate that the maximum TWL for these two districts was 2.3376 meters dan 2.2096 meters, consecutively, both of which propagated towards the Parepare Coast. These extreme TWL height were exacerbated by the extreme rainfall occurring in Parepare City within 4-7 December 2021, which is exceeding 200 mm/day. The ECMWF ERA-5 model also revealed that the presence of strong winds blowing from The Java Sea to The Makassar Strait at speeds of around 25-30 knots, which is suspected to be the underlying cause of the high waves observed over the Makassar Strait

    Rice is one of the main crops produced by agricultural commodities which is staple food of most Indonesian people. The availability of rice is needed to anticipate the emergence of problems in the future such as population growth, changes in seasons, or as an export commodity. Estimation of rice availability in the future can be done by forming a mathematical model, where the mathematical model used is the Verhulst logistic model. The differential equations in the Verhulst model are first solved using Runge-Kutta method  to obtain four initial solutions to be used in finding approximate values using the Adams-Bashforth-Moulton method. After obtaining an approximate solution, a comparison of the accuracy based on error is carried out. The Verhulst model with a step size  and carrying capacity rice harvest at Jombang Regency  limited  500,000 tons, 600,000 tons, and 700,000 tons, obtained rate error values from numerical solution of Adams-Bashforth-Moulton method is 3.35%, 3.39%, and 3.36%

    Determination of Location and Severity of Nodules on Lung Cancer CT Image Using YOLO Methods

    The severity of lung cancer can be used to determine appropriate treatment measures and reduce the risk of death. The severity identification is monitored based on the size and location of the nodule. However, previous studies still focused on determining the location of nodules without identifying their severity. In this study, the severity of lung cancer is detected based on the size of its nodules. This research contributes to the annotation of severity to the Lung Image Database Consortium image collection (LIDC-IDRI) dataset and the development of automatic severity detection using You Only Look Once (YOLO) methods. The data is given a severity level based on the nodule size calculated based on the number of pixels in the nodule length. Automatic detection is done using YOLO methods, which consist of several versions, namely YOLOv5, YOLOv7, and YOLOv8. YOLO methods can properly detect the location and severity of cancer nodules with the IoU evaluation results obtained using YOLOv5, YOLOv7, and YOLOv8, which are 0.86, 0.6, and 0.87, respectively. From the experiment, it can be concluded that determining the location and severity of cancer based on nodule size using YOLO methods is proven effective and can be done in real-time

    Salah satu indikator ekonomi makro untuk mengetahui kondisi perekonomian Indonesia adalah produk domestik bruto (PDB). Saat ini, pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia cenderung stabil berada di sekitar angka 5 persen. Pertumbuhan PDB Indonesia ini tidak terlepas dari kontribusi sektor jasa keuangan. Di samping itu, kemiskinan kerap menjadi permasalahan sosial yang mesti diperhatikan. Fenomena tersebut dapat disebabkan oleh variabel-variabel ekonomi dan sosial, seperti pemberian kredit/pembiayaan usaha mikro, kecil dan menengah (UMKM), rata-rata lama sekolah, investasi, ketimpangan, dan pengangguran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh total dari variabel ekonomi dan sosial tersebut terhadap indeks inklusi keuangan 33 provinsi di Indonesia tahun 2011-2021. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode persamaan bentuk tereduksi yang diturunkan dari model panel simultan. Pengaruh total dari setiap variabel eksogen terhadap variabel endogen dapat dilihat melalui persamaan bentuk tereduksi. Sebagai hasilnya, persamaan bentuk tereduksi menunjukkan bahwa variabel pembiayaan UMKM, rata-rata lama sekolah dan investasi berpengaruh total positif terhadap peningkatan indeks inklusi keuangan. Sementara itu, variabel rasio gini dan tingkat pengangguran terbuka berpengaruh total negatif terhadap indeks inklusi keuangan di Indonesia tahun 2011-2021. Hal ini dapat menjadi gambaran bagi pemerintah dalam mengevaluasi pembangunan regional
