Women's labor force participation in Indonesia tends to be lower than men. In married women, decisions to participate in labor force are more complicated related to their duties at home. Economic difficulties is one of the reason for their participation. This research aims to look the relationship of household food insecurity that illustrates the economic difficulties and material hardship of the family to the woman labor force participation. Using 2017 Susenas survey, this paper assesed food insecurity from Food Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES). The results show that labor force participation in married women is 50,05 percent where most of the married women work in informal sector (60,31 percent). However, probit regression shows that tendencies of married women to participate into labor market higher with the severity of the food insecurity. Married women who experience severe food insecurity 6,3 point percent more likely to participate in the labor force than the one who has food security. But overall, education, husband’s working status and type of residence are the strongest determinant of married women labor force participation

The problems that occur in PT Sepatu are still many defect products. To improve the quality and reduce the number of defects is to make improvements to the flow of the process by using the DMAI stages. In the Define stage, the determination of the selected critical defect is needle fracture, jump stitch, loose stitch, Upper symmetry, and Upper wrinkling. In the Measure phase, DPMO measurements were carried out at 4028 units and a sigma level of 4.1. In the Analyze stage, analyze complex problems that cause defects in the sewing department using Network of Problem (NoP). The output of Nop in the form of partial solution (Ps) and sub problem (Pb) becomes the FMEA input, which will then be analyzed and measured in the value of the RPN. The potential Failure Mode (s) with the highest RPN score in the FMEA table will be a priority and become the initial input to the OTSM-TRIZ stage procedure. In the Improve phase using 40 selected inventory principles the repair solution performs cleaning and checking the position of the rotary-yarn tip at the start of each shift, gives a sign sticker on the tension ring, makes a tool to check bent needles, conducts employee training and employee skill mapping. From the results of the implementation of recommendations, improvements to the estimated reduction defect of 705 pairs of shoes with sigma 4.3 leve

The economic rise as much as 5.5% in East Java region in the first quarter of 2018 compared to the first quarter of 2017, was due to the main supporting factor of an increase in the number of industries. An increase in industry has the potential to cause environmental pollution, especially in water bodies as evidenced by an index of water quality conditions for East Java rivers that now stands on Class II. Currently, PT. X in East Java is working on the expansion of its company. This study aims to identify the risks of wastewater treatment of PT. X using the fishbone analysis method and determine the priority of failures that must be handled using the FMEA method. For research purposes, two types of data are used, namely secondary and primary data. Secondary data includes flow chart of wastewater treatment, wastewater quality report and standard operating procedures. Meanwhile, the primary data for the quality of wastewater treatment was obtained through sampling, which was carried out at each wastewater treatment unit as well as the results of questionnaire with direct interviews. From those two types of data, an analysis of the potential occurrence of risk arises by using a fishbone analysis diagram. The risk results obtained through fishbone analysis are then processed using the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method to obtain a Risk Priority Number (RPN). Then, the results of risk analysis from fishbone analysis are assessed into a priority of failures, expressed in Risk Priority Number (RPN).Based on the analysis of research data, it was concluded that the problem that occurred in wastewater treatment was inefficient wastewater treatment. The inefficient process was caused by the WWTP design conditions that were greater than the inlet discharge. Based on the results of data processing using the FMEA method, it was found that the largest RPN value was 12

    Get PDF
Adanya diagnosa penyakit liver sejak dini mampu meningkatkan kelangsungan hidup pasien.

Determination of the Optimal Buoy Shape for A Concept Wave Energy Converter to Harness Low Amplitude Sea Waves using Numerical Simulation

    Get PDF
This research investigates the optimal buoy shape for a conceptual point absorber Wave Energy Converter (WEC) for harnessing low amplitude sea waves characteristic of the Gulf of Guinea coast. It has been established that shape of buoy is one of the main parameter affecting the efficiency of a point absorber WEC. Based on best buoy shapes as reported in literature, two shapes are selected for comparison: cone-cylinder composite buoy and Concave wedge shaped buoy. The WEC’s buoy and the power take off were mathematically modelled as a mass-spring-damper system. The buoys hydrodynamic coefficients were computed using strip theory, while the simulation in the time domain was executed using MATLAB. Impute parameters referred to as the sea states, in five levels, were described by the significant wave height Hs and the corresponding energy period Te, typical of the gulf. Output parameters are displacement, velocity, acceleration and force of the buoys, as well as the instantaneous power output of the WEC. For the levels considered, the optimum sea state for the two buoys peaked at level 4 (Hs = 1.5 m, Te = 14 s), with concave wedge buoy having an optimal power output of 8 kW while that of cone-cylinder being 3.7 kW. For the other levels the wedge buoy also consistently gives relatively greater power output than the cone cylinder buoy

Electrical energy is the most used energy today in daily activities and industry is increasing. In rural areas that do not have electricity still exists in Indonesia. In this study, it can be used as an alternative power plant that can be used by the countryside. The system used in this study is the new types of power plants, namely the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system. In connection with the problems stated above, through this research, an effort will be made to design an ORC power generation system. The ORC power plant system that will be designed utilizes solar energy sources and working fluids. Solar power is used to heat the heating fluid in the form of water. This heating water is used to vaporize the working fluid which can evaporate at low temperatures and high pressures. So that the working fluid gas can be used to rotate the turbine shaft and produce electrical energy through a generator. Simulation is done using energy system software. In addition to simulations, examples of manual calculations are also needed for validation. The simulation results of the ORC generating system design on the two working fluids produce the greatest power at the pump outlet pressure of 6 bar with Ẇnet of 13.61 kW and the smallest power is generated by the pump outlet pressure of 5.03kW. While the design simulation of the ORC generating system produces power close to 10 kW at the pump outlet pressure of 5 bars with 11.38 kW. The flat collector solar-plate system gets the energy that is useful for collectors of 191.92 W and an efficiency of 9.8%
