    Get PDF
Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Informatics reported internet users in Indonesia reached 150 million with a penetration of 56% in January 2019. This indicates the era of information disclosure; therefore, information on government performance is more easily obtained by all levels of society. Society is becoming more sensitive to government performance, and more feedback is being given to the government. This large amount of feedback has stimulated research on public sentiment analysis. This study compares the public sentiment analysis by two different approaches to the government performance of East Java Province. The study was comparing the lexicon-based method approach and the Support Vector Machine (SVM) from the machine learning approach. This study uses Twitter and Instagram datasets, and also the online news media web that reports on East Java. This study found that by using a combined data source of social media and online media, the lexicon-based approach produced an accuracy value of 57.7%; while the SVM machine learning method approach produces an accuracy of 44.7%

Reducing the Electrical Conductivity of ZnO/Ag Nanofiller for Solid Polymer Electrolytes Prepared by Laser Ablation in Polylactic Acid Solution

    Get PDF
Solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) are vital components of fast appearing technology for energy storage-conversion devices. Here, SPEs based on silver (Ag) and zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles are prepared by laser ablation in polylactic acid (PLA) at room temperature. The comparison study of PLA, PLA-ZnO, PLA-ZnO/Ag, and PLA-Ag -based SPEs is conducted in pursuance of the electrical conductivity obtained from electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) characterization. EIS provides comprehensive analyses, including DCand AC conductivities, dielectric constant, and electrical modulus of the samples. Our results show that PLA-ZnO exhibits an appreciable value of DC conductivity, which insignificantly decreases by Ag existence into PLA-ZnO/Ag. This study suggests that PLA-ZnO remains stable by Ag incorporation; hence, PLA-ZnO/Ag has a great potential as SPE

    Get PDF
The controlled morphology of mesoporous silica particle with colloidal silica as precursor solution was investigated using spray drying method. The colloidal silica solution was made from sodium silicate (waterglass) using sol-gel method. The operating condition of spray dring such as precursor solution volumetric rate and hot air flowrate was varied to study the effect of the silica particle’s morphology. Two-fluid nozzle was used as atomizer with volumetric rate ranged from 1.6 mL/min to 5 mL/min, and hot air heated from tubular furnace with flowrate ranged from 210 L/min to 414 L/min, both resulting doughnut-like shape with more doughnut fraction with increased volumetric rate. With the increase of volumetric rate from 1.6 mL/min to 5 mL/min, the surface area and total pore volume are tend to decrease (168.234 to 131.001 m2/g and 0.1652 to 0.1251 cc/g respectively). Meanwhile, for increasing hot air flowrate from 210 L/min to 414 L/min, the surface area are tend to increase (135.353 to 168.234 m2/g) but total pore volume tend to decrease (0.1921 to 0.1652 cc/g)

Penggunaan Fly Ash sebagai Agregat Buatan Pengganti Agregat Alami pada Campuran Beton

    Get PDF

The Characteristic of Variable Frequency Drive for Water Flow Control in the SFC Plant

    Get PDF
One of several techniques to control fluid flow-rate through a pump is using variable frequency drive.  This paper presents how experiment be able to perceive the characteristic of variable frequency drive (VFD) to control water flow-rate in the Simulator Flow Control (SFC) plant. The SFC plant is developed for a fluid course learning simulator. The user would be able to set the desired value of frequency or flow-rate through a convenient interface. To provide it, the characteristic of VFD-frequency-to-flow-rate must be firstly observed, as reported in this paper. The fluid flow-rate control is designed without an electric valve, but using VFD to drive the 250 Watt water pump. In this first development, the SFC Plant successfully work with various water flow-rate from 2 Liter per minute until 20 Liter per minute by changing the frequency input of VFD. The water flow-rate was measured by manual rotameter, the flow sensor has not been applied yet in this first development. In this experiment, the VFD’s frequency was set from 10 Hz to 36 Hz with 2 Hz intervals. Result showed that VFD frequency is proportional to water flow-rate. The higher frequency given to VFD, the faster rotational motor of water pump generated and then given rise to water flow-rate. Using linear graphic approach, the characteristic is shown through the linearity coefficient of 0,68 and constant value of 3.43. This characteristic value would be useful for open-loop-control and user interface programming in next step of development

Application of Bioclimatic Architecture Concept in Novotel Suite Surabaya

    Get PDF
The development of technology and industry in both developed and developing countries contributes to improve human life for the better. However, it causes an increase in energy consumption and environmental damage which produces global warming. In Asia, according to the data of ASEAN Center for Energy (ACE), 48% of global warming is generated by buildings. This phenomenon is very influential if it occurs in big cities. One of the ways to respond to this phenomenon is to apply sustainable architecture (bioclimatic architecture). Bioclimatic architecture is an architectural concept related to nature and its environment. In Indonesia, the city of Surabaya is the second-largest city. Surabaya is currently envisioned to be a green and smart city, in order to respond to the issue of global warming which currently becomes the center of discussion of all parties. Surabaya City is the second-largest city in which the real estate/property develops very rapidly, especially in commercial building such as hotels. In response to this, this study aimed to determine the application of the concept of Bioclimatic Architecture in one of the buildings in the city of Surabaya, namely the Hotel. The paradigm used in this study is the postpositivist paradigm. A case study was used as the research methodology with field observation techniques to find out whether the Hotel Novotel Surabaya applies the concept of Bioclimatic architecture. The result showed that Novotel applied the Concept of Bioclimatic Architecture into the buildings with a percentage of 94.3%

Politician’s Strategy After The Pandemic: Strengthening of Patronage Goods in The Form of Social Assistance

    Get PDF
This research describes and analyzes the strategies of politicians to attract voter support in electoral politics by providing patronage goods or club goods. The study of this strategy is increasingly relevant considering the Covid-19 pandemic that has emphasized to political actors the importance of social assistance (in Indonesian: bansos,etc.). In some areas, especially those with a flow-political landscape in the form of strong links between parties and social and religious organizations, it shows that local politicians are cooperating with organizations that share a platform with parties to distribute social assistance. However, this research confirms the academics' opinion, such as Edward Aspinall, who believe that giving from politicians with the motive of gaining mass support for party interests, and of course electoral politics, can be said to be an affirmation of patronage democracy. Through comparative analysis with several cases of social assistance distribution that have existed, this study strengthens the main thesis about patronage items as a binding of loyalty between the mass of voters whose numbers are very beneficial for parties and party politicians

There are many methods for calculating the bearing capacity of a pile foundation. The problem is finding the most representative method for analysis dynamic load testing (PDA) results in the field. This study only covers the areas of West Surabaya and North Surabaya. The method used to analyse the bearing capacity of the pile foundation in this study is the empirical method, namely the Schmertmann, Meyerhof, and L. Decourt method and the finite element method (FEM.). This research only for calculating the bearing capacity of precast pile foundations. The initial stage of the research was to collect soil survey data in the form of N-SPT boring logs and PDA test results in the area. Then the calculation analysis is carried out using the empirical method and FEM, which will be compared with the PDA results. FEM analysis uses dynamic load with pile-driving modelling, which is similar to PDA testing. After comparison, the researchers find some ratios for each calculation method and results of PDAs in the field of study. This study indicates that the most representative method for PDA results in West Surabaya is the Meyerhof method. For the North Surabaya area, these methods have not shown expected results of PDA results in the fiel
