Determination of Injection Molding Process Parameters using Combination of Backpropagation Neural Network and Genetic Algorithm Optimization Method
The polymer matrix composite (PMC) in use today is generally made of synthetic fibers which are expensive and not environmentally friendly. The use of synthetic fibers can be replaced with natural fibers, which are more environmentally friendly at a lower price. The natural fiber material used in this study is made from husks, with a particle size of 500 µm (mesh 35). In the PMC manufacturing process, rice husks are mixed with polypropylene (PP) and maleic anhydride polypropylene (MAPP) with a composition of 10 wt% RH, 85 wt% PP and 5 wt% MAPP. PMC materials using natural fibers are called biocomposite materials. The result of mixing PMC with natural fibers in the form of pellets is then carried out by the injection process using an injection molding machine. The printed results are in the form of tensile test specimens based on ASTM D 638-03 type V testing standards and impact test specimens based on ASTM D 256-04 testing standards. The research was conducted by optimizing the responses i.e. tensile strength and impact strength of the biocomposite material in the injection molding machine process, whereas varied process parameters, namely barrel temperature, injection pressure, holding pressure, injection velocity were selected as process parameters. The backpropagation neural network (BPNN) training method is used to recognize the pattern of the relationship between process parameters and response parameters based on the previous experiment, while the genetic algorithm (GA) optimization method is to determine the variation settings for process parameters that can optimize tensile and impact strength. The results of the BPNN training have a 4-9-9-2 network architecture consisting of 4 input layers, 2 hidden layers with 9 neurons, and 2 neurons in the output layer. Optimization with GA produces a combination of variable process parameters barrel temperature 217◦C, injection pressure 55 Bar, holding pressure 41 Bar and injection velocity 65 mm/sec. The results of statistical validation using one sample T test show that the average value of tensile strength and impact strength from the results of the confirmation experiment is the same as the value of the tensile strength and impact strength of the optimization prediction

Analisis Performa Eccentrically Braced Frames (EBF) Vertikal Link Menggunakan Wide Flange (WF) Link

Strategy for Growing the Business of Representative Office Company in Iron and Steel Industry
Iron and steel industry is among the essential strategic groups of the national industry since iron and steel products are not only raw materials for metal-based manufacture industries but also as pillars of development in infrastructure. The development of the iron and steel industry requires comprehensive handling; in the mastering of processing technology and the resources added value. The iron and steel industry is the “Backbone” in supporting the development of the national economy. Therefore, the Government’s role becomes crucial in developing the national iron and steel industry. Initially, the Indonesian steel industry was the largest in ASEAN, however over time, the position of Indonesian declines and no longer the largest. DAN is one of the three top manufacturers of plants and machines for the steel-making industry in the world. The unavailability of adequate government protection to domestic producers made imported steel products streamed heavily in all upstream and downstream sectors. This situation made the steel producer cannot grow and become stagnant in income; it cannot compete in costs; therefore, cannot invest and innovate effectively. The unavailability of the significant investment made DAN business in Indonesia become tough to grow. The purpose of the research is to develop a business strategy for DAN representative office to grow its business in Indonesia and choose a value proposition to the Indonesian market. To achieve the research objective, data collection in the method of interviews into Indonesia iron and steel industry stakeholders, along with a direct survey questionnaire into the experts to understanding industry situation and stakeholders' perspective of DAN overall performance. The various analysis framework, named PESTEL, Five Forces Porter, SWOT, were utilized to understand Indonesia iron and steel market, and company internal advantages and disadvantages in responding to it. The result of strategies is implemented with sequences: costing evaluation, financing support, human resources, partnership development, and investment
Lean Mining Analysis in Gold Mining Use Waste Assessment Model
This research identifies non-value added activities and minimizes waste in the production process at a gold mine. Problems that occur include the presence of waste defects in the form of choke ore materials, mismatches in dore bullion printing, and equipment damage. Then the waste waiting caused by low-level bin ore and the presence of ponding during leaching. In addition, there is also waste over processing in the form of carbon regeneration and transportation processes in the form of altered and distant ore transportation distances. The occurrence of waste can be reduced/eliminated using the Lean Mining approach which is a method to streamline the process by eliminating/reducing the presence of waste in the mining process. Identify waste using the Waste Assessment Model (WAM) tools. The results of the analysis show that the highest waste rating is a defect, motion, waiting, and process with successive percentages of the largest i.e. 20.75%, 18.42%, 17.57%, and 14.36%. From these results then recommendations for improvements that can be proposed are controlling the size and composition of ore-sized mixtures, increasing the efficiency of the crusher using TPM analysis, optimizing maintenance, making machines/systems automatically filling gold solutions, and making standardized wor
High-Stability Foam of Silica Nanofluid to Overcome Liquid Loading in Enhancing Natural Gas Production
One of the promising solutions to overcome the liquid loading problem in natural gas production is using a foaming agent. The extreme condition in the gas well causes the foam used tends to break up. Therefore, it is required to enhance the foam stability by adding a stabilizer agent. This research aims to investigate the effect of silica nanoparticles as a surfactant stabilizer to obtain a high-stability foam using silica nanofluid. Silica nanofluid was synthesized from sodium silicate solution by the solgel method. Then, the colloidal silica was added to the surfactant solution without a coupling agent. The effects of aging time and silica concentration were investigated. The results show that the surface tension tends to increase with the increase of aging time and silica concentration but decrease in foam stability which is indicated by a decrease in the foam half-life time. The best foam stability is obtained in silica nanofluids with an aging time of 6 hours and a silica concentration of 30 ppm, which shows a foam half-life of 42 hours and can improve foam stability with several parameters representing the conditions of the gas wel
Integrated Transportation – Inventory Model for Outbound Logistics Optimization Hajariyah Agustina and Budi Santosa Departemen of Management Technology, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya e-mail: [email protected] of Cement
In the cement industry, supply chain management has an important role in determining competitiveness from inbound logistics to outbound logistics. PT X is the largest cement company in Indonesia with market share about 53% in 2019. The Company’s key strategy is supply chain optimization to achieve logistics and transportation cost efficiency and also prioritizing service level to meet customer needs. Outbound logistics optimization in PT X can be approached with the Integrated Transportation-Inventory (ITI) model. ITI is a model that integrates transportation and inventory decisions. In addition, ITI can also determine inventory levels, production quantities and backorder decisions. The application of ITI at PT X case study is categorized as multiple to multiple supply chain configurations, transshipment, multi-period, multi-product, allowing for back orders, and deterministic demand. The results of simulations of ITI models can be used as a basis sales planning and production. In this research, the ITI model solved with simplex solver method on Lingo 18, which has features to improve computational processes of a large scale cases. The development of the ITI model in optimizing outbound logistics at PT X provides efficiency and effectiveness of distribution strategy to meet customer demand. Simulation results show that optimization of outbound logistics using the ITI model is able to save costs by 1.86% (worth 117 billion) compared to existing conditions
Visitors Needs Analysis in Mall XYZ with Text Mining Analysis
Mall is a shopping center consisting of the main tenants (anchors), retail, shops, services, and public facilities that are built, managed, and arranged by the manager with the aim of conducting interaction between visitors and sellers. In 2018 Surabaya City had 33 malls or 50.77% of the total number of malls in East Java, this shows that the mall population in Surabaya City is very high. Mall XYZ is one of the malls that stood in the city of Surabaya and has been operating for one year. This mall still has not shown a development that is not optimal because of the many complaints from tenants to building management related to the sale of products that do not reach the target, as a result tenants often violate the rules (house rules) that have been set by managers to break the cooperation contract between building management and tenants unilaterally . To find out the cause of these conditions, text mining methods are used to filter reviews from visitors filtered from the Mall XYZ Google page. of the existing reviews classification will be based on reviews that contain positive and negative sentiment. review with positive sentiment becomes an appreciation that must be maintained and improved while a review containing negative sentiment becomes a complaint that must be addressed by the building management as the mall manager
