The Production of Gelatin from Snapper Scales (Lutjanus camphecanus Sp.) through Enzymatic Pretreatment
Fish wastes such as fish bones and scales have a potential to be used as a gelatin source. It can be used as an alternative material to replace pork or bovine which ordinarily conflicted with religion issue. Gelatin from fish has different characteristics compared with mammalian source. It has several advantageous properties such as high amount of hydrophobic amino acids, less proline and hydroxy proline, lower gelling ability, and melting point. In this study, gelatin was produced from fish waste especially snapper scales using the bromelain enzyme at the pre-treatment stage to improve its characteristic. The snapper scales soaking in hot water at 80⁰C for about 30 minutes to remove the fat which attached the scales. A pre-treatment has been conducted using bromelain enzyme solution at various concentrations of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% and 5% for 6 hours to remove non-collagenous proteins and loosen the bonds of the fish scales. The next step is demineralization using a 15% concentration of citric acid solution for 3 days. The ossein formed in the demineralization stage was then hydrolyzed at 50⁰C and 70⁰C for 9 hours with stirring at 300 rpm. The best gelatin yield was obtained from the pretreatment of bromelain enzyme solution with a concentration of 3% at a hydrolysis temperature of 70⁰C with a yield of 9.13%, pH value of 3.86, water content of 8%, ash content of 0.80%. FTIR spectra shows the presence of functional groups correspond to gelatin formation, such as carbon, hydrogen, hydroxyl group (O-H), carbonyl group (C=O), amine group (N-H) and alkene group (C=C). The heavy metal content test showed that the gelatin contained no heavy metal content of lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) and arsenic (As)

Improvement of Soundscapes Based on Noise Control in Urban Forest as an Effort to Fulfill Quality of Green Open Space Standards
Urban forests play an important role in green open spaces. Urban forests have aesthetic functions and social functions that refer to the quality standards. Urban noise causes city forest soundscapes to be less comfortable and less aesthetic so that its function as a green open space is not fulfilled. This study aims to improve the quality of sound in urban forests (soundscape) based on the quality of green open space standards through noise control and find out the type of improvement most preferred by visitors. The quality of standard of green open space is pursued through sound masking, active noise cancellation, and convolution in sound signal conditioning. The convoluted sound signal is traffic noise with a convolved signal in the form of bird noise, water rush, and relaxation music. From the results of the improvement of the sound signal then tested on 30 respondents through a comparison test method. The subjective acoustic parameters of the environment are identified, which includes the value of the autocorrelation function (τ1, φ1) and dynamic range (DR). Efforts to improve the quality of acoustics based on the quality of green open space the most preferred by respondents were sound masking and ANC with birdsong with successive scores 4.44 and 2.78. The results of identification of traffic noise treated by ANC and sound masking with songbird obtained values DR = 32.35 dBA, τ1 = 0.73 s, and φ1 = 0.03. These parameters describe these sounds tend to be preferred because the human ear is more sensitive with high pitch and DR
PHYSICS AND SHEAR STRENGTH PARAMETER CORRELATION USING MODIFIED DIRECT SHEAR IN CRACKED SOIL
The theory of landslides due to cracks on the surface of the slope / cliff is known as the cracked soil theory. Several studies about shear parameters of cracked soil had been carried out. The latest research was about soil physical and shear strength parameters correlation in soft to stiff consistency soil. The soil conditions in that research were less representative of the slope / cliff soil consistency that can be very stiff. Therefore, further research for medium to very stiff consistency was conducted. Cracked test specimens were tested using water pressure variations and showed that water pressure had no significant effect. In cracked soils, the friction angle was not affected by the void ratio of the soil. Empirical formula for cracked soil at medium to very stiff consistency were for LL < 50%; Ø = 22˚ and LL ≥ 50%, Ø = -0.0024 LL2 + 0.2062 LL + 17.514
Optimization Design Analysis of Boiler Blowdown Utilization on A Rotary Coal Dryer with Drum Tilt Angle Variations
Lignite coal has dominated the use of steam power plants in recent years. Despite the consequences, which cause many problems, lignite is cheap and easy to obtain. One of the problems was mitigated by reducing the moisture content using a rotary coal dryer. Coal dryer is deemed uneconomical with the current energy sources from turbine extraction steam, electric heaters, and exhaust gas using large-powered fans. The waste energy from boiler blowdown, a water-vapored fluid discharged from the boiler to maintain water and steam quality, is being conducted to improve. Blowdown investigated in a rotary coal dryer type. The compressed air absorbed the heat from the blowdown through the steam coil. The hot air mixed with the coal in the rotary drum. A rotary drum was tested with the tilt angles of 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, 40°, 50°, 60°, 70°, 80°, and 90°. The research steps were designing, preliminary modeling, numerical analysis, prototyping, and experimental performing. The result shows that the moisture content has decreased significantly from 35.37% to 21.28%, within an angle of 10°. Based on an economic assessment, this coal dryer also proves that dried lignite coal has increased 4.9% economic value than bituminous coal
Evaluasi Parameter Fisikokimia, Farmakokinetika, dan Farmakodinamika Senyawa Fisetin Dalam Desain Obat
Fisetin is a flavonoid with flavonol framework found in various fruits and vegetables such as strawberries, apples, persimmons, lotus root, grapes, onions, kiwi, peaches, and others. Fisetin with four hydroxyl and one oxo groups shows biological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, and anticancer. Thus, fisetin becomes an interesting target for finding alternative therapeutic agents. However, more than 50% of drug candidates fail due to poor absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity (ADMET) analysis. This research studied the physicochemical, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamic parameters of fisetin to avoid those problems by using PreADMET, SwissADME, dan Molinspiration. The results revealed good physicochemical parameters for fisetin with potential to be used as oral or transdermal. Fisetin was known to be quite easy synthesized, crossed the BBB, non-toxic, not carcinogenic in mice, and had a medium cardiotoxicity. Furthermore, fisetin inhibited kinases, nuclear receptor ligands, and enzymes. It was moderate as GPCR ligands and ion channel modulators
Revitalisasi Desain Interior Pasar Tradisional Berdasarkan Preferensi Pengguna
Abstract—A traditional market is an institution of social relations where business transactions are carried out, which still maintains its traditional characteristics. In today's context, the 'traditional' characteristics in question are the image of a damp, shabby place that has slippery floors and narrow alleys. Even so, traditional markets are still in demand for various reasons. Therefore, it is necessary to revitalize traditional markets in order to better facilitate users, including from an interior design point of view. This research examines user interest in revitalizing the interior design of the traditional market through a poll. The results of the poll through the questionnaire method were used to produce a design recommendation that could be applied to the case object, namely the Puspa 1 and 2 buildings in Puspa Agro Jatim.
