    Financial Feasibility Analysis of Small Scale Rubber Farming (Hevea brasiliensis) in Tering Seberang village, Tering Sub Disrict of West Kutai Regency.  This resarch was implemented from February to April 2013 and its objective was to count production cost, rubber farm income, and to assess rubber farm feasibility, as well as to indentify problems faced and its alternative solutions. The research was data were compiled with purposive sampling method at 20% precision level where from the total 20 respondents, 5 of them were taken to represent their group. The data were collected through questionnaire, interiew, literature review, and field observation, then they were classified and tabulated based on production cost and farm income, as well as their financial analysis. Results of the research revealed that the small scale rubber farming management Tering Seberang Village, Tering Sub District of west Kutai District had Net Present Value (NPV) > 0, it was Rp. 31.393.740 at 18% interset rate; Net Benefit Cost ( B/C ratio > 1 it was 4,84 at 18% interset rate; Gross B/C Ratio > 1, it was 2.04 at 18% interset rate; Internal Rate of Return (IRR) 16.8% at the year six or 28.8% at the year seven; and Payback Period (18%) was at 6 years 2 months 16 days

    Pest and Disease Identification Shorea leprosula Miq in Kutai National Park Resort Sangkima East Kutai regency of East Kalimantan Province. The purpose of this study were: (1) To determine the frequency of pest and disease types meranti Shorea leprosula Miq. (2) To determine the intensity of pests and defect types meranti Shorea leprosula Miq. (3) To determine whether or not the prevention and control of pests and plant diseases meranti types Shorea leprosula Miq. This research was conducted in the Kutai National Park Resort Sangkima East Kutai in East Kalimantan Province. This study was conducted for two months effective the month of August 2012 until September 2012.The results of the research area of 1 ha with observations census found 11 Shorea leprosula Miq trees, with one tree physically healthy, 8 mild stricken trees, one tree is being attacked, and 1 heavy stricken trees. Arise and the presence of pests and plant diseases are often referred to as crop pests on crops and forests natural forests are mostly human intervention. From the calculation of the frequency of attacks on research plots by 91%, which means that almost all types of Shorea leprosula Miq indicated no pests and diseases while 9% were healthy. From the calculation of the intensity of pests and diseases of plants Shorea leprosula Miq, including the intensity of the attack was broken by 29.5%. Based on the identification of some pests and fungal diseases like cancer, stem, leaves and termite holes. The research concluded that the frequency of pest and disease Shorea leprosula Miq by 91%, the intensity of pests and diseases of the damaged condition of the stand, including 29.5% with the intensity of the attacks, control of pests and plant diseases do not need to be done because the condition only affected stands were . Recommended based on observation of pests and diseases types Shorea leprosula Miq need for monitoring human activities that can lead to new pests and diseases in forests Resort Sangkima which can reduce the quality and growth of the forest it self

    Effect Of Application Time and NPK Fertilizer Dosage on The Growth of Sweet Corn (Zea Mays Saccharata Sturt), Sweet Boys Variety.  Research objectives: 1. To determine the effect of time and dose of NPK fertilizer and their interaction on the growth of rainbow corn crop. 2. Time and dose of NPK fertilizer on the growth of rainbow sweet corn is a good crop.The research was conducted in a randomized completc block design arranged (RCBD) with a 2 x 4 factorial analysis and repeated twice. The first factor when fertilizer (W) consists of three levels namely: w1 = initial planting, w2 = one month after planting. The second factor fertilizer NPK Pelangi (K) consists of four levels: k0 = Without NPK fertilizer (control), k1 = 61.2 g plot -1 equivalent to 100 g ha -1, k2 = 122.4 g plot -1 equivalent with 200 g ha -1, k3 = 183.6 g plot -1 ha -1 equivalenltol300g.Timing of fertilizer treatment (W) gives no real effect on the average height of plant age 15 days, 30 days, age at exit female flowers, male flowers, cob girth, wet production and production of the fruit cob cob without cornhusk but highly significant the plant height 45 days, ear length. Average yield of cobs without klobot wet weight was obtained on treatment w1 (NPK fertilizer rainbow After onelmonthloflplanting)lofl6.77ltonneslha-1. Treatment NPK Pelangi (K) highly significant effect on plant height age of 30.40 days, ear length, ear diameter, fresh weight of the fruit without klobot cobs and cobs without klobot production. Average yield wet weight cob without klobot obtained at treatment NPK rainbow k3 (183.6 mg plot-1) of 6.77 tonnes ha-1. Treatment interaction (WxK) and NPK rainbow tillage were not significantly different in all the observed variables

    The objective of research was to study the response of long bean and its interaction upon the application of NPK Pelangi fertilizer and Nasa liquid organic fertilizer, as well as to find proper dosage for gaining better production of long bean.  The research was carried out from March to May 2013, at Melapeh Baru Village of Linggang Bigung Sub-District, West Kutai Regency.  The Randomised Block Design was employed for the research with factorial 4 x 4 and 3 replications.  The first factor was dosage of NPK Pelangi fertilizer (P) consisted of 4 sub-factors: no NPK Pelangi fertilizer application (p0), 1 kg/plot (p1), 3 kg/plot (p2), and 5 kg/plot (p3).  And the second factor was concentration of Nasa liquid organic fertilizer (N): no Nasa liquid organic fertilizer application (n0), 2 cc/liter-1 water (n1), 4 cc/liter-1 water (n2), and 6 cc/liter-1 water (n3).  Results of the research revealed that: (1) the dosage of NPK Pelangi fertilizer (P) affected significantly on the crop length, age of 80% crop flowered, number of fruit per crop, fruit length per crop.  The highest production was attained by the 5 kg/plot (p3) treatment with 4,9250 kg , and the least one was attained by the no NPK Pelangi fertilizer application (p0) treatment with only 2,9167 kg; (2) the Nasa liquid organic fertilizer application affect significantly on crop length, age of 80% crop flowered, number of fruit per crop, fruit weight per crop, fruit length, and production per crop.   The highest production was attained by 6 cc/liter-1 water (n3) treatment with 4,4833 kg , and the least one was attained by the no Nasa liquid organic fertilizer application (p0) treatment with only 2,9167 ; and (3) the interaction between the two above factors also affected significantly on crop length, age of 80% crop flowered, fruit weight per crop, fruit length per crop, production per crop.  The highest production was attained by the 5 kg/plot and 6 cc/liter-1 water (p3n3) treatment with 5,6333 kg, and the least one was attained by no application of NPK Pelangi and Nasa liquid organic fertilizer (p0n0) treatment with only 2,4667 kg

    Feasibility Study of Rubber Farming (Hevea brasiliensis) in Bunga Putih Village, Sub district of Marangkayu, Kutai Regency.  This research has been done and achieved purpose, namely, (1) Knowing the cost, revenue and profitability of smallholder rubber farmers per hectare per year in the village of Bunga Putih, Marangkayu district, Kutai Kertanegara regency, namely Fixed Cost (Invest) of Rp 18,430,000.00, and the production of Rp.14,980,000.00 / ha / yr. (2) Knowing the constraints and opportunities in the development of smallholder rubber plants in the study sites, among others: the strategic location of the village, a flat topography, and utilization of rubber tree that does not bear to, building materials , furniture and firewood.The obstacles include: limitations of their knowledge of the management of rubber plantations.(3) Provide a clear picture of the benefits of rubber farmers, using a financial method.(4) Provide input information for the Department of Agriculture in order to be a material consideration in determining policy especially for the continuity of the development of the rubber farmers' efforts, especially in determining the standard price and marketing system

    Objectives of the research were to study the effect of type and concentration  foliar fertilizer, as well as their interaction on the growth and yield of Eggplant; and to find proper type and consentration of foliar fertilizer for better growth and production of Eggplant.  The research was carried out from July to October 2012, since preparation of growing media until crop harvested.  It was held at Experiment at Simpang Pait Village, Long Ikis Subdistrict, Paser District, Provinsi of East Kalimantan.   The research employed Completely Randomised Design (CRD) with factorial 2 x 5 experiment and 4 replications.  The first factor was type of foliar fertilizer (J), that consisted of two levels, namely:  Green Tonik (j1), and Supranik (j2). The second factor was concentration of foliar fertilizer (K), that consisted of five levels, namely: no foliar fertilizer as control (k0); 1,0 ml l-1 water (k1); 2,0 ml l-1 water (k2); 3,0 ml l-1 water (k3), and 4,0 ml l-1 water (k4).  Results of the experiment indicated that : (1) foliar fertilizer types (J) affect very significantly on plant height at 28, 42, and 56 days after planting, but it did not affect significantly on plant height 14 days after planting, blooming time, harvest time, number of fruit, and weight of fruit; (2) concentration of foliar fertilizer (K) affect significantly on plant height at 14, 21, 28 and 42  days after planting, and weight of fruit, but it did not significantly on blooming time, harvest time, and number of fruit.  The highest weight of fruit was attained on the 4,0 ml l-1 water treatment (k4) with 0,58 kg plant-1 while the worst one was on the no foliar fertilizer treatment (k0) with 0,49 kg plant-1; and (3) the interaction between those two factors did not affect significantly on all parameters observed, but it did affect significantly on plant height 24 days after planting

    Sulphur Potential of Water Hyacinth {Eichhornia crassipes (Martt.) Solm} Bokashi in Improving The Quality and Yield of Rice in Inceptisols. The objectives of research were to find out sulphur potential of  hyacinth bokashi in improving the quality and yield of rice in Inceptisols. The experiment was conducted from April 2012 to October 2012 in a Greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University, Subdistrict Jatinangor, Regency Sumedang, West Java Province, at elevation of 782 m above sea level. Randomized Block Design (RBD) was used factorial pattern and repeated three times. The first factor was the dosage of sulphur (S) fertilizer consisted of : without S fertilizer; 20; 40; and 60 kg ha-1 S fertilizer, and the second factor was dosage of water hyacinth bokashi (B) consisted of: without bokashi; 15; 30; and 45 t ha-1 bokashi. Water hyacinth {Eichhornia crassipes (Martt.) Solm} bokashi is a superior organic matter with an excess of element sulphur.  The preliminary experiment result interaction between sulphur fertilizer and water hyacinth bokashi on total S, available SO42-, total N, C-organic, available P,  Zn, uptake S, N and yield effect occurred between give an  uptake P but not significant on Fe and uptake P.  The independent influence sulphur fertilizer and water hyacinth bokashi effect on soil availableP.  The analysis respons optimum dosage of sulphur was 45.52 kg ha-1 and bokashi water hyacinth was 35.99 t ha-1  to yield of rice plat obtained was 9.27 t ha-1.  Multiple regretion between respons parameters with yield of rice plant obtained was  available P, uptake P, and available SO42-, gave efffect to yield and R2 = 0.70**, 70 percent gave significant contributions to yield by available P, uptake P, and available SO42 on Inceptisols

    Objectives of the research were : (1) to study the effect of NPK Pelangi fertilizer abd Grow Team M foliar spray fertilizer, as well as their interaction on the growth and yield of tomato; (2) to find profer dosage of NPK Pelangi fertilizer and proper concentration of Grow Team M foliar spray fertilizer for better growth and yield of tomato.  The research was carried out from January to May 2013, since preparation of growing media until crop harvested. It was held at Melak Ilir Urban Village, Melak Sub-District, West Kutai District.  The Completely Randomised Design was employed for this research with factorial 4 x 4 and 4 replications.  The first factor was NPK Pelangi fertilizer dosage (N) that consisted of 4 levels: no NPK Pelangi fertilizer application (n0), 125 kg ha-1 equals to 1,25 g polybag-1 (n1), 250 kg ha-1 equals to 2,50 g polybag-1 (n2), and 375 kg ha-1 equals to 3,75 g polybag-1 (n3).  And the second factor was Grow Team M foliar spray concentration (D) that consisted of 4 levels: no Grow Team M foliar spray fertilizer application (d0), 1 ml per litre  water (d1), 2 ml per litre  water (d2), and 3 ml per litre  water (d3).  Results of the research revealed that: (1) the NPK Pelangi fertilizer affected very significantly on the plant height at 2, 4, and 6 weeks after sowing, days of crop firstly flowered, days of crop harvested, number of fruit per crop, weight per fruit, and fruit weight per crop.  The weighest fruit was attained by 375 kg ha-1 equals to 3,75 g polybag-1 treatment (n3), namely 195,83 g per crop.  Whereas the lightest one was by no NPK Pelangi fertilizer application treatment (n0) with only 120,83 g per crop; (2) the Grow Team M foliar spray concentration affected very significantly  on the plant height at 2, 4, and 6 weeks after sowing, days of crop firstly flowered, days of crop harvested, number of fruit per crop, weight per fruit, and fruit weight per crop.  The weighest fruit was attained by 2 ml per litre water treatment (d2), namely 192,50 g per crop and the lightest one was by no Grow Team M foliar spray fertilizer application treatment (d0) with only 159,17 g per crop; and (3) the interaction between those two factors affected significant until very significantly on the  plant height at 2, 4, and 6 weeks after sowing and number of fruit per crop, but it did not give significant on the days of crop firstly flowered, days of crop harvested, weight per fruit, and fruit weight per crop.

    Feasibility Study of Curly Chilli Farming (Capsicum annum L.) in the urban village of Lempake, North Samarinda sub district, Samarinda Municipality.  The purpose of this study were: (1) To determine the revenue and profit economically curly chili farming and (2) to determine the withdrawal or efensiensi curly chili farm in the Village District Lempake North Samarinda.The study was conducted from September to October 2012 in the Village district Lempake North Samarinda.Sampling for the study were calculated using proportional Stratiefied Random Sampling, respondents selected the peasant farming chili seeking kinky as 10 farmers. Data collected consists of: primary data and secondary data. The data include: total cost, Revenue, Revenue, break even point and efensiensi their farm.The result showed that: (1) income curly chili farming in one growing season is Rp73.902,149,- with an average of Rp 7.390,215,/ha, (2) the cost of production significantly affect the income generated by farming chilli curls and (3) R/C ratio 2,39 average which means that for every expenditure of Rp 15,000- you will get a revenue of  Rp 38,350,

    The results of the research showed that the forest of Wosi Rendani protection has slope 21.9% (score 60), soil type podsolic/ ultisol (Score 60) and 12.86 rain intensity (score 10), altitude 210 m asl,  with a total score of 130 as a buffer zone.  Perceptions of respondents unanimously positive 64.17% and 75% attitude towards local community-based management. This is due to the location of protected areas that are near human settlements and local immigrant who feared if the protected forest next to landslides and people lack of clean water.  Inside the forest, there is an object HLWR areas and attractions such as waterfalls, caves, springs, pools that can be used as the establishment of protected forest.  Protected forest of Rendani Wosi area has considerable potential to support regional management efforts such as the potential for flora and fauna, water, waterfalls and springs and caves as well as the support of the community around the area, but the legality of the area there has been no major obstacles in the management of this protected fores
