    Get PDF
In order to generate the electricity from the wind turbine system with a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) to the three-phase grid connected system, it is very challenging because the electricity generated from wind energy resource is inconstancy. In this paper, the electrical power between the two systems are regulated by PI controller. For tuning the gains of PI controller, artificial intelligent methods, particle swarm optimization (PSO), gravitational search algorithm (GSA), artificial neural networks (ANN), are applied. The experiments of the control systems are testing at 200 w and 400 w. The experimental results show that the rise time of an electrical power of control system at 200 w tuning gains of the PI controller by ANN combined with PSO is better than the traditional tuning methods, pole placement. Therefore, the proposed intelligent system can not only reduce the overshoot of the active power but also improve the response power

The System on Chip (SoC) integrates the number of processing elements (PE) with different application requirements on a single chip. The SoC uses bus-based interconnection with shared memory access. However, buses are not scalable and limited to particular interface protocol. To overcome these problems, The Network on Chip (NoC) is an emerging interconnect solution with a scalable and reliable solution over SoC. The bridge model is essential to communicate the NoC based system on SoC. In this article, a cost-effective and efficient bridge model with ethernet-MAC is designed and also the placement of the bride with NoC based system is prototyped on Artix-7 FPGA. The Bridge model mainly contains FIFO modules, Serializer and de-serializer, priority-based arbiter with credit counter, packet framer and packet parser with Ethernet-MAC transceiver Module. The bridge with a single router and different sizes of the NoC based systems with mesh topology are designed using adaptive-XY routing. The performance metrics are evaluated for bridge with NoC in terms of average latency and maximum throughput for different Packet Injection Rate (PIR)

Nowadays, the development of technology and the growing need for dense and complex chips have led chip industries to increase their attention on the circuit testability. Also, using the electronic chips in certain industries, such as the space industry, makes the design of fault tolerant circuits a challenging issue. Coding is one of the most suitable methods for error detection and correction. The residue code, as one of the best choices for error detection aims, is wildly used in large arithmetic circuits such as multiplier and also finds a wide range of applications in processors and digital filters. The modulus value in this technique directly effect on the area overhead parameter. A large area overhead is one of the most important disadvantages especially for testing the small circuits. The purpose of this paper is to study and investigate the best choice for residue code check base that is used for simple and small circuits such as a simple ripple carry adder. The performances are evaluated by applying stuck-at-faults and transition-faults by simulators. The efficiency is defined based on fault coverage and normalized area overhead. The results show that the modulus 3 with 95% efficiency provided the best result. Residue code with this modulus for checking a ripple carry adder, in comparison with duplex circuit, 30% improves the efficiency

Recently, there is increasing interest in mental support activities, including mental health care, counseling, and mental training in workplaces, schools, and sports teams. As a background to these things, various analysis methods have been developed to clarify and visualize the subject’s mental state based on these data. We tried to reveal and visualize the transition patterns of the subjects’ mental states by analyzing their utterances. Furthermore, we developed an interactive system of visualization of psychological state to support visual understanding of psychological topology. Features have been implemented to enable multidimensional data to visualize the movements shown on the SOM map. In this paper, we describe the system that can interactively visualize psychological states

Adaptive Parameter Control Strategy for Ant-Miner Classification Algorithm

    Get PDF
Pruning is the popular framework for preventing the dilemma of overfitting noisy data. This paper presents a new hybrid Ant-Miner classification algorithm and ant colony system (ACS), called ACS-AntMiner. A key aspect of this algorithm is the selection of an appropriate number of terms to be included in the classification rule. ACS-AntMiner introduces a new parameter called importance rate (IR) which is a pre-pruning criterion based on the probability (heuristic and pheromone) amount. This criterion is responsible for adding only the important terms to each rule, thus discarding noisy data. The ACS algorithm is designed to optimize the IR parameter during the learning process of the Ant-Miner algorithm. The performance of the proposed classifier is compared with related ant-mining classifiers, namely, Ant-Miner, CAnt-Miner, TACO-Miner, and Ant-Miner with a hybrid pruner across several datasets. Experimental results show that the proposed classifier significantly outperforms the other ant-mining classifiers

    Get PDF
This paper introduces a fast and accurate object detection algorithm based on a convolutional neural network for humanoid marathon robot applications. The algorithm is capable of operating on a low-performance CPU without relying on the GPU or hardware accelerator. A new region proposal algorithm, based on color segmentation, is proposed to extract a region containing a potential object. As a classifier, the convolution neural network is used to predict object classes from the proposed region. In the training phase, the classifier is trained with an Adam optimizer to minimize the loss function, using datasets collected from humanoid marathon competitions and diversified using image augmentation. An NVIDIA GTX 1070 training machine, with 500 batch images per epoch and a learning rate of 0.001, required 12 seconds to minimize the loss value below 0.0374. In the accuracy evaluation, the proposed method successfully recognizes and localizes three classes of marker with a training accuracy of 99.929%, validation accuracy of 99.924%, and test accuracy of 98.821%. As a real-time benchmark, the algorithm achieves 41.13 FPS while running on a robot computer with Intel i3-5010U CPU @ 2.10GHz

The response time for remote monitoring and control in real-time systems is a sensitive issue in device interconnection elements. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the traffic of the communication system in pre-established time windows. In this paper, a methodology based on computational intelligence is proposed for identifying the availability of a data channel and the variables or characteristics that affect the performance and data transfer, which is made up of four stages: a) integration of a communication system with an acquisition module and a final control structure; b) communication channel characterization by means of traffic variables; and c) relevance analysis from the characterization space using SFFS (sequential forward oating selection); d) Channel congestion classification as Low or High using a classifier based on Naive Bayes algorithm. The experimental setup emulates a real process using an on/off remote control of a DC motor on an Ethernet network. The communication time between the client and server was integrated with the operation and control times, to study the whole response time. This proposed approach allows support decisions about channel availability, to establish predictions about the length of the time window when the availability conditions are unknown

    Get PDF
This paper describes the analysis of the wireless power transmission including recent progresses in non-radiative wireless power transmission (WPT) and the improvement methods. Generally, WPT transmitter side consists of a DC supply voltage source, inverter/power amplifier, transmitter impedance matching device (IMD), source resonator and primary coil. The WPT receiver meanwhile consists of the secondary coil, device resonator, receiver IMD, rectifier and load. In order to achieve an efficient WPT, the WPT transmitter must transmit energy with minimum loss at the receiver side.  This setup can be achieved by employing the power amplifier (PA). In this paper, the power amplifier in wireless power transmission for portable devices was designed. A Class E power amplifier was proposed and designed to improve the WPT transmitter side. The effects of zero voltage and zero derivative voltage switching on PA with optimization method was also discussed
