Expanding Brand Personality Congruence to Brand Personality Fit: The Importance of Customer Value Proposition as aModerating Fit on Brand Performance
This research demonstrates that brand performance can be enhanced not only through brand personality congruence with customer personality, but also through brand personality fit, namely the moderating fit of customer value proposition to brand personality. Through a study covering 125 brands, the result demonstrates that the moderating fit between brand personality and the different level of customer value proposition positively affects brand performance. Price-quality relationship for attribute-based customer value, self-construal for consequences-based customer value and self-regulatory focus as goal-based customer value are used to test this moderating fit relationship. Other findings show that this moderating fit is strongest toward the brand cognitive performance. Finally, the result of this study suggests marketers to incorporate the brand personality design into their positioning statement so that the overall customer value proposition can be developed in a more integrated manner, leading to higher brand performanceKeywords: brand personality, brand personality congruence, customer value hierarchy, price-quality relationship, self-construal, and self-regulatory focu
Global Brands and Consumer Ethnocentrism of Youth Soft Drink Consumers in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia
Indonesia is a large market for consumer products targeting youth consumers, with populations of more than 70 million young inhabitants and market size of USD 155 billion. The large size of this potential market attracts foreign products with globallyrecognized brands to enter the Indonesian market. The objective of this study is to explain the purchase intention of youth consumers toward a particular brand of soft drink with global penetration by their perceptions and ethnocentrism. This study obtained response from 156 youths in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia. The resulting data was analyzed using structural equation modeling with LISREL software package. The study found that consumer ethnocentrism decreases purchase intention, both directly and indirectly through brand image. Contrary to the hypothesis, consumer ethnocentrism does not influence corporate image of the global firm, which significantly influences brand image but only slightly impacts purchase intentions directly.

Anxiety, Sadness, and Emotion Specificity: The Role of Music in Consumer Emotion and Advertisement Evaluation
Although music could diversely influence consumer judgment process and behavior, it is still unclear whether music can evoke discrete emotions on consumers and influence consumer evaluation toward certain advertisements. This research proposes that music could evoke sad and anxious emotion on consumers; subsequently, consumers would regulate their negative emotions in accordance to their emotion orientations: Consumers who feel sad would show high evaluation toward happy-themed advertisement, while consumers who feel anxious would show high evaluation toward calm-themed advertisement. This paper concludes with the discussion of theoretical and practical implications and conclusion of this study. Keywords: emotion, affect regulation, music psychology, advertisin

Influences of Antecendent and Outcome Factors on The Speed of New Product Development: A Study of SME Companies in Indonesia
The research’s objective is doing an empirical test toward research conducted by Menon & Lukas (2004), which generates 6 propositions of antecedent and outcome factors in the velocity of new product development. The literature theory based on theory of new product development speed (PDS) with antecendent and outcome factors. The research towards 63 respondent managers of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) companies in Jabodetabek, Indonesia. Six propositions are developed into 6 hypotheses, which are then subject to a statistical test using LVS. Goodness-of-fit test informs that 6 hypotheses are eligible and so does the Measurement-fit test. Test towards 6 hypotheses using significance level of 0.05 with t value of > 1.96 confirms that the data support 5 hypotheses, except for hypothesis number 6 which states that Product Development Speed has no influence on the Orga- nizational Stress. The results provide managerial, theoretical insight and implication that are useful for New Product Development Speed.
Selecting better attributes in third-party hotel reservation Web sites: A comparative analysis
Internet has been viewed by many travel organizations as an innovative and competitive marketing tool in offering travel-related information and online transaction opportunities (Doolin et al., 2002). But, Internet also has proportionate opportunities to appear new intermediaries in the new hotel value chain (Connolly et al., 1998). A substantial portion of online room reservations continues to be accounted by the third-party Web sites (Law and Cheung, 2006). Hotels have been actively involved in multi-channel distribution in order to sell products and services more efficiently using a combination of traditional and electronic channels. It is important for organizations to rely on the channels that best match the organizational goals (O’Connor and Frew, 2004).The methodology for the experiment follows Statistical Design of Experiments (SDE). SDE is a statistical technique useful for developing, improving and optimizing processes and also has important applications in research into customer psychology and behaviour (Rosenbaum 1999). However, SDE is not a new tool in marketing; pioneering works such as those by Holland and Cravens (1973), Chevalier (1975) and more recently those of Starkey, Aughton and Brewin (1997), Almquist y Wyner (2001) have used full factorials and fractional factorial designs. In this work we use a fractional factorial design in four four-size blocks design and we have not find any reference that use this kind of design in Marketing. Keywords: Distribution channel, Attributes, Statistical Design of Experiments (SDE
Halal Literacy: A Concept Exploration and Measurement Validation
Muslim consumers have strict commandments which guides their consumption behavior. However, Muslim individuals may have different compliance regarding the commandments. This difference in compliance may be explained by difference in halal literacy. Halal literacy is the ability to differentiate permissible (halal) and forbidden (haram) goods and services which came from better understanding of Islamic laws (shariah). Thus, the purpose of this paper is to explore the concept of Halal Literacy as well as to develop and validate an instrument to measure Halal Literacy for Muslim consumers. Halal literacy was measured using two methods. One method using six items of five point Likert self evaluation scale and the other using fifteen true-false test questions with an option to choose doesn’t know. Proportion of correct and incorrect was used as weights in scoring to represent the difficulty of items. Scoring results were then analyzed with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) using Weighted Least Square method to test construct validity. Scores were then used to classify cases into high, moderate and low Literacy groups.Self evaluation halal literacy and switching Intentions are compared between groups using ANOVA to determine concurrent validity. Only ten out of fifteen items are considered valid using Confirmatory Factor Analysis. ANOVA showed that grouping of high, moderate and low literacy score can distinguish differences in perceived halal literacy and switching intentions between the groups. Post hoc tests and descriptive statistics revealed interesting non linear relationship between the halal literacy scores; self evaluated halal literacy and intentions to switch from products without halal labels. Keywords: Halal Literacy; Halal Labels; Muslim Consumer; Measurement and Validation; Product Switching Intentio
