THE IMPACT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES AFTER MERAPI ERUPTION 2010 TOWARD THE IMAGE OF TOURISM
oai:jurnal.ugm.ac.id:article/6360In the end of 2010, the Merapi Volcano erupted and resulted some problems and changes from physical and civilization changes impact to the economic and its image. The Merapi volcano is seen as the mountain ecosystem that has specific character. Besides its popularity as the most active volcanoes in the world and the uniqueness of its eruption pattern, the Merapi volcano is one of the most important geomorphologies to support the life of civilization through its natural resource such as water, land, spring and oxygen. The last eruption of Merapi volcano is characterized with multi-eruption from 26 October to 11 November 2010. Merapi threw pyroclastic material and hot clouds that could destroy the settlement, facilities, and infrastructure and buried the river. It destroyed the Kinahrejo village and the material sedimented three rivers that are Kuning, Gendol and Woro. Besides that, this catastrophic disaster killed 300 people, thousands of livestock, destroy hundreds of houses, hundred hectare of paddy field and agricultural field. Moreover, it also destroy the civilization by forcing people to move from their place of life. In addition, the Merapi has been leaving both positive and negative image of Yogyakarta of course as a result of the media publication and broadcasting. The aims of this paper is to analyses the environments and images changes as result of Merapi volcano eruption. The environmental changes have been captured from two factors: first, the number of damaged land area and dangerous area and second from the condition of water. Moreover, the images changes have been captured from the image Yogyakarta tourism destination. The method of the study is a combination between qualitative and qualitative approach. The data used the secondary report from previous study and primary data from in-depth interview with 30 foreign visitors. The result of the study shows that: first, the pattern of the lava flow is relatively similar to the previous pattern, second, water aquifer is not changed but locally changes its quality of water. In term of image from the visitors the study shows that visitor tend to wait until the condition of Merapi get better before they visit Yogyakarta.
EFFECTS OF TOURISM SERVICE QUALITY AND HOTEL QUALITY ON TOURIST SATISFACTION IN DANANG CITY VIETNAM
Quality is important to satisfy customers who use its services. In the field of tourism, service quality and quality of the hotel is an important factor to the satisfaction of tourists. In this study, researchers took the subjects of tourism and hotel services in the city of Danang. As for dimensions covering quality of tourism services is the physical evidence (tangible), reliability, responsiveness, empathy, and assurance and the variable quality of the hotel is the location, facilities, services, employees and rates. Several methods of data collection are observation, documentation and interviews with the questionnaire. Analytical methods including validities test, reliability test and multiple regression analysis.Based on these two studies was done in order: First, the perception of tourists with quality services. Second, perceptions of tourists with a quality hotel. Third, find out whether the variable quality of service and variable quality of the hotels have a significant effect on tourist satisfaction Danang city.Results showed lower perceptions of tourists with quality of service assessed by the percentage Very good 28.53% Good 40.33% higher while the rate of 25.07% and the rate Poor Very poor 6.07% lowers. Second, perceptions of tourists with quality hotels rated Very good 31.43%, 41.21% rate good, the Bad and the level of 16.64% 10.71% Very bad. Third, the correlation coefficient R 0.923 indicates a very close relationship between the two independent variables Quality of service and quality hotel with tourist satisfaction. ODEL PENGEMBANGAN PARIWISATA BAHARI BERBASIS MASYARAKAT DI KABUPATEN HALMAHERA UTARA
This research aimed to (1) study perception of people and private institution on maritime tourism development in Tagalaya, Kumo and Kakara in North Halmahera regency and (2) to study implementation of the community based maritime tourism development in Tagalaya, Kumo and Kakara in North Halmahera regency.It used descriptive method to describe and analyze perception and participation and people empowerment activity. It used qualitative approach, which result in descriptive data in form of written or oral words of observed people. The processed data was then discussed systematically to get picture of the condition with final results of conclusion. Data was collected through in-depth interview, observation and documentation with informants of people, government, and administrator of tourism resorts selected purpo-sively.Results of the research indicated that first: people perceive the development model as providing work. They perceived tourism facility should be improved. About human re-sources, they perceive that it was very supporting. In addition they perceive manage-ment of the tourism object is low indicated with less optimal service level. Moreover, promotion was required with improvement of the resorts first. Second: people in the three tourism resorts participated in the maritime tourism development. The participa-tion was in attending meeting, dissemination, security and order/cleanness. Their contri-bution was manifested in form as management of tourism object, establishing food shop, providing home stay, preparing maritime transportation, doing tourism infrastructure development project in the resorts and cooperating with private sectors. Community empowerment was done through development of tourism village by government of ad-ministrator through training and education, dissemination, partnership, and capital aid for infrastructure development.Maritime tourism development model in North Halmahera regency can be implemented in human resource, management, and more intensive promotion, community participa-tion and empowerment to create the integrated planning and management
PENGARUH KOMPONEN MASJID AGUNG JAWA TENGAH TERHADAP KEDATANGAN WISATAWAN
This research is aimed at analyzing the level of strength of the components of Masjid Agung Jawa Tengah in influencing the visit of the tourists coming to the mosque. This research employs “naturalistic” and uses qualitative data analysis. This research explores and links two variables, the components of the mosque and the visit of the tourists. The technique of data collection on the components of the mosque is gained by conducting observation, while for the visit of the tourists it uses the in-depth interview. The data analysis in the components of the mosque is conducted by arranging the data gained in the research from observation, interview, and field note in the narrative text systematically. The data analysis in the the visit of the tourists is conducted by categorizing the data based on the variable from the chosen parameter. The data testing is conducted by using the triangulation technique in the source.The result of the research shows that Masjid Agung Jawa Tengah has strong components in influencing the visit of the tourists. The components of MAJT which become the center of attention for the tourists’ visit are (consecutively) the Asmaul Husna tower, the electric umbrella, the Al Qanatir gate, the function of the building, the mosque’s roof, the minaret in the roof, the mosque’s plaza, the thermal comfort, the audio comfort, the spatial comfort, and also the visual comfort
ANALISIS FAKTOR PENDORONG DAN PENARIK WISATAWAN UNTUK BERBELANJA DI FACTORY OUTLET KOTA BANDUNG
This research was intended to analyze of tourists’ push and pull factors to shop in factory outlet at Bandung. Moreover, the objectives of this research are:(1) to analyze the profile and perception of domestic tourists toward push and pull fac-tors; (2) to know the influences of these drives on the tourists’ visiting frequency; and (3) to count the contribution of each factor toward the frequency of tourists’ visit to the factory outlets each year at Bandung.The research used descriptive analytical method and the data were collected through surveys and questionnaires. The data includes an overview of research area, tourists’ profiles, and tourists’ perceptions about the push and pull factors to shop in factory outlet at Bandung. This research put 97 respondents, and the technique used in this research was accidental sampling.The results of the research could be explained as below. First, the tourists’ profiles based on actual market conditions could be divided into groups as psycho centrist, repeaters, active shoppers, and the price shoppers. Besides, the origin of majority tourists were coming from Jakarta and its surrounding areas who have a fixed job, middle income, and a lifestyle that tends to be wasteful and luxurious. Second, the drive that most influence the tourists to shop is the motive to strengthen family’s bound or friendship. Meanwhile, the variations of good that sold at factory outlets is the main pull factor to travel to these destinations. Third, through the data, it analysis shown that both of two factors were carried out a positive and significant influence toward the frequency of tourists’ visit each year, by giving contribution of 18% for the push factors, and 19% for the pull factor. Furthermore, when both of two factors were combined, it could provide a greater contri-bution value about 26.5%, and the remains of 73.5% is epsilon that were explained by other variables which are not examined in this study
PENGEMBANGAN ATRAKSI WISATA JELAJAH KINAHREJO BERBASIS KOMUNITAS
This study has three main objectives: first, which describes existing and potential efforts by the community to develop a tourist attraction roaming Kinahrejo. Second, the mechanism for participation and management cruising Kinahrejo by the community. Third, the continuity of tourist attractions that can be seen roaming Kinahrejo from the economic, environmental, and social aspects. These three objectives are then combined to get an overview of post conditions Kinahrejo tourism Merapi eruption in 2010.This research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive method that provides an overview of the condition of the field based on observations and interviews at the informants had done. Data collection was conducted in an area attraction Roaming Kinahrejo and shelter as the residence of the offender Kinahrejo Cruising tourism, in addition to supporting data as for observation and interviews in the form of photo clarify the picture of the field, while the interviews were conducted to informants who are considered to have knowledge of Kinahrejo, disasters and tourist attractions Kinahrejo Roaming. Local knowledge possessed local communities is the key to this research.Development of a community-based tourist attraction efforts by Kinahrejo community that aims to get welfare in terms of economic, environmental, and social life. Therefore, to achieve these objectives cannot be separated from the management mechanism and the participation of the community joined in Kinahrejo. Tourist attractions Roaming Kinahrejo emerged as a form of resurrection after the disaster that evolved into a new source of livelihood for the people
PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT MELALUI PENGEMBANGAN POTENSI DESA WISATA KETINGAN KABUPATEN SLEMAN - DI YOGYAKARTA
Empowerment is the study discussed in this research and it is related to the potential development of tourism village of Ketingan Tirtoadi Mlati Sleman Yogyakarta Special Region. The objective of this research is to answer the problems as follows: first is how the community empowerment in tourism village of Ketingan; second how is the public re-sponse to community empowerment and third is what are the supports and obstacles in the implementation of community empowerment.This research is an empowering community research which is observing the implemen-tation of empowerment by using library study and field studies as a means of data collec-tion. The source of the data was obtained from the research site of Ketingan tourism village and taken from the competence informant as well as from the relevance and sup-porting government institution and private institutions. The data analysis was done by using qualitative analysis with descriptive approach which elaborates the data and the fact obtained from the research or the field of the research.The finding of the research shows that the community empowerment in Ketingan tour-ism village has already ran smoothly although it has not reached the independence level. The potential development was conducted by the management which applies the tour-ism attraction, accommodation/home stay. The planning to form the tourism package which adopts the cluster management model needs to be considered seriously since it will give benefit and it can increase the involvement of UKM and the members of the community besides that it can be one of the tourism attractions. Most of the community members understand the meaning of empowerment so that the management finds it easily to implement and socialize the planned activities, although there are some con-straints relating to the funding and the human resource
GREEN HOTEL SEBAGAI DAYA SAING SUATU DESTINASI
The goal of the research is describing the green hotel application program of the hotel industries in Yogyakarta, creation of competitiveness in tourism destination. Subject of the research is whole member of Indonesia Hotel & Restaurant Association, (PHRI) Yogyakarta, which classified as four and five star hotel, and have an environment document or green hotel certificate. This study is a descriptive qualitative research. The research shows that the green hotels standard application in Yogyakarta, in general have done environmentally friendly practice, but there are a few problems such as inconsistency done of hotel staff, consciousness of guest is less, not enough socialization and some have perception that green hotel application need high cost. Such problems necessary to be resolved by training socialization, build commitment, make green team and apply green tourism marketing strategy
POLA PENGELOLAAN EKOWISATA BERBASIS KOMUNITAS DI TAMAN NASIONAL GUNUNG HALIMUN SALAK
The purpose of this study was to determine the mechanism of community-based ecotourism management and community development in the village Cipta Gelar Mountain Salak National Park in the management of ecotourism. The study uses survey methodology is supported by in-depth interviews as well as field observations associated with ecotourism components and mechanisms, such as tourist attractions, tourist facilities, accessibility, promotion, partnership and empowerment.Community based ecotourism management scheme in village Cipta Gelar has natural and cultural tourist attractions are diverse and unique, such as: mountain scenery, rice fields, flora and fauna, the pattern of society still holds strong ancestral traditions, such as ceremonial epidemic, tradition of farming, building a house, the architecture of the house, hand souvenirs, making it all the palm sugar into tourism products, but its implementation has not been able to run optimally. Tourist facilities available are quite good. The road network is not good enough and not yet available.Community empowerment programs implemented have not done intensively and most especially in the management of community-based ecotourism so not many tangible economic benefits for the community
PENGARUH PERUBAHAN IKLIM TERHADAP KEGIATAN WISATA BAHARI DI GILI TRAWANGAN
A primary issue is the extent to which research and knowledge insight tourists, tourism entrepreneurs and the general public to the phenomenon of climate change. The purpose of the study was to explain the extent of knowledge of the tourists, communities, and tourism entrepreneurs on climate change and what is being done to overcome or minimize the impact of climate change, which has an influence on the tourism industry in Gili Trawangan.This qualitative descriptive study describes and illustrates the environmental conditions Gili Trawangan. The unit of analysis is a preliminary understanding on climate change experienced by tourists, community and tourism businesses, as well as the impact experienced. The results showed a lack of understanding about climate change among tourists, community and tourism businesses. A concern that arises is the damage to the environment and society Gili Trawangan declining income from tourism. Necessary action to respond to climate change between the community and tourism businesses in Gili Trawangan
