    In recent year, non-linear loads, such as televisions, micro-computers and robotic equipments are increasingly connected to the system. These non-linear load inject a large amount of harmonics, especially third, fifth and seventh.Formerly, people just paid attention to the harmonics problem in the high voltage area. However, now a days the effects of harmonics in the distribution system become more significant.Sometimes, the harmonics ratio and the total harmonics distortion exceed the national harmonics standard for the public supply network. For this reason, we need to measure and asses the level of harmonics in the Distribution System. This paper will discuss about harmonics and how to deal with it. It also considers how we assess the harmonics in a distribution feeder. This project used both hardware and software to build the system. The RMS900 from Hathaway is used to record the snapshot data from the line. A computer program,called HAP that is written in MATLAB is used to analyze the data and Modbus protocol make possible the communication the RMS900 and the PC

    High voltage insulation failure that led to the breakdown of events is crucial reliability of a power system Most of the failure of the insulation caused by the presence of PD activity on the insulation material, especially the solid insulation which triggering the growing of electrics tree. To anticipate these problems required an understanding of the characteristics and patterns that occur in PD insulating material. Activities Partial Discharge (PD) which occur in epoxy resin insulating materials will discussed in this research. Partial discharge pattern happens to be analyzed, the characteristics of PD that occurred (n), the maximum pulse peluahan PD (q) and angle of discharge of the PD pulse ( ).     Coordination of directional over current relay in the large power system with a lot of generation bus and load bus is difficult to get the result, thus a method is needed to solve the problem. Linier programming was using to coordination over current relay in 8 bus IEEE. The result shown using linier programming in more optimal than using dual simplex method and non linier programming method. This final project using linier programming to optimal the coordination of directional over current relays in transmission line of power system Lampung. Coordination is equation are arranged to form linier equation, with TMS relay as an optimal value. Optimize coordination is obtained by minimize operating time each relay without leaving all coordination constraints beside primary relay and backup relay. The result shown operation time for coordination beside primary and backup relay is satisfy to coordination interval ( CI is 0,4 second ). Optimation method using linier programming had success to solve the coordination problem efficiency, quickly and simultaneously.     The aim of this research is to observe the quality of images resulting from electrical capacitance tomography using iterative linear back projection. Tests have been conducted using a rod and straw(s) that put inside an 8 electrode capacitive sensor with various positions. Dispite the size of the reconstructed images are bigger that that of original object(s), the linear back projection method can correctly indetify the position of object(s). In order to over come the inaccuracy of image sizes, the method is used iteratively. Resulting tests suggest 50 iterations can improve the reconstructed images as expected

    Transient fault could occur on transformer in power system. This is could be because of internal fault or external fault. Disturbance could be because of short circuit between winding of transformer or because of short circuit on load. Short circuit on transformer winding could lead to catastrophic failure of transformer. So it needed to detect short circuit between winding on transformer before it breakdown. On this paper discussed experiment using a step transformer 220/500 volt with 5 tap on primer side and 10 tap on secondary side. Each tap on primary and secondary side is connected to simulated short circuit evidence in transformer winding. The transformer connected to resistif load that have 10 tap to simulated short circuit on load side. Measurements conduct on both side and analysis done using wavelet transformation analysis. Experiment result shows measurement result on secondary side gave wavelet decomposition that easier to discriminate fault result from normal condition. This process covered entry design, simulation by functionally or static clock. The compression system using the maximum clock frequency 2,8 MHz.
