Introductory Notes
These introductory notes represent a tool and a guide for the reading of a monograph. From the project genesis to the misadventures, encountered along the way. AttraversaMenti give us, from a multidisciplinary point of view, an image of the custodial and health reality that has characterized Italy (often in the shadows) for over a century. Not forgetting those who made it possible and to mention openings to future projects
In ricordo di Tonino Casula
The text seeks to remember Tonino Casula, a militant artist, teacher, intellectual and avant-garde promoter, by reconstructing his life. Artistically, he started from the first experiments and moved on to the scientific 'optical' period, which was followed by the hyper-modern period where he explored new and different artistic forms and wrote about language, semiotics and didactics, finally arriving at the new dynamism of computer art making his life a journey of constant artistic research, both rational and experimental, and at the same time open to contradictions, exuberance and play.
Abstract: This contribution proposes typological, functional, and sociocultural considerations regarding artifacts falling into the categories of swords and daggers chronologically framed in the context of Nuragic Sardinia (Middle Bronze - Early Iron Age), with the sole exclusion of the artifacts called «votive swords».Riassunto: Il contributo propone riflessioni di natura tipologica, funzionale e socioculturale in relazione ai manufatti rientranti nelle categorie delle spade e delle daghe cronologicamente inquadrabili nel contesto della Sardegna nuragica (Bronzo Medio – Primo Ferro), con la sola esclusione dei manufatti denominati «spade votive».

The Birth of Ethos out of Pathos
An ethical epoché is required to leave the terrain of a self-evident morality and question its origin. In particular, four fundamental motifs of the ethical dimension are identified: pathos, to be thematised as an alternative to the persistent activist unilateralism; response, which always involves body and soul; diastasis with its stumbles and subtractions; and finally coaffection, in which the social dimension of experience is announced. Ethical behaviour feeds on the magma of pathos, which in turn would be blind and directionless without any ethos. An ethical epoché is required to leave the terrain of a self-evident morality and question its origin. The Body as Original Medium and Vehicle of Technique
Living corporeity is the intermediate element between nature and culture, which must be thought of as a reciprocal interconnection, since as corporeal beings we always move on a threshold. In the reflection of the bodily self, a doubling between the living body as a functioning subject and as a material object is revealed; after all, even one's own body sometimes takes on the features of a foreign body, as is the case in the experience of illness. In the technical instrument, the body is prolonged and this highlights the connection between the technique of the thing and the technique of the self; however, despite the gradual autonomisation of the technical element from the living corporeity, there remains what escapes calculation and looms large in the subtraction of the alien.Living corporeity is the intermediate element between nature and culture, which must be thought of as a reciprocal interconnection, since as corporeal beings we always move on a threshold. Starting with the Body Beyond the Body
The aim of this article is to focus on the double entanglement of the body as an original medium and as a vehicle of technique. It follows Waldenfels’ long course of investigations devoted to these issues. In particular, the author will try to highlight the strong points of his proposal, attempting to critically extend their range, on the one hand, and problematizing certain assumptions that may become the subject of further investigation, on the other. He will focus above all on the question of the bodily self as embedded in and structured by many gestures and practices that are properly technical. Finally, the author will show how the conceptual tools of this phenomenology can be employed in the analysis of some significant contemporary phenomena. The aim of this article is to focus on the double entanglement of the body as an original medium and as a vehicle of technique. Autogeografia. Saul Steinberg narratore di spazi, tra mitologia personale e critica dell'ambiente urbano
For over 60 years, Saul Steinberg (1914-1999) used his pen to explore a wide range of spaces, from the piazzas and arcades of Italy to the main streets and brownstones of the United States. Places he lived in and that he remembered, but also criticized. This essay aims to revisit some of the steps of Steinberg’s “autogeography,” following as a leitmotif the idea of inhabitable space which prefers a continuous metamorphosis of functions to over-defined boundaries. Through his drawings, Steinberg offers a fragmentary yet remarkably coherent contribution to the twentieth-century debate on the urban environment, alongside those of Bernard Rudofsky and Le Corbusier.
