Il cronotopo della strada come spazio interstiziale per la costruzione di una coscienza antropocenica condivisa
The article aims to explore how an anthropocenic consciousness capable of restoring a sense of planetary community emerges through an unusual experience of the (non-)place of the road. Reading some selected extracts from the novels of Pecoraro, Trevisan and Vinci, it is possible to understand how the analysis of a situation of individual crisis could lead to a reflection on the general condition of the human being in post-capitalist society.L'articolo si propone di sondare come una coscienza antropocenica capace di ripristinare un senso di comunità planetaria emerga attraverso un'esperienza insolita del (non)luogo della strada.

In this issue, we resume the “In Discussion” section; the focus is on one of the most important and complex public spaces in the global cultural and civic landscape: the city of Naples. We will refer to some recent books, such as Napoli. Contro il panorama by Giovanna Silva and Lucia Tozzi; and Privati di Napoli by Alessandra Caputi and Anna Fava; not forgetting other studies, novels and films on the subject. The Campania metropolis has been-and continues to be-a laboratory from which literary and artistic, political and social experiences have sprung. The body of the city, the spaces of its inhabitants have reflected dynamics and changes in Italian society throughout modernity. Writers and intellectuals have analyzed and represented those changes, often related to the themes of environment, cultural heritage and, today, ecological emergencies. Discussing them in this issue are two scholars who have devoted important books and essays to these subjects: Giancarlo Alfano and Anna Fava.In this issue, we resume the “In Discussion” section; the focus is on one of the most important and complex public spaces in the global cultural and civic landscape: the city of Naples. Mosaici parietali perduti nella Gallia cristiana: un quadro d’insieme
This article examines the evidence of lost wall mosaics in Christian Gaul between the 4th and 7th centuries, as inferred from written sources (dating from Late Antiquity, the Middle Ages, and the Modern period) and material fragments (primarily tesserae discovered during archaeological excavations). The study documents around 30 cases concentrated in 18 locations across France, scattered throughout the entire territory. This phenomenon had never been analysed comprehensively so far, and this initial investigation reveals a surprisingly rich and varied picture, particularly given that France, unlike Italy, does not preserve monumental mosaic coverings from Late Antiquity.
The data collected offer almost never information on the iconographic content of these contexts but provide valuable insights into materials (notably the frequent discovery of multicoloured glass tesserae, including gold-leaf ones), production processes (evidenced by the presence of in situ glass furnaces in two cases at least), and patrons (mainly bishops, but also monarchs and prominent figures of secular society).

Purity of Heart and Perception of Reality in Pavel Florensky
In The pillar and ground of the truth, Pavel Florensky meditates on the anthropological potential of the mysticism of the heart as opposed to false mysticisms that generate a fragmented and distorted experience of life. The mysticism of the heart in one of its highest figures that arises in the sphere of christian asceticism points instead to the integration of the person, to a transfiguration of his perception by which he enters into relationship with a frequency of the real that resembles a sort of entrance to Paradise. Florensky's thought is a challenge to the lifestyle imposed on us by contemporary culture, which is related to those false mysticisms because of its logic centered on the will to control, the maximization of instrumental efficiency, dispersion, consumption, which causes the degradation of human life in isolation and the loss of enthusiasm for existence. In The pillar and ground of the truth, Pavel Florensky meditates on the anthropological potential of the mysticism of the heart as opposed to false mysticisms that generate a fragmented and distorted experience of life. Das Unbewußte als Fremdes
Through a comparison of the phenomenological motif of the alien and the psychoanalytic motif of the unconscious, a critique is advanced against Cartesian dualism, which recurs today in the natural sciences and in the split of the contemporary individual, divided between spirit and nature, the proper world and the alien world, the inner sphere and the outer sphere. It is a matter of thinking of an original subtraction, an absent presence that begins with ourselves, in a slippage that achieves no synthesis.Through a comparison of the phenomenological motif of the alien and the psychoanalytic motif of the unconscious, a critique is advanced against Cartesian dualism, which recurs today in the natural sciences and in the split of the contemporary individual, divided between spirit and nature, the proper world and the alien world, the inner sphere and the outer sphere. Bodies and Natures
In the following paper, we will focus in particular on the research and reflections carried out by the French anthropologist Philippe Descola, who offers us a useful perspective to radically rethink the conceptualisation that, through a millenary movement, has led our Western culture, represented by what he calls the Moderns (borrowing an expression from Bruno Latour), to objectify the natural environment and to deploy it as a separate and unmanageable entity to be dominated. In the following paper, we will focus in particular on the research and reflections carried out by the French anthropologist Philippe Descola, who offers us a useful perspective to radically rethink the conceptualisation that, through a millenary movement, has led our Western culture, represented by what he calls the Moderns (borrowing an expression from Bruno Latour), to objectify the natural environment and to deploy it as a separate and unmanageable entity to be dominated
The House as Liminal Space in Alice Munro’s Female Gothic
Alice Munro’s work is part of a subgenre of the contemporary Gothic known as the Southern Ontario Gothic, which realistically depicts typical small-town life in Southern Ontario, particularly in regards to the gender dynamic. Munro’s Southern Ontario Gothic draws from the rich tradition of the 18th-century British Gothic, which was influenced by public spaces such as cathedrals, monasteries, and churches, particularly in their theatricality. In her short stories, Alice Munro crafts an architectural space based on the liminal space between the private and the public, where the characters’ inner strangeness, uncertainty about what is true or not true, what is ‘seen’ and ‘known,’ and the unheimlich of the domestic place turned public become key elements. The house turns into a nursing home or a quasi-school room, and the tension between inner/outer spaces engenders human strife. The melodramatic turn of events, almost comedic in its distorted grotesque, comes from the fact that an outsider in some kind of quasi-professional capacity is allowed access into the private space of others.
