    No full text
In order to carry out data analytics, we need powerful and flexible computing software. However the software available for data analytics is often proprietary and can be expensive. This book reviews Apache tools, which are open source and easy to use. After providing an overview of the background of data analytics, covering the different types of analysis and the basics of using Hadoop as a tool, it focuses on different Hadoop ecosystem tools, like Apache Flume, Apache Spark, Apache Storm, Apache Hive, R, and Python, which can be used for different types of analysis. It then examines the different machine learning techniques that are useful for data analytics, and how to visualize data with different graphs and charts. Presenting data analytics from a practice-oriented viewpoint, the book discusses useful tools and approaches for data analytics, supported by concrete code examples. The book is a valuable reference resource for graduate students and professionals in related fields, and is also of interest to general readers with an understanding of data analytics

    Advanced Monitoring in P2P Botnets

    No full text
This book presents current research in the area of advanced monitoring in P2P botnets, and uses a dual-perspective approach to discuss aspects of botnet monitoring in-depth. First, from the perspective of a defender, e.g. researchers, it introduces advanced approaches to successfully monitor botnets, taking the presence of current botnet anti-monitoring mechanisms into consideration. Then, adopting a botmaster perspective to anticipate the advances in future botnets, it introduces advanced measures to detect and prevent monitoring activities. All the proposed methods were evaluated either using real-world data or in a simulation scenario. In addition to providing readers with an in-depth understanding of P2P botnets, the book also analyzes the implications of the various design choices of recent botnets for effectively monitoring them. It serves as an excellent introduction to new researchers and provides a useful review for specialists in the field

Syllabification Model of Named-Entity Using Syntactic n-Gram

    No full text
Syllabication or syllabification is an activity to detect syllable boundaries in a word. There are two main ways for automatic syllabification, namely rule-based and data-driven. The rule-based approach is based on the general principle of syllabification, while the data-driven method uses a set of syllabified words to create a syllabification of unknown words. Research on syllabification of words has been done a lot. However, most of these studies only deal with the formal words but still a few studies for named entities. Besides, named entities tend to be more complicated than the regular words. In this research, a syntactic n-Gram is proposed and investigated to syllabify the named entities since it is developed based on the n-gram that has an excellent accuracy and tends to be consistent with various languages. Evaluation on 20 k named-entities based on 4-fold cross-validation show that the proposed model gives a competitive syllable error rate (SER) compare to another similar n-gram-based model

Modelling and Verification of Secure Exams

    No full text
In this book the author introduces a novel approach to securing exam systems. He provides an in-depth understanding, useful for studying the security of exams and similar systems, such as public tenders, personnel selections, project reviews, and conference management systems. After a short chapter that explains the context and objectives of the book, in Chap. 2 the author introduces terminology for exams and the foundations required to formulate their security requirements. He describes the tasks that occur during an exam, taking account of the levels of detail and abstraction of an exam specification and the threats that arise out of the different exam roles. He also presents a taxonomy that classifies exams by types and categories. Chapter 3 contains formal definitions of the authentication, privacy, and verifiability requirements for exams, a framework based on the applied pi-calculus for the specification of authentication and privacy, and a more abstract approach based on set-theory that enables the specification of verifiability. Chapter 4 describes the Huszti-Peth? protocol in detail and proposes a security enhancement. In Chap. 5 the author details Remark!, a protocol for Internet-based exams, discussing its cryptographic building blocks and some security considerations. Chapter 6 focuses on WATA, a family of computer-assisted exams that employ computer assistance while keeping face-to-face testing. The chapter also introduces formal definitions of accountability requirements and details the analysis of a WATA protocol against such definitions. In Chaps. 4, 5, and 6 the author uses the cryptographic protocol verifier ProVerif for the formal analyses. Finally, the author outlines future work in Chap. 7. The book is valuable for researchers and graduate students in the areas of information security, in particular for people engaged with exams or protocols

Aku Reseng. Pembunuh bayaran. Hanya menghabisi orang lain sesuai perintah. Pilih saja caranya. Yang cepat tanpa rasa sakit? Atau perlahan, penuh siksaan? Para perencana akan mempersiapkan segalanya. Aku tinggal mengeksekusi. Tunggu saja, Aku akan menjadi orang terakhir yang kau lihat sebelum menutup mata. Selagi nyawa perlahan tercerabut dari tubuhmu.

    Online Harassment

    No full text
Online Harassment is one of the most serious problems in social media. To address it requires understanding the forms harassment takes, how it impacts the targets, who harasses, and how technology that stands between users and social media can stop harassers and protect users. The field of Human-Computer Interaction provides a unique set of tools to address this challenge. This book brings together experts in theory, socio-technical systems, network analysis, text analysis, and machine learning to present a broad set of analyses and applications that improve our understanding of the harassment problem and how to address it. This book tackles the problem of harassment by addressing it in three major domains. First, chapters explore how harassment manifests, including extensive analysis of the Gamer Gate incident, stylistic features of different types of harassment, how gender differences affect misogynistic harassment. Then, we look at the results of harassment, including how it drives people offline and the impacts it has on targets. Finally, we address techniques for mitigating harassment, both through automated detection and filtering and interface options that users control. Together, many branches of HCI come together to provide a comprehensive look at the phenomenon of online harassment and to advance the field toward effective human-oriented solutions
