Get PDFThe topic of this article is about translation in blog, especially WordPress. This research aims at identifying the translation techniques and ideology in translating blog terms which are applied by Google Inc in WordPress. This method is descriptive qualitative. The data of this research is blog terms that exist in WordPress in forms of words, phrases, clauses and sentences. The technique used in this research is writing technique. The result of the research shows that there are 47 words, 12 phrases, 41 sentences blog terms in WordPress in English. There are six techniques found in the data, namely 1) borrowing technique, 2) calque technique,3) literal technique, 4) reduction technique, 5) transpotition`technique,and 6) the comibnation of some techniques. Get PDFThe objective of this article is to get to know the effectiveness of inquiry method in improving learning outcomes of Indonesian Language subject, particularly the reading skill aspect of class X students of SMAN 1 Bengkalis. This study is a Class Action Research (CAR/Penelitian Tindakan Kelas). Class Action Research is one of strategies in solving problem that utilize concrete actions and the process of developing ability in detecting and problems solving. In its process, all parties that involved mutually support each other, equipped with the facts and then analyzed. This classroom action research was conducted in three cycles. There are four stages in each cycle: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. In this study, the way to obtain the data is by collecting thescore of descriptive questions and observing the activities of students and teachers. The learning outcomes that obtained after the action by applying the inquiry method to the students of class X SMAN 1 Bengkalis shows that each cycle undergoes improvement. The completeness of individual and classical in the first cycle is 81%, the second cycle is 88%, and the third cycle is 97%. Besides, the absorption capacity of the first cycle students is 77,34%, the second cycle is 81,24%, and the third cycle is 84,78%
PERISTILAHAN ASING DALAM HARIAN RIAU POS PEKANBARU
Get PDFThis article aims at describing kinds of foreign language terms and their usage in headline news in Riau Pos newspaper for the period of July to August 2015 by applying descriptive method. Data that have been collected then analyzed by the theory of forming terms so that the foreign terms in the headline news can be observed. After analyzing the data, they were classified based on the process of creating equivalent terms. The result of the study shows that the kinds of term by the process of creating equivalent terms, among others 1) direct translation, and translation by inventing new terms. The foreign language terms are written in italic. The source language is English. Some of the foreign terms are completed with the meaning in bahasa Indonesia. Besides, some others have the same forms in bahasa Indonesia and the others are absorbed from the foreign language with the adjustment of written forms in bahasa Indonesia

Get PDFChildren literature, ideally, is a form of imaginatif creation in using language which is appropriate with children’s world and need. Children literature should be able to present understanding and experiences of aesthetic values (especially in using language. Therefore, children literature are really expected to have meaningful values for children. Otherwise, in fact, the value of meaningfulness for children often neglected. By implementing stylistic approach, the writing of this article to highlight ten folklore books published byPusat Bahasa that intended to children. These story books are selected randomly in order to observe creativity in using language in the opening and closing setences in the stories. This article attempts to observe the realtionship among language,creativity and children literature. The basic assumption is that improving language creativity (for children) are able to be carried out through children literature. However, by applying descriptive analysis method, the result of this article shows that the children literature users as a media to improve the creativity in using language have not reached maximal potention. The imagination world that is produced from children’s way of thinking to produce creativity in using language are necessary to be developed and to beexplored by creating children literature that are produced by using interesting syle

Get PDF“Batombe†is an oral tradition of the Nagari Abai society at Sangir BatanghariSubdistrict, South Solok District, West Sumatra Province. Batombe is exchanging rhymes (berbalas pantun) which is performed as an entertainment on the wedding party (baralek). Batombe is identical with Great House (Rumah Gadang) Nagari Abai which is a unique house because it is a long traditional custom house that has many rooms. It reaches 21 rooms. The rhymes in batombe tends to deliver a feeling of lilting so the singers often drift into the atmosphere of the show. Therefore, as part of community life, batombe often cause a negative effects for the singers soul. This paper describes various things, such as: who batombe singer is; the time to perform this activity; the relationship between batombe and Great House (Rumah Gadang) at Nagari Abai; and the negative effects caused by batombe for the singers. This paper based on the fact that in oral tradition there is a close relationship between text and the speakers and text with context (place, time and atmosphere), a multidisciplinary approach is used in this paper, such as historical, sociological, anthropological, and psychological approach. Hence, it is important to compare the similarities and the differences in other to explore the theme, the plot, the story endings, the characters, and the backgrounds of the stories. In this research, the writer chose one of the folklore which titled Si Kelingking that existed in Jambi Province and Riau Province. The result of the research about the comparison of Si Kelingking story shows that there are similarities in intrinsic elements that researched by applying structural approach. Meanwhile, there are differences in characters and backgrounds in the stories for the comparison of the two folklores with the same titles
ETIKA WAYANG DALAM NOVEL-NOVEL INDONESIA
Get PDFLiterary has closed relationship with culture. Authors often include cultural elements to influence it in their literary works. It is also done by Javanese authors who write Indonesian novels. Some authors include the story of wayang in their novels. By analyzing with textual method, this research described wayang ethics that existed in four Indonesian novels. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the authors often include the elements from wayang story due to the fact that wayang is main identity of Javanese people. The wayang elements in Indonesian novels are the plot of the story that identical with wayang acts and the figures are created similarly with the figures in wayang story. The similarities showed there some figures in wayang story who became the idols in society
