    PERBANDINGAN CERITA “MAHLIGAI KELOYANG†DAN “KOBA MALIN DEMANâ€

    Many folklores have same motives, but different in development adjust to the community that support the story. Differences in the development of the story in folklore shows the influences of local cultures to the storyteller. The differences cause various versions of folklore. It is also seen in folklore Mahligai Keloyang from Indragiri Hulu Regency and Koba Malin Deman from Rokan Hulu Regency. Therefore, this study aimed to find the similarities and the differences of the two folklores. The analysis of the similarities and differences of The legend Mahligai Keloyang and Koba Malin Deman applied dynamic structuralism theory, the theory which does not only emphasizes the intrinsic elements, but also pay attention to extrinsic elements in literature. Due to the fact that the study was also intended to compare two folklores, the research method used is descriptive comparative method. Based on the analysis of the structure of the story, it is found that there are similarities and differences in the stories Mahligai Keloyang and Koba Malin Deman which includes elements of the theme, the characters, the settings, and the plots. Based on the analysis of the cultural values in the folklores, some similarities and differences of religious values, moral values, and social values are found

    INTERFERENSI DALAM CERPEN DI LAMPUNG POST

    This study attempts to observe the interferences that occur in short stories published in Lampung Post 2010. Various factors that cause interferences in the short stories would be the problems discussed in this study. The use of Indonesian in the short stories fulfilled with the interferences of English and the local languages (Java, Lampung, and Palembang). Interferences occur at the level of morphological, lexical and syntactic. Based on the data, it can be concluded that the interferences are caused by several factors, including bilingualism of authors of the short stories, avoidance of using same words over and over, prestige, lack of fidelity to the language. In addition to, the elements of English and the local languages used are shorter than the elements of Indonesian language and there is no equivalent words in Indonesian

    Teenagers language is considered as variant of Indonesian language which socially mark that the social group who uses such language are teenagers. In various contexts, the using of teenagers language shows different forms. The using of Indonesian language in rubric “Deteksi†Jawa Pos brings particularity, syntactic, and lexicon level. This article aims to describe the language attitude of teenagers with using not standardized indicator of Indonesian language in rubric “Deteksi†Jawa Pos. The data in this research is in using Indonesian language in the forms of words, phrases and sentences. The method used in thisresearch is qualitative method. Data collection was conducted by using observation method and taking note technique. The data analyzing applied distributional method. The research result shows that (1) there are some not- standardized indicators in rubric “Deteksi†Jawa Pos such as interferences, code mixing, and unexamined spelling in writing forms and (2) teenegers language attitude in term of the awareness of language norm

    ASIMILASI DALAM ISOLEK BONAI ULAKPATIAN

    This study aims at describing the assimilation of Bonai Ulakpatian isolect in RiauProvince. This study is a linguistics research about sound changing that occurs on the different sounds to be the same sounds at the position between two vowels in the middle of a word in an isolect that is used by Bonai ethnic group in Ulakpatian Village, Rokan Hulu Regency. The data of the research is the utterances data of Bonai ethnic group community that referred to in selection of language data. The data were collected by applying interview method by using conversation and recording technique. The data were described phonetically by using IPA symbol, the data were compared with PM and made conclusion The result of the research shows that Bonai Ulakpatian isolect has four assimilation forms at the position between two vowels in the middle of a word, namely 1) PM *nd/v-v> BU [n]/v-v, 2) PM *ŋg/v-v> BU [ŋ]/v-v, 3) PM *mb/v-v> BU [m]/v-v that are total progressive assimilation and phonetics assimilation, and 4) PM *nj/v-v> BU [ñ]/v-v that are reciprocal and phonemic assimilation

    This paper discuss about segmental phonemes in Rejang Musi Dialect. The interviewees are four native speaker of Rejang Musi dialect in Rejanglebong region. Primary data was collected from the population by using interview techniques with listening method. The collected data transcripted used phonetic alphabet, analized by minimal pair, data grouping, and data cultivation to found alophone. To make vowels map and consonant map was done observation on shape of mouth and tongue position. This research report that 26 segmental phonemes exist in Rejang Musi Dialect. The 26 phonemes is consist of seven vowels, that is /i/, /u/, /e/, /Æ/, /Æ/, /o/, and /a/, and 19 consonant, that is p/, /b/, /t/,/d/, /k/, /g/, /Å‹/, /?/, /s/, /h/, /c/, /j/, /l/, /m/, /n/, /ň/, /w/, /r/, and /y/

The theory used Propp's theory about the functions of the perpetrators. This is a qualitative study using literature. The primary data bersumberkan Kampar folklore entitled “Si Lancang†issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Jakarta, 1982.     Myth and contra myth always exist in human beings life. Hence, both of them also exist in literary work. The existence of myths and contra myths in literary work can always be freedom or concerned. In the two short stories “Numbai†and “Lukah yang Tergantung di Dindingâ€, the myths are also presented by the authors and are attempted to be freedom by the new myths or contra myths. By applying structural analysis, the intrinsic elements of the myth and contra myth will be discovered. In these two short stories, the myths were presented from the beginning of the story and each of intrinsic elements supports the existence of myths. The myths are strengthened by the accidents that undergone by the main characters, as the agent who destroys myth. The meanings that can be taken from these two short stories are children must obey their parents

    Minangkabau ethnic group, as other ethnic groups in Indonesia, has many kinds of cultural heritages. Among other is Badampiang, an oral tradition. Badampiang (acting of accompanying) is mutually responding poetry (berbalas pantun) by the time accompanying a groom to a bride’s house to do the procession of wedding. This tradition is currently threatened to extinct, whereas in fact, it has many positive values which are deserved to be inherited to the next generations. Thus, it is important to do a research on Badampiang. This paper discussed about the speakers, the music instruments, the place, the time and the condition of Badampiang utterances. Besides, this paper also discussed the meaning contained in the text of Badampiang. The method used to investigate the tradition of Badampiang is hermeneutics method and theory of values. Therefore, the various elements that exist can be found so that badampiang will realize and the values that contained in the oral tradition
