Get PDFKabar perceraian Ahok membuat lini massa bergejolak. Padahal, beberapa waktu sebelumnya, Ahok sudah muncul dengan kasus penistaan agama yang menyita perhatian publik. Ia bahkan dipenjara akibat kasus ini. Persoalan Ahok tersebut mengundang beragam respons dari warganet. Pemberitaan di berbagai media pun tidak pernah putus, termasuk Republika. Beragam pula model pemberitaan yang bermunculan. Untuk itu, pada penelitian ini, penulis tertarik melakukan analisis terhadap pemberitaan terkait perceraian Ahok dan Veronica Tan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan struktur teks, praktik wacana, dan ideologi pemberitaan terkait perceraian Ahok melalui pendekatan analisis wacana kritis Fairclough. Data penelitian berupa dokumen pemberitaan di www.republika.com. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa analisis tekstual pada bagian pembuka terlihat pemilihan judul yang tidak menyudutkan Ahok dan bagian penutup menggunakan argumentatif untuk menetralkan isu-isu negatif. Dimensi praktik wacana menunjukkan pemberitaan Republika tidak bisa dilepaskan dari sosok pribadi Ahok. Dimensi praktik sosial budaya menunjukkan Ahok menyita perhatian publik ketika terkait kasus penistaan agama dan dipenjara. Ahok kembali mencuat ke publik terkait perceraian. Get PDFThis research aims to describe students’ Indonesian language skills at private and state universities in East Java. The issues discussed are the comparison of the Section I (Listening), Section II (Grammar), Section III (Reading), and the overall score of Indonesian language proficiency. This is a descriptive quantitative research. The data were obtained from the report results UKBI of 3 state universities and 3 private universities in East Java which have a major in Indonesian language education and make UKBI as a measuring tool to know the language skills of students. The results show, based on the score of UKBI, the average score of section I, II, III, and UKBI scores on public university students is higher than that of private universities. Based on the predicate of UKBI, the average score of Indonesian university students in private and state universities is on the same predicate, which is superior

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan representasi falsafah Jawa dalam cerita rakyat tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian berupa kata-kata dan kalimat, baik berupa narasi cerita maupun percakapan tokoh dalam cerita. Objek penelitian ini adalah cerita rakyat “Terjadinya Terowongan Air angge†di ecamatan Sukorejo, Kabupaten Ponorogo. Sumber data adalah cerita rakyat “Terjadinya Terowongan Air angge†yang telah dibukukan dalam Kumpulan Cerita Rakyat Kabupaten Ponorogo oleh Kasnadi dan Hurustyanti (2016). Ideologi Islam-Jawa pada Kumpulan Puisi Mantra Orang Jawa Karya Sapardi Djoko Damono
Get PDFThis article describes the Islam-Javanese ideology in Sapardi Djoko Damono’s Mantra Orang Jawa poetry collection. The depiction of the ideology is examined based on the concept of signs that appear in it. Those signs are then analyzed based on the Pierce’s semiotics theory by regarding representament, object, and interpretant. Further, this article shows the relationship of those signs with other text. The discussions led to the meaning of the concept of IslamJavanese ideology represented in Sapardi Djoko Damono’s Mantra Orang Jawa poetry collection. Finally, this article also offers a reconstruction of the Islam-Javanese society’s classification which tends to be aristocratic. Thus, the Islam-Javanese societies classification proposed by Clifford Geertz, namely santri, priayi, and abangan should be enhanced with the ideology of Islam-Javanese which tends to avoid sharia centric as part of normative Islam

Get PDFDiscussion activities can be an effort in improving students' speaking skills through the disclosure of ideas and opinions about a problem. However, sometimes the use of language that is less polite when students express their opinions still appears. There is a need for polite discussion with proper diction when interacting with others. This study aims to describe the form of students' language politeness in class discussions and the characteristics of lingual marker. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with sociopragmatic approach. Data are in the form of students' speech in discussion. Technique of collecting data is by recording technique with free listening method (SBLC). Data analysis techniques use interactive model in the form of data collection, data reduction, data analysis, and conclusion. The results show that there are tact maxim, generosity maxim, approbation maxim, modesty maxim, agreement maxim, and sympathy maxim. The characteristic markers of linguistic politeness are “silakanâ€, “tolongâ€, “maafâ€, “terima kasihâ€, and “mariâ€
SITUASI DIGLOSIA SUKU BONAI DI PROVINSI RIAU
Get PDFBonai ethnic/people (indigenous and minority people in Riau Province) is a bi/multilingual society. They have the potential to be a diglossic society because mastering and using more than one language in communication. To find out the potential, this study focused on the diglossia of the Bonai ethnic.The aims are to define and describe the status of the Bonai people diglossia in terms of function, prestige, cultural heritage, acquisition, standardization, stability, lexicon, andphonological systems. This study is quantitative and qualitative. Data were collected through surveys using questionnaires and literature studies. The sample numbered is 78 people, drawn by purposive random technique. Quantitative data is processed by Excel and SPSS program and qualitative data with discourse analysis. From the data analysis, the Bonai people can be categorized as both diglossia and bilingualism. The conclusions are based on the aspects of function, prestige, acquisition, standardization, lexicon, and phonological systems. Indonesian is H code (high) while the language of Bonai people is L code (low). Nevertheless, the situation of diglossia in the Bonai people has not been steady in terms of stability since it has not taken place in hundreds of years. In addition, there is also a leaked of diglossia, the infiltration of L code into the domain of H code or vice versa

In the two novels, there is an attempt to struggle his characters to try to get out of an impartial tradition for women. This study aims to discover the similarities and differences between the two novels in terms of structure and how the struggles of the figures are described and give the reason why they did the struggle. Theories used arecomparative literature and gender studies. The method used in this research is descriptiveanalytical method. Based on the analysis and comparison of data, it can be concluded that the two novels studied have similarities of background, characterization, plot, and theme. The difference between the two appears in the element point of view. Based on the theme, it can be concluded further that the struggle of Papuan women in two novels have the same view, that education becomes the way out for Papuan women to get equal degree with men

Get PDFLatah is one of fluency disorder. Latah speech production is unique because there is a systematic repetition of sounds. Study on latah speech based on speech production has never been done. Therefore, this study identify the process of speech production of latah by applying acoustic phonetics approach. This study uses a mixture of quantitative and qualitative methods with experimental approach. Data measured using praat application. The result shows that latah speech has a unique character, which has a duration of increasingly rapid character from thebeginning to the end of the segment, it has a regular tone structure, with signs of increasing in intensity in the segment of the sound /e/ in the middle of the speech
PENERAPAN METODE REVIEW STUDY VERBALIZE PREVIEW (RSVP) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENYIMAK
Get PDFThis classroom action research aims to improve the ability of students grade VIB State Elementary School Number 125 Pekanbaru, academic year 2014/2015 in listening children story in Indonesian subject by applying Review Study Verbalize Preview (RSVP) method. The subject of this study is the 22 students of grade VIB academic year 2014/2015 that consist of 9 males and 13 females. The technique used in this research is test, observation, and documentationtechniques. The result shows that the average of students’ ability in listening children story before the action just reached 69,55% under "Underachiever" category, with completion rate is 45,45% or 10 students passed. At the first cycle, it improvesto 83,18% under "Able" category, with completion rate is 68,18% or 15 students passed. The second cycle, students’ listening ability improve to 91,36% under "Overachiever" category, with completion rate is 95,45% or 21 students passed. The implementation of Review Study Verbalize Preview (RSVP) method improves students’ ability in listening the subject of Indonesian language at the VIB students of State Elementary School 125 Pekanbaru

The low scientific writing skill of the students can be seen from the students’ composing sentences that have not used correct arrangement patterns in describing an essay yet. To overcome the low skill of writing scientific essay, the researcher proposed solution by using cooperative learning model Three Stay One Stray. The formulation of the problem in this research is whether the application of Three Stay One Stray learning model can improve student learning outcomes of grade VII.2 SMPN 3 Pekanbaru in 2016/2017. This study aims to determine whether the application of learning model Three Stay One Stray can improve student learning outcomes of grade VII.2 SMPN 3 Pekanbaru Academic Year 2016/2017. This classroom action research is conducted for 2 months, from September toNovember 2016. This classroom action research is conducted in 2 cycles, with 6 meetings. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation of learning model Three Stay One Stray can improve student learning outcomes of grade VII.2 SMPN 3 Pekanbaru in 2016/2017. It can be seen from the improvement of learning outcomes of Indonesian language subject before and after the implementation of cooperative learning model Three Stay One Stray in cycle I and cycle II
