    The Effectiveness of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy towards Self Acceptance on Students in BOPKRI 2 Yogyakarta Senior High School

    A Child who has trouble with his peer group founded in any school, it’s starting from elementary school until senior high school.  But, mostly the problem with peer group more complicated happen in senior high school.  For example, in BOPKRI 2 Yogyakarta Senior High School, the author found that many students whom also being a bullying victim, they could not accept her condition.  They have to obey the rule in their peer group even though they did not like it.  So in other words, these students have the low self-acceptance.   In this study, an author will use cognitive behavior therapy to increase student’s self-acceptance.  This study also aims to obtain some empirical data about how effective cognitive behavior therapy towards self-acceptance on the student in BOPKRI 2 Yogyakarta Senior High School. This study used Quasi Experiment method with One Group Pretest – Posttest Design.  The subject of this study is two student who also is a bullying victim in BOPKRI 2 Yogyakarta Senior High School.  The result of this study showed that after an intervention, the level of student’s self-acceptance was increased from low to medium, with the average changes in 35,1%, based on the result it can be concluded that cognitive behavior therapy was effective to increase the student’s self-acceptance in BOPKRI 2 Yogyakarta

    The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of public speaking training with cognitive behavioral therapy towards public speaking anxiety. Another purpose was to examine the difference of this training effectiveness towards both genders, male and female. The training method is appropriate for applying cognitive behavioral approaches because this method aims to change cognition and to train certain behaviors for an individual to the adaptive and better behavior. The purposive sampling is used in this experimental research to obtain 20 samples including 10 males and 10 females sit in the third grade of a senior high class of TrubusIman Islamic Boarding School and have public speaking anxiety in the medium and high level.  The method used quantitative approach for analyzing data. It can be concluded that the training had been effectively minimizing public speaking anxiety but this research could not able show the difference of the training effectiveness among both genders

    Cultural Aspects on Child’s Development and Parenting in Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia

    This paper describes the influence of culture in defining the concept of a child, the stages of development and parenting of children in Manggarai, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. The main questions are how do Manggaraian people define a child in their culture? How do people divide the stages of child development? What do parenting styles develop by the people to their children? How are these concepts different and similar to the general psychological concept about children? This paper was based on a qualitative research. The methods used were ethnography and grounded theory. Through these two mix approaches, the study is to explore and analyze the culture of Manggarai. The research found that: 1) the concept of a child in Manggarai depends on the way the people understand family and community rather than understand a child as just an individual. 2) There are three main stages of childhood development within the culture of Manggarai; 3) As a patriarchal community, the Manggarai people have unique parenting style to the son and daughter; 4). One unique parenting style within the culture of Manggarai was to educate a child to “fear of spirits and ancestors”

    The Influence of Peer Social Support to Student with Special Needs in Elementary Schools Inclusion

    This study aimed to determine the effect of value social support learning through audio visual media to peer social support in Student with Special Needs in Elementary School Inclusion. The research design used quasi experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. Participants in this study were students in one of  elementary school inclusion Malang grade 3, 4 and 5. The research instrument used the scale of social support peers referring to Sarafino and Smith (2011) and value social support learning through audio visual media that is social support video. Data analysis using IBM SPSS statistics 23.0 software with t-test using paired sample t-test. Finding showed that Value learning through social support video effects to peer social support in student with Special Needs in Elementary School Inclusion, with significance of 0.001 (p <0.05)

    The Effect of Emotional Intelligence Against Student Achievement aims to determine the effect of emotional intelligence which consists of self awareness, self management, Motivation, social awareness, relationship management partially and simultaneously on learning achievement. Respondents are students of SMP Negeri 4 Lalan Bumi Agung  Vilage Musi Banyuasin Regency to be 135 people. Methods of data analysis using regression analysis techniques. Partial assay results (t-test) showed emotional intelligence consists of Self awareness, self management, Motivation, social awareness, relationship management positive and significant effect on learning achievement. Simultaneous Test Results (Test-F) emotional intelligence consists of Self awareness, self management, motivation, social awareness, relationship management and significant positive effect on learning achievement. Social awareness is more dominant influence on learning achievement

    Self-Concept in Student Learning and Motivation Truant : Descriptive-Correlation Studies

    This research is aimed describ the learning motivation and self-concept of students who truant. This study used a descriptive quantitative method. The research conducted by the students of SMAN 5 Padangsidimpuan in the period of 2015/2016 with the total of the population was 420 students. Amount of research sample was 36 students and had been chosen by using purposive sampling technique. An instrument employed in this study was a Likert-scaled questionnaire. Data were analyzed by using percentage technique and the relationship between the two variables was analyzed by using nonparametric statistic, that is Spearman’s Coefficient of Rank Correlation. Results of this research are just like the following: 1) participants’ level of achievement on self-concept of students who truant is about 69,8%, 2) participants’ level of achievement on learning motivation of students who truant is about 69,2%, and 3) correlation coefficient of self-concept and learning motivation of students who truant is about 0,581. Therefore, it can be concluded that students who truancy have very low self-concept and learning motivation, and there is a significant relationship between self-concept and learning motivation.     Research on positive psychology has widely grown since its emergence.  The strength of the human becomes a key point of positive psychology to explore, such as self-efficacy, optimism, self-control, etc.  This research applied positive psychology to evaluate the role of social-emotional health on the academic achievement of college students. There were 107 first year psychology students of the Islamic University of Indonesia participating this study.  Data were collected using the Social Emotional Health Survey System (SEHS-S) developed by Jones, You, and Furlong (2012) and Grade Point Average (GPA) of students. Data analysis showed that Social Emotional Health was correlated with GPA. Three domains within Social Emotional Health Survey System such as belief in self, emotional competence, and engaged living were positively correlated with GPA. However, belief in others does not correlate with GPA

    The Development of Group Guidance Service Model to Increase The Competence Of Counselor Candidate

    The group guidance service model is one of the solutions done to increase the competence of counselor candidate, as the model will help students to know their self to be better.  This service guidance is done by designing a program, implementing, evaluating, grasping the concept, and doing an assessment. The purpose of this study is to develop group guidance service model which can be accepted by the students to escalate the competence of counselor candidate. Another goal is to know the effectivity of the model in increasing the competence of counselor candidate. The type of this study is research and development by using development strategy model. The development cycles consist of product development, testing the product, revising, retesting, and re-revising until the product is considered proper to be used.  Based on the study result, we can conclude that group guidance service model is acceptable, appropriate to be used, and useful to help in increasing the competence of counselor candidate. It is proven based on the sig value by comparing data of pre-test and post-test. The sig value (0.000) is lower than the standard (0.05). Therefore, there is significant influence between group guidance service model in increasing the competence of counselor candidate

    Implementation of law number 22 in the year of 1999 on regional autonomy has changed the management of government of Indonesia, both on the national scale and on a regional one. One of thegovernment institutions that got its impact is Family Planning Program. This program has implications, not only to advisor’s attitudes and work behaviors, such as job performance and working motivation but also to government commitment on the reception and implementation of this program namely formation of family planning institutions at theregional level.One of the attitudes indicated by the advisor in the form of complaints related to salary wages and operating costs are not considered balance with the workload that causes themotivation and performance of work decrease. Other phenomena are to turn over the workers in the family planning and other government institutions. Accumulation of these could be the cue of advisors’ weak commitment towards their institutions. Implications: This study can provide an understanding of job satisfaction and increase the extension's commitment in performing its duties
