This study aims to describe the problem solving of fractional. This type of research is descriptive using a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were grade VII students of SMP Negeri Model Terpadu Madani Palu consisting of 3 students who were divided into 1 student with high mathematical abilities, 1 student with moderate mathematics ability, and 1 student with low mathematical abilities selected based on processing the final semester exam scores in odd semester 2021/2022. The results showed that students whit high math skills were able to solve problems well based on Polya’s problem solving steps, starting from the stage of understanding the problem, to the stage of re-examining the answers. Students who are mathematically capable are doing mathematical problem solving well at the stage of understanding the problem, the stage of making plans, but at the stage of implementing the plan students are wrong in changing the fraction division operation into the form of fraction multiplication operations, moderately capable subjects do not change the position of the numerator into the denominator and the denominator into the numerator which is the settlement area, the stage of re-checking the students answers only checks again by looking at the results of the answers. Students whit low math abilities have not done problem solving well, that is, they can only rewrite existing information without understanding the existing information, unable to make plans because they feel confused in thinking about plans that must be used to solve problems, cannot carry out problem solving plans. And can’t recheck the answer. This is because students cannot solve the given problem

This study aims to obtain a description of the application of differentiated learning to improve learning outcomes in the flat sided geometric material for class VIII C MTs Negeri 2 Palu City. The subjects of this study were 32 students of class VIII C. This research is Classroom Action Research which refers to the research design of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The results of the study show that the application of differentiated learning can improve learning outcomes in the flat sided geometric material for students VIII C MTs Negeri 2 Palu City by modifying the learning process based on the learning profile. This research was conducted in two cycles following the cooperative model syntax with a differentiated learning approach in the phase of organizing students into groups and the phase of guiding groups. In the organizing phase, the teacher groups students based on learning styles, namely (1) Visual groups, given teaching materials in the form ofpowerpoint, (2) the auditory group, given learning videos, and (3) the kinesthetic group, given teaching materials and teaching aids. Whereas in the group guiding phase, the teacher guides each group in different ways, namely (1) Visual group, the teacher directs students to draw geometric shapes on paper and then explains them, (2) Auditory group, the teacher re-explains the example questions in the video by easy-to-understand language, and (3) kinesthetic group, the teacher relates the learning material to the teaching aids use

This study is research that uses a qualitative a approach that aims to describe misconceptions of the  Madrasah Tsanawiyah Kaleolangi Bou on integer arithmetic operations. The subjects in this study were two students class seven students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Kaleolangi Bou who experience this type of misconception concept error. Data collection is done through written assignments, interviews and members check. The results of this study indicate that students' misconceptions (concept error) (1) students have not been able to understand correctly the rules summation operations, (2) students give a statement that if faced with the addition of addition operations students still add it without look at the negative, (3) students have not been able to understand the concept of operations subtraction properly, (4) students give a statement that students will gives a negative sign if he gets one of the two numbers operated is negative, and (5) students give a statement that if subtraction must be subtracted, students subtract numbers without see the positives and negatives that result in the results of the work experiencing errors

This study aims to obtain a description of students' abilities in solving HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill) Type Number Pattern Problems Based on the Mathematics Ability of Class VIII B SMP IT (Integrated Islam) Qurrata A'yun Palu. This research is descriptive with a qualitative approach based on the problem-solving steps put forward by Polya. The results showed that subjects with high-level thinking skills and moderate-level thinking skills in solving mathematical problems with number patterns were as follows: (1) in understanding the problem, students with high-order thinking skills and moderate-level thinking skills demonstrated an understanding that was relevant to gathering information. The information contained in the problem can identify the problem of the problem with knowledge of the sentence "statement". (2) in planning problem solving, high-level ability subjects can plan a good strategy to achieve the goals in a problem and can choose relevant information from the problem. Meanwhile, subjects with moderate ability are quite good at planning problem solving however formulating a strategy is still not appropriate to be able to solve the problem properly. (3) in carrying out a problem-solving plan, subjects with high levels of ability are very good at executing, and carrying out planning and are able to organize and integrate problems with relevant prior knowledge, as well as subjects with moderate levels of ability (4) in re-examining, high subjects re-examining because it can monitor, check or detect the final results and unexpected events. Meanwhile, subjects with moderate ability did not re-examine because they felt unsure about solving the problems they were doing.   Keywords: ability analysis, HOTs type questions, learning outcomes, response quality, number pattern

Data was collected by giving assignments and interviews. The results of this study indicate that solving problems for students with high mathematical abilities: (1) can use the correct steps. (2) can use exponential properties in solving questions number 1, 2 and 3 correctly. Then solving the questions for students with moderate mathematical abilities: (1) still wrong in solving problem number 1, students do not know the correct nature of the form of dividing numbers with rank. (2) in questions number 2 and 3 the student was right in solving the problem, but the student only finished up to a simple rank. . As well as students with low mathematical abilities: (1) in question number 1 students do not use the properties in the exponential form. (2) in questions number 2 and 3 students are still wrong in solving because students do not know the properties of exponential number forms
