    PROFIL PENYELESAIAN SOAL KEDUDUKAN DUA GARIS DALAM BIDANG DATAR SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 4 SIGI: Profile of Solving the Position of Two Lines in a Flat Plane For Class VIII Stident of SMP Negeri 4 Sigi

    This study aims to obtain a description of the problem solving for the position of two lines in a flat plane for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Sigi. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were selected based on the results of the odd semester report cards for class VIII A students. The subjects used in this study were students, namely one student each with high and low a mathematical abilities. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Completion of students with high mathematical abilities in solving parallel line problems, namely determining the coordinate points on both lines and using the gradient formula of the line. Then connect the gradient value of the line obtained with the condition that the two lines are parallel. After that, show the image of the two parallel lines. (2) Completion of students with high mathematical abilities in solving perpendicular line problems, namely determining the coordinate points on both lines and using the gradient formula of the line. Then connect the gradient value of the line obtained with the condition that the two lines are mutually perpendicular. After that, show the image of two lines that are perpendicular to each other. (3) Completion of low math ability students in solving parallel line problems, namely determining the coordinate points on both lines and using the gradient formula of the line. (4) Completion of students with low a mathematical ability in solving perpendicular line problems by determining coordinate points on both lines and using the gradient formula of the line

    This research is aimed to obtain error description by students on math midterm at SMP Bala Keselamatan Balamoa based on Newman. This research is descriptive research which used qualitative approach. The data was collected using documentation and interview. The result shows that: (1) the kind of numerical pattern material is a mistake in comprehension error (comprehension error), transformation error (transformation error), process skill error (process skill error), and encoding error (encoding error). (2) kind of errors in kartesius coordinate is comprehension error (comprehension error), transformation error (transformation error), and encoding error (encoding error). (3) error in relation and function material is comprehension error (comprehension error), transformation error (transformation error), and encoding error (encoding error)

    This study aims to profile the critical thinking of students with high, medium and low mathematical abilities in solving PISA questionst about change and relationship content in class VIII MTsN 2 Palu. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were students of class VIII MTsN 2 Palu who had high, medium and low mathematical abilities. The results showed that: 1) critical thinking of students who have high mathematical abilities in solving PISA questions with change and relationship content, namely planning and conducting experiments with good investigations, being open-minded and paying attention to other alternatives to solving problems, define terms in a way that is appropriate to the context, draw conclusions from solving problems orally and writing, establish interactions with other people to obtain information that is not understood and evaluate the results of their work. 2) Critical thinking students with medium mathematical abilities in solving PISA questions with change and relationship content, namely developing and maintaining actions in solving problems by using formulas, being open-minded and paying attention to other alternatives for solving problems, drawing conclusions from solving problems verbally properly, and evaluating the results of their work. 3) Critical thinking of students with low mathematical abilities in solving PISA questions with change and relationship content, namely developing and maintaining actions in solving problems using formulas and evaluating the results of their work

    ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA PERBANDINGAN DI KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 4 PALU BERDASARKAN TAHAPAN PENYELESAIAN POLYA

    This study aims to describe the types of mistakes made by students in solving comparative word problems based on the Polya stages. The subjects of this study were students of class VII Sis Al-Jufri SMP Negeri 4 Palu, totaling 3 students, namely RT, PA, and AN students. This type of research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection is done by tests and interviews. The results of this study indicate that students' mistakes in solving comparative word problems, especially in comparison of values ​​and comparisons of grades VII Sis Al-Jufri SMP Negeri 4 Palu, are 1) Misunderstanding of the problem (under standing the problem), namely students cannot determine what is known and what is asked in the problem, 2) Mistakes in planning a settlement plan (devise a plan), namely students cannot look for concepts or theories that support each other and look for the necessary formulas. 3) Errors in implementing the completion plan (carrying out the plan), namely students not using the steps correctly and not using procedures that are in accordance with the intent of the problem. 4) Errors in checking answers (looking back), namely students do not re-check and re-examine carefully every step of the solution take

    This study aims tofind out the types of mistakes made by students in solving quadrilateral story problemsbased on the Newman Procedure. The subjects of this study were class VII A students of SMP Negeri 12 Palu,totaling 2 people, namely AA students and RA students. This type of research uses descriptive research with aqualitative approach. Data collection is carried out by tests and interviews. The results of this study show thatstudents' mistakes in solving quadrilateral story problems, especially in rectangular and square class VII A ofSMP Negeri 12 Palu are 1) reading errors, namely students are unable to recognize the keywords contained inthe questions. 2) Comprehension errors, namely students know what is known completely, are able to explainwhat is known using their own sentences, and are able to understand what is asked according to the questionrequest. 3) Transformation errors, namely students do not know the formula to be used and unable to determinethe exact formula in solving the problem. 4) Process skills errors, namely students do not know the correctprocedures or steps to solve the problem, and are wrong in carrying out the calculation process, namely inoperating numbers. 5) Enconding errors, namely students are unable to show the final answer to the problemsolving,are unable to write andexplain the final answer according to the conclusion inquestion

    This study aims to obtain a description of the application of the Think-Talk-Write (TTW) cooperative learning model in improving student learning outcomes on the surface area of ​​prisms and pyramids in class VIII SMP IT Qurrota A'yun Palu. This research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which refers to the research design of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart namely (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. Data collection techniques in this study used observation sheets, interviews, field notes, and tests of student learning outcomes. The subjects in this study were all class IIC students at SMP IT Qurrota A'yun Palu who were registered in the 2021/2022 academic year, totaling 23 students and 3 students were selected as informants. The results of thes study show taht learning by applying the Think-Talk-Write cooperative learning model can improve student learning outcomes on the material surface area of prisms and pyramids in grade VIII SMP IT Qurrota A’yun Palu with the following phases: (1) convey learning objectives and prepare students, (2 ) presenting information, (3) organizing students into study teams, (4) helping teamwork and learning with the think-talk-write stage, (5) evaluating, (6) giving recognition or awards

    This study aimed to obtain a description of the critical thinking profile of seventh-grade students in solving social arithmetic story problems at SMP Negeri 8 Palu. This type of research is descriptive with qualitative approach. The subjects of this study where three of class VII A students of SMP Negeri 8 Palu, who each have high, mederate and low mathematical abilities. Subjects were selected based on the consideration that the selected students were communicative students. Data collection techniques in research using critical thinking skills question and interview. Based on the results of research, data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the critical thinking profile of class VII students of SMP Negeri 8 Palu in solving problems story on the materials of social arithmetic shape theory that is, the critical thinking profile of students with high mathematical abilities (MS) includes, providing simple explanation, building basic skills, the ability to solve problems and conclude, the critical thinking profile of students with moderate mathematical abilities (ID) includes, providing simple explanations, the ability to solve problems and conclusions and the critical thinking profile of students with low mathematical abilities (AI) only to provide explanations simple

    The purpose of this study was to describe the conceptual understanding of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 18 Palu in solving problems in social arithmetic material in terms of gender. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. The subject of this study consisted of one male student with high mathematical ability (LT) and one female student with high mathematical ability (PT). The results of this study indicate an understanding of the concept of male students (LT), namely being able to classify social arithmetic. Apply the concept logically and explain using your own language, namely explaining the reasons why using the concept of loss and percentage of loss due to solving problems. Give examples and non-examples of social arithmetic. Presenting a social arithmetic problem in various forms of mathematical representation, namely presenting known data, writing down what is known. As well as consistent use in solving problems and answering according to the steps. Understanding the concept of female students (PT) is able to classify social social arithmetic. Apply the concept logically and explain using your own language, namely explaining the reasons for using the loss concept because you were asked about the percentage of loss and could not solve the problem because you did not know how to find the percentage of loss. Give examples and non-examples of social arithmetic. Presenting a social arithmetic problem in various forms of mathematical representation, namely presenting known data, writing down what is known and what is asked. However, I can't solve the problem because I don't know how to find the loss percentage

    This study aims to obtain a description of the mathematical understanding abilities of class X students of SMAN 1 Sindue Tobata on trigonometry based on learning styles.  This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach.  The subjects of this study were three students of class X MIPA 1 who had visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles.  Data were collected through written assignments and interviews.  Based on the indicators of students' mathematical understanding ability, the research results obtained were (1) subjects with a visual learning style type were able to restate the trigonometry concepts they had learned, were not able to present trigonometry concepts in various forms of mathematical representations and were not able to use, utilize, and choose procedures or trigonometry calculation operations in completing tasks correctly.  (2) subjects with the type of auditory learning style can restate the trigonometry concepts that have been learned, have not been able to present trigonometry concepts in various forms of mathematical representations, and can’t determine the trigonometry ratio formula correctly.  (3) subjects with a type of kinesthetic learning style, namely being able to restate the trigonometry concepts that have been learned, not being able to present trigonometry concepts in various forms of mathematical representations, not being able to use, utilize, and choose procedures or arithmetical trigonometry operations correctly

    PROFIL REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS SISWA PADA MATERI BANGUN RUANG SISI DATAR DI SMP NEGERI 02 BARAS: Profile of Student’s Mathematical Representation of Geometry Flat Side at Smp Negeri 02 Baras

    This study aims to describe the mathematical representation of geometry flat  side at SMP Negeri 02 Baras. This type of research is qualitative research. The subjects of this study were grade IX students of SMP Negeri 02 Baras which consisted of one student with high math ability and one student with low math ability. Collecting data by giving assignments and interviews. The results of this study are: (1) Students' mathematical representation on visual representation for students with high mathematical abilities to solve problems by making pictures of geometric patterns to clarify and facilitate completion, students with high mathematical abilities make geometric patterns according to the problem given, namely drawing cubes and pyramids, while students with low math skills do not draw geometric patterns to clarify and facilitate completion. (2) Students' mathematical representation on symbolic representation for students with high and low mathematical abilities to solve problems involving mathematical expressions, namely determining the formula used using mathematical symbols and performing number operations correctly. (3) The students' mathematical representation on the verbal representation for students with high mathematical abilities explains the steps for solving mathematical problems in written and oral texts, while students with low mathematical abilities are still wrong in determining the steps for solving them
