    Entomopatogenic Nematodes is the biological insecticides can be used to control Lepidoptera, Coleopteraand Diptera order.The nematodes can be isolated from soil of several locations in East Java. The aim of theresearch is to know the genera of entomopathogenic nematodes and population density of that nematodes from each location in East Java. The methods of the research are nematodes isolation with baiting methods, identification and count of nematodes population density. The result of the research showed that the entomopathogenic nematodes Isolate was found from Jember, Malang, Mojokerto, Sidoarjo. The genera of all nematodes Isolate is Steinernema sp.     EKSTRAKSI OLEORESIN JAHE (Zingiber officinale) KAJIAN DARI UKURAN BAHAN, PELARUT, WAKTU DAN SUHU

    This study aimed at investigating the best condition in terms of material size, solvent type, time and temperature of the extraction process to produce oleoresin. This study consisted of two stages. This study used the Block Randomized Design with six replications. Experiment I was a single factorial experiment consisting of three treatments, the material size of 20 mesh, 40 mesh and 60 mesh. The best result yielded in the first experiment was used for the second experiment. Experiment II consisted of three factors, the treatment of which were arranged in a nested design. Each treatment was repeated three times. Factor I, the solvent, consisted of two levels: ethanol and acetone. Factor II, the time, consisted of three levels: one hour, three hours and five hours. Factor III, the tempetarature, consisted of three levels : (30±1)oC, (40±1)oC and (50±1) oC.Experiment I revealed that the best result was yielded at a material size of 40 mesh, an oleoresin content of 20.60 % and a volatile oil concentration of 21.26 %. Experiment II showed that the usage of ethanol solvent for three hours at a temperature of 40oC yielded the best ginger oleoresin. The extract contained 22.12 % oleoresin, 20.27 % volatile oil content, and 9.20 % solvent remains with a 1.5173 deviation index.The conclusion of this study is that the best ginger oleoresin axtract is produced from a material size of 40mesh using the extraction condition of ethanol solvent for 3 hours at 40oC.Key words : ginger, oleoresin, extrac

    The experimental was conducted in randomized block design and three replication with three factor. First factor was fertilize cage with dose 0 tonha-1, 10 tonha-1, 20 tonha-1 and 30 tonha-1. Second factor was fertilize KCl with dose 175 kgha-1, 200 kgha-1and 225 kgha-1. Three factor dolomit with dose 100 kgha-1, 125 kgha-1and 150 kgha-1. Result showed that addition fertilize Cage, fertilize KCl and Dolomit by signifikan on weight fruit, sugar content, and fibre of melon. Rate of weight with mean 1.82 kg. Rate of highest Heavy at treatment B3K2CM3 (2.30 kg) and lowered at treatment B1K3CM2 (1.20 kg). Rate of sugar with mean 10.47% and rate of fibre with mean 9.86%. Rate of highest Sugar at treatment B3K3CM3 (13.44%) and lowered at treatment of B1K2CM2 of equal to 7.20%. rate of highest fibre at treatment B4K1CM3 (11.72%). and lowerwd at treatment of B2K1CM2 of equal to 7.78%.     RESPON KONSUMEN TAHU TERHADAP KENAIKAN HARGA KEDELAI DI KABUPATEN BANTUL

    This research aims to describe the consumer attitude and behavior toward the increase of the soybean price and to know the consumer response toward the increase of the soybean price taken from the attitude and behavior change point of view. The site of the research was intentionally chosen in Bantul Region since therewere lot of tofu vendors in the region, and there were 150 samples of consumers. Description was used to describe the consumer attitude, behavior, and response. The result of the analysis showed that the consumer response toward the increase of the soybean price remained the same, because all of the consumers gave theneutral response. The result of this research also showed that the price of the tofu remained the same but the size was smaller so that the price was still affordable for the consumers. It is recommended for the tofu producers if the soybean price increases, they should not increase the tofu price but make the tofu size smaller.Key words : attitude, behavior, response, soybean, and consumer

    EVALUASI DAN DAMPAK PELAKSANAAN PROGRAM BANTUAN DANA BAGI HASIL CUKAI TEMBAKAU MADURA

    The aim of the research were 1) to find an information of the implementation of the funding program to the tobacco farmers group (where the funds was collected from the tobacco excise tax), 2) to formulate the alternatives of problem-solving during the implementation of the funding program to the tobacco farmers group, and 3) to find the impact of the funding program to the productivity and income of the tobacco farming. Data was collected in Sumenep and Pamekasan regencies, as the centre production of Madurese tobacco, during August - September 2009 using survey method. The results showed, that the funding program to the tobacco farmers group in Sumenep regency in 2009 was aimed for the arid and hilly land. This program was released as equipment assistance, capital assistance and guidance to the tobacco farmers group, while in Pamekasan regency, such program was implemented for organizing tobacco nursery. Problem faced in the implementation of this funding program in Sumenep and Pamekasan regencies was too late in disbursing of the funds. In Sumenep regency, this problem caused the late of the coming of pump water aid, whereas the tobacco plants needed to be watered. In Pamekasan regency, too late in disbursing of the funds resulted the implementation of the program such as preparation of the seed was delayed. Problem solving alternatives of the late in disbursing funds aid in the two regencies were collecting the capital from the group members or by borrowing the capital from the another fundsources. Funding program to the tobacco farmers group in Sumenep and Pamekasan regencies gave positive impact to the increasing of productivity and income of the tobacco farming.Keywords: Funding program, farmers group and Tobacc

    The research was conducted at ex-rice field farm in countryside of Klerek, district of Junrejo, Batu. The research took place in rainy season from October until December 2005. Research location resided at height 800 m above sea level. To understand the distribution of purple blotch disease at each observation time, data was obtained from the amount of leaf infection at every crop clump of sample from each experiment plot. The result of the research showed that at age 49 and 52 days after planting, patogen distributed randomly. At the time of early observation 49 days after planting, the distribution of disease followed theory distribution, that is, poisson distribution (p== 0,57). Hereinafter, at age 52 and 55 days, pathogen disseminate aggregately, by increasing age until age 61 days after planting, the distribution of patogen reverse to have random character. The development of disease in the early observation was linear and at age 58-61 days after planting,  it started in fonn of curvilinier.     Physical of soil is one of the factors that affect the value of land erosion besides management of vegetation, organic materials and slope. Transformation of land use arrangement is very affecting at degradation of land and the height of erosion. This study aims to examine whether there are changes in the soil physical of the land in relation to the value of erodibility and against land erosion value. This research was conducted in Kabupaten Kediri many kind of land use, forests, alley cropping and monoculture. Erosion value is calculated according to USLE (Universal Soil Loss Equation) methode. The results of the research obtained that forest have a erosion 12.1 tons / ha / that can be criteria on medium danger erosion, while the monoculture and alley cropping have a height erosion level with a value erosion 17.6 tons / ha / year and 51.45 tons / ha / year.Key words : Soil physical, land use, erosion valu
