This text, directed to the microwave engineers and Master and PhD students, is on the use of electromagnetics to the development and design of advanced integrated components distinguished by their extended field of applications. The results of hundreds of authors scattered in numerous journals and conference proceedings are carefully reviewed and classed.
Several chapters are to refresh the knowledge of readers in advanced electromagnetics. New techniques are represented by compact electromagnetic–quantum equations which can be used in modeling of microwave-quantum integrated circuits of future In addition, a topological method to the boundary value problem analysis is considered with the results and examples.
One extended chapter is for the development and design of integrated components for extended bandwidth applications, and the technology and electromagnetic issues of silicon integrated transmission lines, transitions, filters, power dividers, directional couplers, etc are considered. Novel prospective interconnects based on different physical effects are reviewed as well.
The ideas of topology is applicable to the electromagnetic signaling and computing, when the vector field maps can carry discrete information, and this area and the results in topological signaling obtained by different authors are analyzed, including the recently designed predicate logic processor operating spatially represented signal units.
The book is rich of practical examples, illustrations, and references and useful for the specialists working at the edge of contemporary technology and electromagnetics

Validated Stability Indicating Assay of Linezolid by Spectrophotometric and High Performance Liquid Chromatographic Methods
Simple, precise and sensitive methods have been used for the determination of linezolid and its alkaline induced degradation product and in pharmaceutical dosage form. The first method depends on differential derivative spectrophotometry that is based on inducing spectral changes upon changing pH of the medium. In this method, ∆A values have been measured at 227.2 nm and Beer's law was obeyed in concentration range of 2.0-14.0 μgm1-1. Another three methods based on derivative spectrophotometry including D2, D3 and D4 were proposed in which the derivative amplitudes were measured at 260.9 nm, 252.0 nm, 245.6 nm respectively. The calibration curve was linear over the concentration range of 1.0-14.0 μgm1-1 for these methods. The fifth method depends on reversed phase high performance liquid chromatographic method (RP-HPLC) that was successful in the resolution of linezolid and its alkaline induced degradate using ZORBAX- C18 column and a mobile phase of KH2PO4 buffer adjusted at pH 3.0 : methanol: acetonitrile in the ratio of 60:20:20 (v/v/v). A linear response (r2=0.9998) was observed over the range of 2.0-24.0 μgm1-1. The retention times of linezolid and its degradate were 2.973±0.008 & 1.464±0.118 respectively. All methods were successfully applied to the commercial pharmaceutical preparation without interference from common ingredients accompanying the drug

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its Role in Sustainable Development : Case Studies and Lessons Learned
CSR is a multidisciplinary concept that defines the new responsibilities of businesses in societies. It is the manifestation of the implicit contract between businesses and societies that entails that there is a mutual benefit between them. The debate on the responsibilities of businesses towards societies has existed since businesses existed. However, it gained momentum in the 20th century with the emergence of large businesses with unsuitable practices towards the people and the environment. Hence, several civil movements appeared to face those businesses and demand the rights for the people and the society, meanwhile, scholars started to develop a formal conceptualization of CSR.
Although the responsibilities of the firm are still debatable and unspecified, there is a general consensus that those responsibilities encompass that businesses achieve profits while obeying the law. CSR demands more, as it looks beyond the economic and legal responsibilities towards the ethical and discretionary responsibilities of businesses; it questions how businesses impact their stakeholders both internal and external while giving back to the society.
According to the sustainable development approach in explaining CSR, CSR is a tool for achieving sustainable development; different schools explain how governments as regulators and facilitators, the civil society as a watcher and helper can help businesses partake in fulfilling societies’ needs. Businesses themselves have an interest in participating in development. Accordingly, the role of governments, civil society, and businesses in promoting CSR as a tool for development is inevitable. Businesses especially MNCs are aware that they need social acceptance in order to operate, large MNCs spend years to build their brands and market it all over the world, this brand image and reputation are vulnerable, and hence, businesses cannot afford to jeopardize them by practices that societies deem as irresponsible. This realization by businesses led them to start factoring in society’s views and opinions as an important factor in their decision making process. Nowadays, businesses know that consumers are aware of everything related to their products from production to retail and when they take a decision to consume; this decision contains an ethical part that will not accept any irresponsible act by the company. A QoS – based framework for Efficient Web Servers
This research work contributes to research aiming to improve the QoS of commercial web servers. The QoS is defined in terms of server throughput and service time as perceived by users. The work is a two-part approach. The first part is concerned with
load balancing of web traffic, while the second tackles admission control for the server itself. The contribution is as follows: we elaborated the session-based admission control by introducing the server cluster utilization as an internal control parameter for the number of accepted sessions, besides the traffic burstiness as an external parameter and studying in detail the variability of the number of the completed sessions with system parameters.
We could prove the usefulness of the emerging trend of combining load balancing with admission control for commercial web servers. For load balancing we used content-aware load dispatching policy: Distributed Workload-Aware Request Distribution (DWARD) and for admission control we have used adaptive time slot scheduling predictive session based admission control, where the length of the execution intervals of the algorithm depend on the burstiness arriving to the system. Via a simulation model, we could show that a web server cluster augmented with load balancing and session-based admission
