    Smart Obstacle Avoidance Wheelchair

    No full text
Many people with disabilities find it difficult or impossible to use powered wheelchair independently. Obstacle avoidance wheelchair is a very good solution to help handicapped people who are unable to operate classical electrical wheelchair by themselves in their daily activities. Our project‘s aim is to develop obstacle avoidance powered wheelchair which is intelligent enough to avoid obstacles, help and provide mobility to handicapped people who find it difficult or impossible to use a manual wheelchair. The implemented wheelchair accepts two forms of inputs which are microphone and joystick. It also uses sensors like ultrasonic and infrared sensors to detect obstacles. The controller used is Arduino mega to send and receive signals to/from the components and raspberry pi to connect the input devices to it. By using DC motor as an actuator to convert electrical power into mechanical motion. Upon testing, the wheelchair was found to meet the designed behavior, so a real progress toward better treatment and better outcomes provide the handicapped users with some level of independence and safety by avoiding obstacles without placing the person or others at unreasonable risk.Supervised By Dr. Mohamed Badra

Effect of Nigella Sativa on the integrity of parotid salivary gland of albino rats and its activity for insulin and glucagon

    No full text
This study investigated the effect of Nigella Sativa (N.sativa) on the histological features of parotid salivary glands of aging albino rats and its role on the activity of the glands for secretion of insulin- and glucagon- like peptides. Forty five male albino rats aged ten months were kept on the laboratory diet over a period of two months. Then, they were divided into three equal groups; young control (sacrificed at the end of the two months), old control (sacrificed three months later) and the experimental group (supplemented with N. sativa in a daily dose of 300mg/200gm body weight over a period of three months and then sacrificed). The parotid glands were then dissected out and subjected to histological and immunohistochemical investigations. The results showed only minimal amount of fibrosis and inflammatory cell infiltration in the N. sativa supplemented group. There were no distinctive changes in the architecture of the glands compared to that of young control. They did not show the prominent extensive features of aging manifested in the old aged control group. Moreover, the N. sativa supplemented group showed obvious increase in immunohistochemical reactivities for insulin and glucagon in the glandular tissue when compared to the rats of old control. Finally it could be concluded that N.sativa has got a cytoprotective effect against the degenerative changes of age and a beneficial role on the integrity of parotid salivary glands of aged rat. Also, N. sativa has been shown to increase the activity of parenchymal cells of rat parotid gland for insulin and glucagon that was markedly diminished with advance of age. [Samia M. Kamal; Radwa T. The social economic inequality and the effect of health care system Case study (India 2018)

    No full text
Social and economic inequality is detrimental to the health of any society. Especially when the society is diverse, multicultural, overpopulated and undergoing rapid but unequal economic growth. to review the effects of growing socio-economic inequality in Indian population and its effect on the healthcare system It tries to identify the factors responsible for the difficulties in healthcare delivery in an unequal society and its effect on the health of a society. In India, despite improvements in access to health care, inequalities are related to socioeconomic status, geography, and gender, and are compounded by high out-of-pocket expenditures, with more than three-quarters of the increasing financial burden of health care being met by households. Health-care expenditures exacerbate poverty, with about 39 million additional people falling into poverty every year as a result of such expenditures. We identify key challenges for the achievement of equity in service provision, and equity in financing and financial risk protection in India. Health Care Problems is dedicated to gathering information for the same purpose the Orthopaedic surgeon gathers information: to make possible diagnosis and treatment of a problem. Unlike the doctor, however, HealthCareProblems.org does not attempt diagnosis or prescription. That's left to the reader. Health Care Problems does the first part of the surgeon's job, and the effect of the spread diseases in india effect on indianpopulation

This study aims to examine the impact of keeping accounting records on the financial performance (market share, decision making, reduction of operating cost, and productivity) of small enterprises. This paper is based on the primary approach through designing and distributing questionnaire for a sample of financial staff in small enterprises in the Egyptian market. Our questionnaire was designed to examine the impact of keeping accounting records on the financial performance of small enterprises. The results of this study indicate that the perception of the respondents agree that keeping accounting records has a positive impact on the financial performance of small enterprises. While all measures of financial performance are equally important when keeping accounting records, Productivity was ranked the most importantsupervision of: Dr.Tarek El-Shazl

Design and characterization of emulsified spray dried alginate microparticles as a carrier for the dually acting drug roflumilast

    No full text
Roflumilast is a selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase-4 isoenzyme in lung cells. Having psychiatric adverse reactions when administered orally affects negatively the patients' adherence to the drug. This work aimed to prepare emulsified spray dried alginate microparticles for the pulmonary delivery of roflumilast. Sodium alginate was used as microparticle-forming material, isopropyl myristate as an oil, Tween®80 as surfactant and calcium beta-glycerophosphate as cross-linking agent to enhance the mechanical properties of the particles. The prepared particles were evaluated for their encapsulation efficiency, particle size and in-vitro release. From the studied carriers, beta-cyclodextrin (CD) was the best regarding giving formulation smaller particle size and more sustained drug release. The inhalation profile of CD-based microparticles was investigated using Anderson cascade impactor. The aerosolization profile of CD-based microparticles suggested their efficiency to deliver the drug deep in the lung. The CD-based microparticles possessed more inhibitory effects on the viability of A549 cells and on the proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-10) compared to the pure drug. Hence, CD-based microparticles could regulate the tumourigenesis besides tumour-associated inflammation. Finally, CD-based microparticles showed more sustained bronchodilatation properties in healthy human volunteers when compared to Ventolin®HFA. CD-based microparticles proved to be a promising carrier for inhaled roflumilast in human

Gender Violence and its impact on Women in Egypt

    No full text
Women tend to face higher rates of violence because discrimination on the basis of gender reduces them among the most powerless members of society. Racial discrimination often results in violence. Women who face discrimination based on both race and gender are thus especially at risk of violence. A lot of people might say that women in Egypt are stopped from pursuing their ambitions because of society’s pressures. However, it’s important to understand that how women perceive their own social roles affects how much they are willing to follow to what society defines those roles to be, which certainly affects women’s lives. Percentage of violated women certainly won’t increase unless, if the women themselves don’t have those ambitions of free participation in all aspects as men in the first place and stand against how society defines their roles (Anderson, 2001). Egypt ranks low in gender equity compared to other countries worldwide. “The 2015 Global Gender Gap Index, which measures disparities between men and women across countries, ranks Egypt at 136 out of 145 countries worldwide. Egyptian men are also more educated than women, with 82 percent of men being literate, compared to 65 percent of women”. Moreover, those in the lower, and even middle classes of Egypt still view males as the primary breadwinners of the family, with working mothers often looked down upon, and single mothers offered very little support. Additionally, girls suffer severe educational disadvantages, with many families in Upper Egypt choosing to withdraw their daughters from school after they hit puberty, in order to reduce their interaction with males. Not only do women face these issues daily, they also tend to own less property, and gender biases in Egyptian inheritance laws leave women and children at greater risk of poverty (WHO, 2016). This research is going to investigate how gender inequality impacts women’s lives in the economic realm. Although around the world, women often work more than men yet are paid less, this unfortunate sensation is predictably most pronounced across Africa and the Middle East. The research contribution is going to examine how women and children are usually the ones who suffer the most poverty, despite the fact that they cultivate more than half of all the food that is grown in the region (Heise, 2002)

Overpopulation in India Effect on the Indian Economic Growth since 2010

    No full text
Overpopulation is a growing issue all through the world at this stage in time. Currently, the total population has crossed the six billion mark and is on an exponential way upwards. Overpopulation and population growth puts a massive measure of weight on natural issue which result in a chain response of issues as the country develops. On the macroeconomic level, it is more conceivable to argue that population does undermines a country's economy because an increase in the number of people leads to an increase of the number of mouths to feed. The increase in demand for food leads to a decrease in natural resources, which are required for a country to survive. Other negative effects of populace development and especially, overpopulation incorporate neediness caused by low wage per capita, starvation and malady (Thornton J., 2001) “India is a nation overpowered by poverty essentially caused by overpopulation. Occupied by more than nine hundred billion people, India has a population of three hundred million under the poverty line. A majority of the poor population is unemployed, starving, and is being forced to vend on the streets to earn money. However, the government isn't hinting at any obvious change to decrease poverty among their citizens, through welfare programs or fiscal spending. In principle, more individuals may mean a nation can produce and consume more goods and services leading to economic growth. But this can only occur when employment opportunities grow at least as fast as the labor force and when people have access to the necessary education and training. This is a race that the Indian government is losing. Rapid population growth complicates the task of providing and maintaining the infrastructure, education and health care needed by modern economies
