Structural Synthesis of Single Degree-of-Freedom Planar Mechanisms from Serial Kinematic Chains
Modern design techniques of planar mechanisms depend on kinematic serial chains. Designers may use nR kinematic serial chains with multi degree of freedom to generate all planar mechanisms with single degree of freedom to perform a given task. Then dimensional synthesis is implemented to obtain proper dimensions for the associated mechanism. This thesis is concerned, mainly, with introducing an integrated methodology to generate all planar mechanisms form nR serial chains. The proposed methodology is based on graphical representation and enumeration techniques for structural synthesis. A new graphical structural code 'GSC' is introduced to evaluate resulted graphs. The resulted graphs should be compared with standard kinematic chains of planar mechanisms. A new graph loop code 'GLC' and chain loop code 'CLC' are generated for enumerated graphs and standard kinematic chains respectively to perform a kinematic inspection. A modified reverse transformation algorithm, based on 'GSC', is applied to reproduce linkage diagrams from resulted graphs. This enables designer to choose a proper mechanism and perform required dimensional synthesis. The proposed methodology is applied to 3R serial chain, double 3R serial chain (with 6 revolute joints), 4R serial chain and double 4R serial chain (with 7 revolute joints). Developed methodology can be applied for nR serial chain to obtain all planar mechanism representing this serial chain. So, a complete atlas is introduced, for the first time that contains all possible alternatives to convert multi-degree of freedom serial chains into single-degree of freedom planar mechanisms. For 3R chain, the proposed methodology produces 7 different forms of 6-bar linkages. For double 3R chain (with 6 revolute joints), a new complete atlas for 8-bar mechanisms is introduced for the first time containing 69 graphs. Two, three and four pivots are included in the proposed atlas. For 4R chains, complete atlas for 8-bar mechanisms is introduced for the first time. It consists of 138 mechanisms for both independent and dependent link connections. For double 4R chains (with 7 revolute joints), complete atlas for 10-bar mechanisms is introduced for the first time. It contains 1540 mechanisms for independent and dependent link connections. Two, three, four and five pivots are included in the proposed atlas. For all cases, one standard kinematic chain may be involved into many resulted mechanisms. Therefore; modified atlas for standard kinematic chains is introduced. This atlas contains 2 kinematic chains for 3R planar serial chains. Only 7 chains are available for double 3R serial chains with independent link connections. There are 3 chains to represent mechanically constrained double 3R serial chains with dependent link connections. This modified atlas contains also 11 chains for 4R serial chains with independent link connections. A Computer program 'ASSSPC' is established ,using Visual C++ and Matlab GUI, to implement all procedures of proposed algorithm. Some of resulted mechanisms are simulated using Matlab Simulink toolbox.SUPERVISION OF Dr. Mohamed Nasr Shabara ; Dr. Mostafa Zak

Nonclassical antifolates, part 5. Benzodiazepine analogs as a new class of DHFR inhibitors: Synthesis, antitumor testing and molecular modeling study
A new series of tetrahydro-quinazoline and tetrahydro-1H-dibenzo[b,e][1,4]diazepine analogs were synthesized and tested for their DHFR inhibition and in vitro antitumor activity. Compound 35 showed a remarkable DHFR inhibitory potency (IC50, 0.004 mM) which is twenty fold more active than metho- trexate (MTX). Compounds 17 and 23 proved to be fifteen fold more active than the known antitumor 5- FU, with MG-MID GI50, TGI, and LC50 values of 1.5, 46.8, 93.3 and 1.4, 17.4, 93.3 mM, respectively. Com-
puter modeling studies allowed the identification that methoxy and methyl substituents, the p-system of
the chalcone core, the nitrogen atoms, on the dibenzodiazepine ring as pharmacophoric features essential for activity. These mark points could be used as template model for further future optimization

Programming Language Foundations provides: an even coverage of denotational, operational an axiomatic semantics; extensions to concurrent and non-deterministic versions; operational semantics for untyped lambda calculus; functional programming; type systems; and coverage of emerging topics and modern research directions. Research methods for human resource management / edited by Karin Sanders, Julie A. Cogin, and Hugh T.J. Bainbridge.
Formerly CIP. Ukbusiness bookfair2016Includes bibliographical references and index.161 pages ;"Since the beginning of the century, there have been calls for the integration of traditional individualistic (micro) and management (macro) paradigms in Human Resource Management studies. In order to understand this so-called 'black box,' the HR field needs research which is more sensitive to institutional and cultural contexts, focusing on formal and informal relationships between employees, supervisors and HR managers and the means by which these organizational participants enable and motivate one another. This book presents advanced quantitative and mixed research methods that can be used to analyze integrated macro and micro paradigms within the field of Human Resource Management. Multi actor, social network and longitudinal research practices, among others, are explored. Readers will gain insight into the advantages and disadvantages of different research methods in order to evaluate which type is most suitable to their research. This book is suitable for both advanced researchers and graduate students"-- Provided by publisher
Stem cells in cancer : should we believe or not? / [edited by] Enrique Grande.
pharmacy bookfair2015pages cmThis volume explores the latest developments in a novel area of molecular biology and a hot topic in the field of oncology: cancer stem cells. These chapters from expert contributing authors present concepts such as the universal stem cell, new molecular pathways, new targeted agents, the different roles that cancer stem cells seem to have according to the organ they are placed in, and the future role that targeting cancer stem cells may have in the management of patients in the clinic. Exploring the latest research including new data from randomized trials, this book examines important proposa
