Electrocatalytic water oxidation with bioinspired cubane-type CoII complexes
Synthesis, characterization, and electrocatalytic water oxidation studies of the cubane-type complexes
[(µ3
-L1
O)CoCl(MeOH)]4 (1) and [(µ3
-L2
O)CoCl(MeOH)]4 (2) are herein reported. Cubanes 1 and 2 were
obtained in high yields under mild conditions by self-assembly of the ligands L1
OH = 1-H-2-benzimidazolylmethanol and L2
OH = 1-methyl-2-benzimidazolylmethanol with CoCl2·6H2O in basic methanolic
solution. Both compounds feature a cubane-type structure in which the central {Co4O4} units are built by
four CoII centers coordinated by alkoxide-bridged oxygen and nitrogen atoms from the deprotonated
Ln
OH ligands and stabilized by MeOH molecules and chloride ions. Magnetic studies allowed the determination of g = 2.42 and g = 2.57 values for 1 and 2, respectively. At low temperatures, 1 shows antiferromagnetic behavior, while 2 shows ferromagnetic coupling. DFT analyses support the antiferromagnetic
behavior of 1. Unfortunately, the same method was not effective at explaining the ferromagnetic character
of 2. Such inconsistency was explained through an exhaustive ac-susceptibility study by considering the
single molecular magnet (SMM) behavior of 2. Cyclic voltammetry of 1 and 2 in phosphate buffer solution
(pH = 7.4) displayed catalytic currents at 1.65 and 1.68 V vs. Standard Hydrogen Electrode (SHE), corresponding to water oxidation, with TOF values of 1.04 and 1.99 s−1
, overpotentials of 710 and 680 mV, faradaic efficiencies of 88% and 90%, and TON values of 2.8 and 3.5 for 1 and 2, respectively.
Electrochemical Quartz Microbalance (EQCM) analysis showed the robustness of 1 and 2 since only
around 0.05% of their mass was deposited on the electrode surface. Subsequent SEM-EDX microanalysis
demonstrated that although 1 converts to CoOx during electrolysis, it also changes into an undetermined
form of the original catalyst, containing C, O, and Co. In the case of 2, analysis of the electrode after

Descriptive level of the archaeological evaluation on properties in the province of Trujillo 2025
La evaluación arqueológica de un predio se desarrolla bajo la metodología que establece el Ministerio de Cultura del Perú para la intervención, sin embargo, es necesario complementar con instrumentos y estrategias dicha metodología. El objetivo de la investigación fue describir los niveles tangibles de recopilación de información de una prospección sistemática que se realiza en predios de la provincia de Trujillo 2025. En cuanto a la metodología se desarrolló bajo enfoque cuantitativo, tipo básica, y diseño no experimental. En 06 predios se ejecutaron 45 UE que sirvieron para el diagnóstico, y como resultado del trabajo tenemos que un 86.67% de las unidades de excavación no tiene evidencia de material arqueológico en contexto, por otro lado, un 82.22% de las áreas intervenidas no evidencia presencia de arquitectura prehispánica, mientras 51.11% presenta estratigrafía de capas naturales semicompactas, mientras 31.11% es arenosa, un 13.33% tiene capa compacta y apenas un 4.44% presenta lente de ceniza, así también el 53.33% a nivel de georreferenciación cuenta con una poligonal del terreno. Estos resultados permiten concluir que existe una baja o nula potencialidad de los predios con evidencia arqueológica, así también es necesario incorporar dimensiones tangibles y medibles para un diagnóstico adecuado.The archaeological assessment of a site is carried out according to the methodology established by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture for interventions; however, this methodology must be complemented with instruments and strategies. The objective of the research was to describe the tangible levels of information gathering from a systematic survey conducted on sites in the province of Trujillo 2025. The methodology was developed using a quantitative, basic approach and a non-experimental design. In 06 properties, 45 UE were executed that served for the diagnosis, and as a result of the work we have that 86.67% of the excavation units do not have evidence of archaeological material in context, on the other hand, 82.22% of the areas intervened do not show the presence of pre-Hispanic architecture, while 51.11% present stratigraphy of semi-compact natural layers, while 31.11% is sandy, 13.33% has a compact layer and only 4.44% presents ash lens, as well as 53.33% at the georeferencing level has a polygonal of the terrain. These results allow us to conclude that there is a low or null potentiality of the properties with archaeological evidence, as well as it is necessary to incorporate tangible and measurable dimensions for an adequate diagnosis

Con ese objetivo se diseñó una intervención de educación no formal en el marco de la Noche Europea de los y las Investigadores/as, en la que se presentó al público infantil al Premio Nobel Severo Ochoa. Se describe aquí el diseño de la actividad, cómo se abordaron y solucionaron los problemas surgidos y los resultados y alcance de su implementación. La secuencia de la intervención entrelazó ciencia y arte. Incluyó la lectura de un texto sobre el científico, la contestación de unas preguntas relacionadas, la posibilidad de realizarse una foto con su estatua, y diversos elementos gráficos y noticias relacionadas. Como actividad principal se trabajó de forma cooperativa en la creación de un retrato de más de 3 x 2 metros del científico con tapones de plástico de botellas. El público infantil (y no tan infantil) mostró un gran interés por la propuesta y, consideramos, que el conjunto de actividades propuestas contribuyó a la familiarización y conocimiento del Nobel asturiano, quedando como referente científico en sus mentes.Abstract: It is necessary to incorporate scientific role models in childhood, to facilitate the understanding of scientific activity, awaken vocations, and support the social appropriation of science. With this objective, a non-formal education intervention was designed within the framework of the European Researchers’ Night, in which the Nobel Prize winner Severo Ochoa was introduced to the child audience. This paper describes the design of the activity, how the detected problems were addressed and solved, and the results and impact of its implementation. The intervention sequence intertwined science and art. It included reading a text about the scientist, answering related questions, the opportunity to take a photo with his statue, and various graphic elements and news related to him. The main activity involved cooperative work in creating a portrait of him, measuring over 3 x 2 meters, made from plastic bottle caps. La radio en España ante la Transición Ecosocial: temáticas, puntos de vista narrativos, carencias y retos
Esta investigación propone un mapeo y categorización de la programación radiofónica
española vinculada a la Transición Ecosocial (TE), entendida como un proceso que da cabida a iniciativas y
proyectos de transición hacia sociedades más ecológicas, solidarias, justas, equitativas, inclusivas, diversas
y feministas. El marco teórico propone una aproximación a los conceptos de Información-Diagnóstico (ID) e
Información-Antídoto (IA). Esta última forma de comunicación va más allá de la visibilización de los problemas
y la búsqueda de causalidades. Propone alternativas y fomenta la participación activa de la audiencia. El
análisis pretende identificar aquellos programas radiofónicos que ofrecen claves para comprender la
importancia de actuar bajo el foco de los beneficios de adoptar la TE en su multitud de formas y posibilidades.
Mediante el empleo de las metodologías cuantitativa y cualitativa, se analizan 110 programas radiofónicos de
21 emisoras españolas, categorizados según una subdivisión temática. Las hipótesis asumen un compromiso
de la radio con la Transición Ecosocial, así como un predominio del abordaje de contenidos más cercanos al
diagnóstico que al antídoto. Los resultados confirman los presupuestos de partida y muestran que RNE
Radio 5, con 32 programas relacionados con la TE (29,1 %), se sitúa a la cabeza de las emisoras comprometidas
con temáticas propias de Transición Ecosocial. La categoría Calidad de vida ocupa el mayor espacio
programático, frente a la Migración y al colectivo LGBTI+, que acaparan el menor número de programas
especializado
Crossing boundaries: Liminality, space and the racial other in kate chopin’s short fiction
This paper aims to examine the complex interplay between liminality, space and the racial Other in “Mamouche” (1894) and “Nég Créol” (1897), two short stories by Kate Chopin which have received scarce critical attention. Set in antebellum rural Louisiana, “Mamouche” traces the adoption of a homeless boy of uncertain origins by a wealthy white Creole man, while “Nég Créol,” which takes place in postbellum New Orleans, follows a Creole of color—as black Creoles were known in Louisiana at the time—who grapples with establishing his identity and social role in an emancipated society. The selected short stories will be analyzed through an interdisciplinary approach by means of a theoretical framework that combines concepts such as liminality (Turner 1969; Bhabha 1994), the racial stereotype (Bhabha 1994), the naturalist and historicist racial traditions (Goldberg 2002) as well as different notions related to the concept of spatiality (Soja 1989 and 1996; Goldberg 1994). I will contend that Chopin’s depiction of the racial Other is ambivalent because it reproduces traditional racial stereotypes, yet it also disrupts hegemonic power structures in a subtle way, through the use of liminal characters who embody antistructure, and spatial configurations which reveal an underlying ideological dimension. The results demonstrate that the notions of liminality, space and racial otherness are intricately linked in “Mamouche” and “Nég Créol,” since both liminality and race are spatially bound. Simultaneously, the short stories illustrate how the liminality of the racial Other entails a certain resistance. Nineteenth-century Louisiana was marked by its social stratification and its race-caste system, so the characters’ subtle refusal to accept or reproduce these rigid social and racial divisions may be understood as a form of resistance to dominant power structures.Universidad de Granada. Gypsum stabilization for enhancing the compressive behavior of rammed earth: experimental and statistical assessment
Gypsum has historically been used as an additive in rammed earth construction
to enhance its mechanical properties. However, its application has declined
in modern practice, and scientific literature on gypsum-stabilized rammed
earth remains limited. This study investigates the effectiveness of gypsum as a
stabilizer to improve the compressive behavior of rammed earth, presenting it
as a sustainable alternative to Portland cement, which, despite its widespread
use, entails higher environmental and economic costs. To assess the influence
of gypsum, uniaxial compression tests were performed on rammed earth
specimens with varying gypsum contents (0%–15%). The results demonstrate
significant increases in compressive strength (up to 130%) and elastic modulus
(up to 262%) with gypsum inclusion, with the highest values recorded for the
15% gypsum-stabilized mixture (3.2 MPa and 267 MPa, respectively). Statistical
analysis, including analysis of variance (ANOVA), confirmed the significance
of these enhancements, with only the difference in elastic modulus between
the 10% and 15% mixtures showing no statistical significance. These findings
highlight gypsum as a viable eco-friendly solution for improving the mechanical

Colombian validation of the orgasm rating scale in the contexts of sexual relationships and solitary masturbation
The Orgasm Rating Scale (ORS) evaluates the subjective orgasm experience (SOE), both in the context of sexual relationships and
solitary masturbation. It has been validated in Spain, but to examine the construct in different cultures, this study aimed to analyze
its psychometric properties in the Colombian population. A total of 1 097 adults aged 18 to 62 years (mean 27.92 ± 8.54) responded
to the ORS and the Arizona Sexual Experience Scale in the contexts of sexual relationships and solitary masturbation separately,
during May and October 2024. The four-dimensional structure of the Spanish version is confirmed for both contexts by
confirmatory factor analysis. It showed adequate reliability, with McDonald’s omega values between 0.74 and 0.94. The ORS scores
were significantly correlated between both contexts (r = 0.174 to 0.682), indicating the reciprocity of orgasm between the two
domains. In addition, they were significantly associated with measures of sexual functioning (r = -0.097 to -0.641). Finally, through
Fisher’s ANOVA Bayesian, the results showed that Affective, Sensory and Rewards subscales discriminated between persons with
and without orgasm difficulties in sexual relationships and solitary masturbation, but not Intimacy subscale. In conclusion, the ORS
has adequate psychometric guarantees in the Colombian population to evaluate the subjective orgasm experience in the contexts
of sexual relationships and solitary masturbation from a multidimensional perspective, showing itself as a valuable tool in the field

Mental Health Exploration and Variables Associated with Young Health Professionals in Early Childhood Care Centers: A Systematic Review
Early childhood care (ECC) represents a vital service for the families two supports; however,
research on the experiences of young professionals working in this field is lacking. The
nature of the work is inherently difficult due to lengthy bureaucratic procedures, limited
flexibility to adapt services to individual needs, and a lack of financial and human resources.
Background/Objectives: This systematic review is to analyze the existence of scientific
literature related to mental health and protective and risk factors in these young professionals. Methods: The PRISMA methodology and a comparative analysis of the selected
articles were used, incorporating sources from major scientific databases, such as Scopus,
Web of Science, and PsycInfo. Results: A total of 19,943 articles were identified, with a
striking 0% specifically addressing early childhood intervention. Only 13 of the articles
were selected for the analysis of mental health among young healthcare professionals.
Conclusions: The literature reviewed highlights risk factors such as depression, anxiety,
and stress among health professionals, as well as protective factors like resilience, social
support, empathy and the working conditions themselves (working method, working
hours, pay, professional value of the workers themselves, administrative workload and
opportunities for teamwork). This study is valuable for establishing a scientific foundation

Diagnostic Yield of the New Bárány Society Criteria for Pediatric Episodic Vestibular Syndrome
Background/Objectives: Pediatric episodic vestibular syndrome (EVS) is increasingly
recognized, with recurrent vertigo of childhood (RVC) and vestibular migraine of childhood
(VMC) being the most prevalent disorders. In 2021, the Bárány Society and the International
Headache Society proposed new diagnostic criteria for RVC, VMC, and probable VMC
(pVMC), replacing the older term benign paroxysmal vertigo (BPV). This study aimed
to evaluate the clinical applicability of these new criteria. Methods: We conducted a
cross-sectional study at a pediatric neurotology clinic within a tertiary hospital, including
patients under 18 years with episodic vestibular symptoms evaluated between 2018 and
2025. All patients underwent a standardized neuro-otological assessment. Diagnoses
were assigned using both the 2018 ICHD-3 and the 2021 Bárány criteria. Patients who
did not fulfill any of the three new diagnostic categories, nor met criteria for any other
specific vestibular disorder, were grouped into an undetermined category referred to as
episodic vestibular syndrome without hearing loss (EVSw/oHL). Demographic and clinical
variables were compared across diagnostic groups using non-parametric and chi-squared
tests. Results: Among the 202 children evaluated, 109 met the inclusion criteria and were
classified as RVC (n = 55), VMC (n = 23), pVMC (n = 13), or EVSw/oHL (n = 18). All
patients previously diagnosed with BPV met the new criteria for RVC. Application of
the Bárány criteria significantly reduced the proportion of unclassified EVS cases (from
35.78% to 16.51%). Significant clinical differences were observed among the groups in
terms of episode duration, presence of vomiting, migraine and headache, and family
history of migraine. Conclusions: The new Bárány criteria provide a more inclusive and
clinically meaningful framework for classifying pediatric EVS. They improve diagnostic
clarity, reduce the proportion of unclassifiable cases, and support earlier and more tailored
management strategies
