    No full text
This study explores how teacher training can transition towards a more experience-centered epistemological approach, seeking to overcome the disconnection between academic theory and real educational practices. From a descriptive and interpretative perspective, this phenomenological and hermeneutic research examines the use of narrative writing as a formative tool in the initial education of future teachers, especially in the context of the practicum in Chile. Through a thematic analysis of reflective experiences by 45 students, three key dimensions are identified: the importance of the subjective perspective when recalling and deepening experiences, the centrality of the students' presence in the narrative, and the affirmation of a pedagogical vocation in the education of others. Finally, these findings underscore the need to integrate narrative methodologies in teacher training, where reflective writing not only facilitates the formation of practical knowledge but also contributes to the development of a conscious and committed teacher identity.Agencia Nacional de Investigación (Chile) 1123112

This work has been financially supported in part by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and of Civil Service of the Spanish Government through the TSI-063000-2021-28 project, and by the European Union through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan- NextGenerationEU, and by grant PID2022-137329OB-C43 funded by MICIU/AEI/ 10.13039/501100011033 and by ERDF/EU, by the Spanish Ministry of Universities (FPU Grant 21/04225) and by the Spanish Ministry of Universities (FPU Grant 20/02621).Time synchronization is essential for industrial IoT and Industry 4.0/5.0 applications, but achieving high synchronization accuracy in Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN)-5G networks is challenging due to jitter and asymmetric delays. 3GPP TS 23.501 defines three 5G synchronization modes: time-aware system, boundary clock (BC), and transparent clock (TC), where TC offers a promising solution. However, to the best of our knowledge, there is no empirical evaluation of TC in a TSN5G network. This paper empirically evaluates an 5G end-to-end TC in a TSN-5G network, implemented on commercial TSN switches with a single clock. For TC development, we compute the residence time in 5G and recover the clock domain at the slave node. We deploy a TSN-5G testbed with commercial equipment for synchronization evaluation by modifying the Precision Timing Protocol (PTP) message transmission rates. Experimental results show a peak-to-peak synchronization of 500 ns, meeting the industrial requirement of ≤ 1 µs, with minimal synchronization offsets for specific PTP message transmission rates.Spanish Government TSI-063000-2021-28NextGenerationEUMICIU/AEI/ 10.13039/501100011033 PID2022-137329OB-C43ERDF/EUSpanish Ministry of Universities (FPU Grant 21/04225), (FPU Grant 20/02621

    No full text
Music education is a key component of pupils' education and is regulated by the educational institutions with competences in this field. Through legislation, each national education system structures the learning of its citizens, giving rise to the curricula that guide educational practice. In this article, we will address the concept of curriculum in order to then use the comparative method to study the minimum teaching requirements for Music Education in LOMCE and LOMLOE in primary education, analysing their similarities and differences in terms of the presence of the curricular elements of introduction to the area, competences, content, assessment and methodology on the one hand, and the musical components of listening, expression, the language of music, music production, the use of ICT and the promotion of musical culture on the other. The results show an improvement in the presence of the curricular elements and musical components established in the current educational legislation, especially with regard to the field of listening, the language of music and musical production, highlighting as very positive aspects the incorporation of specific competences for Art Education and the establishment of this discipline as compulsory at the primary education stage

By ablucing the body of the newborn in the sacro fonte, the stain of sin was cleansed from his soul while he was welcomed into the community. A rite of Christian initiation that, beyond the religious implications it entailed, marked the social future of the neophyte’s relatives as a consequence of the ties of spiritual kinship that were created. In this article we propose to study the application of the rite and the election of godparents in the city of Ávila throughout the 18th century. Paying attention to anthroponymy and homonymy, to the documented models of sponsorship, to the blood relations existing between spiritual parents and godchildren and to the reasons that gave rise to their choice.Universidad de Valladolid PID2024-159231NB-I0

Differences in Cardiovascular, Biochemical and Nutritional Parameters Between High- and Low-Altitude Winter Sports Athletes

    No full text
Background/Objectives: High-altitude hypoxia may affect ECG readings, but it is unclear whether the “live-low–train-high” approach prevents these changes in winter sports athletes. Methods: This cross-sectional study assessed cardiovascular parameters in 102 winter-sport athletes (mean age 20 ± 4 y; 57% women), divided by training altitude into a high-altitude (HA) group (2500–3300 m, n = 70; skiers/snowboarders) and a low-altitude (LA) group (738 m, n = 32; ice hockey/figure skaters). Mid-season assessments included resting ECG, blood pressure, blood biochemistry, and three 24 h dietary recalls. Results: All ECG parameters were physiological, and no significant differences (p < 0.05) were observed in heart rate, PR interval, or QTc between groups. However, HA group exhibited higher systolic blood pressure and a short QT interval. Lactate was significantly higher in HA (p = 0.028). The HA diet contained more saturated fat (p < 0.001), cholesterol (p = 0.013), magnesium (p = 0.003) and potassium (p = 0.001), whereas LA athletes consumed more glucose (p = 0.024). In HA, total energy expenditure correlated positively (p ≥ 0.05) with QRS (ρ = 0.52) and QT (ρ = 0.56), while heart rate correlated inversely with vitamin D (ρ = −0.59). In LA, QTc showed strong inverse correlations with zinc (ρ = −0.62) and selenium (ρ = −0.85). Conclusions: This finding suggests that intermittent high-altitude training did not alter ECG patterns when nutrient intake was adequate. High lactate level and specific nutrient correlations point to a residual physiological load and a modulatory role of electrolytes, B-vitamins, and vitamin D on cardiac repolarisation.High Council for Sports (CSD) - Spanish Ministry of Culture and Sport (Ref. 19/UPB/23)Instituto de Salud Carlos III / CIBEROBN / European Regional Development Fund (CIBEROBN CB12/03/30038

A persistent increase in gut permeability correlates with emotional dysregulation following maternal separation in male and female mice

    No full text
Early life stress (ELS) significantly influences vulnerability to psychiatric disorders in adulthood. A widely used preclinical model for studying ELS is maternal separation with early weaning (MSEW), which mimics early-life neglect. This study evaluated the impact of ELS induced by MSEW on emotional behaviour, intestinal permeability, and neuroinflammatory markers in male and female mice. Our results show that MSEW increases anxietylike behaviours in adulthood, particularly in females, and exacerbates depression-like behaviours and anhedonia in both sexes. Notably, increased intestinal permeability correlated with higher anxiety and depression-like responses, suggesting a crucial role of gut health in emotional regulation. These alterations were long-lasting, indicating persistent effects on gut function following ELS. Additionally, MSEW animals exhibited higher hippocampal BDNF expression, particularly males. However, there were no significant differences in the long-term survival of adult-born hippocampal cells, as indicated by BrdU+ labelling. Both sexes showed increased NF-κB protein levels; however, only MSEW males exhibited TNF-α changes, suggesting a sex-specific regulatory mechanism in response to chronic stress. This study highlights intestinal permeability as a key mechanism linking ELS to emotional and behavioural dysregulation. By demonstrating a long-lasting increase in intestinal permeability and its correlation with mood disorders, our findings extend the gut-brain axis hypothesis to ELS. The inclusion of both sexes provides a more comprehensive understanding of sex-specific effects of early stress, often overlooked in previous research.MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 (PID2020–114374RB-I00)Universidad de Málaga (B1–2022_05)Universidad de Málaga / CBUA (Open access)Secretaría General de Universidades, Investigación y Tecnología–Junta de Andalucía (POSTDOC21_00365)Instituto de Salud Carlos III (CD24/00041)Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (FPU22/ 02044

The Effects of Cardiopulmonary Fitness on Executive Functioning or Academic Performance in Students from Early Childhood to Adolescence? A Systematic Review

    No full text
Background: Cardiovascular fitness has been proposed as a key factor influencing executive functioning and academic performance during childhood and adolescence. However, the extent and consistency of this relationship remain unclear across diverse populations and educational contexts. This systematic review aimed to evaluate whether cardiovascular fitness, particularly measured through VO2max, is consistently associated with improvements in executive function and academic performance among students from early childhood to adolescence. Methods: A systematic search of PubMed, Web of Science, SPORTDiscus, and ProQuest Central was conducted up to 15 November 2022. Studies were included if they examined correlations between VO2max and cognitive or academic outcomes in students from preschool to high school. Methodological quality was assessed using the MINORS checklist. Results: Out of 271 identified studies, 12 met all inclusion criteria. Evidence suggests that higher VO2max is generally associated with improved executive function domains such as attention, working memory, and inhibitory control, as well as academic performance indicators including mathematics and reading scores. Neurophysiological studies also indicate links between cardiovascular fitness and brain structure/function. However, the strength and specificity of these associations vary across studies due to methodological differences, limited sample diversity, and inconsistent control for confounders. Conclusions: Cardiovascular fitness appears to have a positive, albeit complex, relationship with cognitive function and academic performance in youth. Future research should adopt longitudinal and experimental designs to clarify causal pathways and consider moderating factors such as sex, age, and psychosocial variables

Complexity and Variability in the Translation of Literature into Easy Language

    No full text
Easy Language (EL) is experiencing increasing academic and scientific international attention within the field of accessible translation. EL, primarily aimed at people with reading comprehension difficulties, proliferates now across all genres and themes, from legal to cultural heritage and literary texts. The rising number of materials translated to EL with the help of different guidelines (in Spain, AENOR 2018; IFLA 2012; Inclusion Europe 2009), as well as of scientific publications presenting their state of the art (Lindholm y Vanhatalo 2021; Maaß 2020), increasingly highlights a trend towards subjective interpretation of the norms, which in turn leads to heterogeneous translations. Despite recent advances, empirical validation of simplification guidelines and individualized study of users’ needs (Toribio Camuñas y Jiménez Hurtado 2022) are still lacking, and there are few initiatives aimed at creating an epistemological definition of EL and describing its translation process. This article presents the results of a case study of several excerpts from the literary classics Don Quixote and The Little Prince in Easy Spanish, in their versions translated according to different standards and guidelines (de Cervantes Saavedra 1605/2015; de Cervantes Saavedra 1605/2019; de Saint-Exupéry 1943/2018; de Saint-Exupéry 1943/2019). The data obtained support the initial hypothesis and reflect the deep heterogeneity of the target texts, produced by the shortcomings of the guidelines, while also highlighting the challenges posed by the translation of the literary genre to Easy Spanish. These results, in turn, point to the need to move towards empirical and descriptive research that aspires to create translations which, while allowing for the enjoyment of reading, maintain a certain degree of homogeneity, considering that this phenomenon is a parameter of access to knowledge.MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 - FPU20/01379 - FSE (PID2020-118775RB-C21
