Development and modeling of parameter areas of an information system for rehabilitation
No full textThis research presents the results of a comprehensive analysis of the management process and describes the key parameters for the information management system in the field of rehabilitation. This goal is achieved by creating a user-friendly and functional Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, adding a new component—Training and Rehabilitation Management—along with the necessary technical and software tools to manage patient health during rehabilitation. The system includes the collection, storage, and analysis of information about patients, doctors, rehabilitation specialists, trainers, and their interactions. The research primarily focuses on physical exercises essential for rehabilitation processes. Using a simulation modeling system, the task of distributing patient arrivals over a set time period was modeled. It is important for the department to provide assistance quickly and promptly, and the administrator believes that patients should not wait more than five minutes for a rehabilitation consultation. Patients are served on a "first come, first served" basis and are examined by the first available rehabilitation specialist when their turn arrives. The rate of patient arrivals follows a normal distribution, and the treatment time follows an exponential distributio
Oblique Drawing and Empathetic Immersion
No full textViewing a drawing is an active act of reading and immersion, that draws on pre-conceptions, commentary and annotation, cultural knowledges of the viewer as well as of the draftsman, as well as their imaginaries. A bird in a drawing can be understood in many ways, as an occurrence of everyday life or an exotic spectacle. The negotiations between mentor and mentee, parallel those of viewer and draftsman; importantly, active negotiations play out socially between people, as well as in the mind of each viewer and drawer. Things in the drawing and beyond the drawing register and are actively evaluated in the mind and imagination to form what has variously been termed a “spatial construct” (August Schmarsow ), or a “percept” (Rudolf Arnheim ), which is different in the mind of each viewer. Plotinus wrote about an “inner eye”; today we understand that the human mind formulates working hypotheses that are continually updated and refined with new information transmitted from the retina of the eye to the brain

No full textIndoor environmental quality (IEQ) in school buildings has been concerned widely for many years, whilst research into the IEQ issues in higher education (HE) buildings has been overlooked to some extent. This chapter presents an experimental study of the IEQ issues in two typical HE buildings in London using the post-occupancy evaluation (POE) methods. Various aspects of the IEQ have been considered in terms of human comfort in buildings, including indoor air quality, noise level, lighting, occupants’ perception, and so on. IEQ data have been collected using various IEQ meters and data loggers, as well as questionnaire surveys taken by the respondents. The results of the study reveal important findings. In terms of thermal comfort, several spaces were found to exceed the recommended temperature limit of 25°C. The data on indoor air quality indicated that rooms, particularly those with natural ventilation, such as the architectural studio, significantly exceeded the recommended CO2 limit of 1500 ppm. Moreover, the survey feedback collected from the building occupants aligned with the IEQ data, particularly in the area of thermal comfort. The respondents’ feedback provided valuable insights into their experiences and perceptions of the indoor environment, further reinforcing the findings obtained from the objective IEQ measurements. The work also discusses recommendations and possible actions to improve the IEQ in HE buildings
