Grade 10 Students’ Online Learning Readiness and e-Learning Engagement in a Science High School during Pandemic
Get PDFEvery area of the government faced enormous hurdles as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. For the Department of Education, this meant using a different teaching modality to continue the students\u27 education. Online learning, where students and teachers interact virtually and use Google Classroom as the learning management system (LMS), is one of the learning modes used during the pandemic. This study examined how prepared Grade 10 students of Puerto Princesa City National Science High School were for online learning and how engaged they were in it throughout the pandemic. According to the study\u27s findings, the majority of students are prepared for online learning in terms of expectations, preferred methods of learning, and technological aptitude. On the other side, students must develop their capacity for initiative in their own learning and be provided with the necessary hardware and software to support their studies. Additionally, the students\u27 grades indicate proficient to advanced level of e-learning engagement. Results also showed that there is no significant relationship between students’ online learning readiness and students\u27 e-learning engagement in science subject during the pandemic. This implies that regardless of their readiness in online learning, students are capable of handling their tasks and get high grade

Vygotsky divided human psychological function into low-level psychological function as the result of biological evolution and high-level psychological function formed by the development of social culture and history. School Principals’ Reflective Leadership Skills through the Lens of Teachers at Higher Secondary School of Thimphu Thromde
Get PDFThis research aims to determine the reflective leadership level of school principals through the perceptions of teachers in higher secondary schools of Thimphu Thromde. The study used a descriptive quantitative and inferential test method using the random sample of 122 volunteer teachers. Data were collected using a 20-structured reflective leadership scale. According to the research findings, it is understood that teachers consider school principals’ reflective leadership traits to be at a very good level. This finding would contribute empirical evidence of how teachers view their principals’ reflective leadership skills in schools, and it would help principals to further improve their reflective leadership skill

Parental Involvement on Child’s Education at Home during COVID-19 Pandemic
Get PDFAs the COVID-19 pandemic strikes, the Philippine educational system has been interrupted, with regular classrooms being replaced with distance learning. Parents are compelled to act as teachers or tutors in their children\u27s home education. This study aims to find out how parents participate in distance learning at the height of the pandemic. This research used a descriptive-correlational research design. Researcher-made questionnaires were used to collect data from 60 parents chosen through stratified intentional sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Kendall’s Tau B for correlations. Findings revealed that family income and parental educational attainment are related to parental involvement. Parental educational attainment and barriers are quite important. Parental educational attainment and parental involvement with barriers are quite important. Family income with barriers is insignificant. The biggest difficulties that parents found were internet connectivity, lack of devices or gadgets, access to the internet, and difficulty instructing their children at home. It is suggested that the Department of Education adopt and stay current with distance learning education as a supplement to traditional methods of teaching-learning to ensure continuity during difficult times. In every situation, parents must accept the critical role of becoming involved in their child\u27s learning process

Music in the Festival of Vietnamese People (Thanh Hoa) - Issues
Get PDFThe article focuses on studying music in festivals of Vietnamese people in Thanh Hoa. Through the collected material, the authors have synthesized, explored the cultural aspects of the composition and analyzed the music. The result of the research is to find out the meaning of music in contributing to the festival\u27s appearance and to find out the operating rules and basic characteristics of music. From there, several discussions are given to preserve and promote music in the festival to achieve higher efficiency in life. The research results are the judgments about the culture and music constituting the overall festival, including (1) Meaning of festival organization; (2) Space and time of the festival; (3) Musical genres and performances in festivals; (4) Musical characteristics. The study also identifies appropriate research methods, and musical analysis techniques are also the basis for making objective judgments. This research will serve as the basis for the research, conservation, and promotion of folk music in larger and more comprehensive aspect
Teacher Classroom Management Practices in an Inclusive Virtual Setting
Get PDFThe main purpose of this study is to explore the special education teacher’s classroom management strategies engagement in an inclusive virtual setting among the selected teachers in Region VII and one City in Region VIII during remote learning. Five respondents from two regions of Visayas were chosen using convenience and purposive sampling techniques. The researchers of this study used Descriptive Qualitative research design following Colaizzi’s method in thematic analysis. An online interview questionnaire was distributed to the respondents through Google forms and thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. The results indicated that teacher classroom management strategies undeniably played a vital role to maximize students’ engagement in an inclusive virtual classroom. On this basis, it is recommended that teacher classroom management practices should also investigate the variables that limit students\u27 willingness to participate, as well as the importance of the entire class population in students’ engagement. And since our study solely identifies best practices and strategies to maximize student engagement, further study is needed to emphasize assessing teachers’ ICT skills, the parental factors, and appropriate assessment methods to give a greater understanding of the nature of why student engagement is declining in this new mode of learning
