Juvenile Delinquency in India: A Socio-Legal Aspect

    Get PDF
Juvenile delinquency in India is a multidimensional socio-legal issue influenced by poverty, family disintegration, peer pressure, educational deprivation, urbanization, and social marginalization. This research paper examines the phenomenon through an interdisciplinary lens, combining sociological and legal perspectives to analyze the causes, consequences, and institutional responses. The study explores the evolution of juvenile justice laws—from the Juvenile Justice Act, 1986, to the 2000 and 2015 Acts—and assesses the impact of international conventions such as the UNCRC on India’s legal framework. Key institutional mechanisms, including Juvenile Justice Boards, Child Welfare Committees, observation homes, NGOs, and government schemes, are evaluated for their effectiveness in rehabilitation and reintegration. Judicial approaches balancing reformative and punitive measures are examined through landmark Supreme Court judgments. Findings highlight that while legal provisions emphasize rehabilitation, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, procedural delays, and social stigma persist. The paper concludes with policy recommendations to strengthen preventive, corrective, and rehabilitative measures, promoting child welfare and reducing recidivism

Turbulence and conflict are part of the Middle East\u27s history. It\u27s often impossible to say where the present rumbles came from--or why they won’t go away. This is not a single area, but rather a magnificent mosaic that harbors an assortment of cultures, religious traditions, and customs. Here the history spans many thousand years, and so we are unable to describe it as a simple theme but rather as a complex pattern: People from different places with differing religious and cultural beliefs mean an eternal fight that can only exist under heaven. How can one come face to face with the Middle East? The hole that this region is spiraling down can make for a series. To cover the numerous aspects of the Middle East would require far more than several articles. Some key components of conflict in the area that we will look at here to try and make them clear. May carry in abundant hope, we can look at these factors and as they interact with each other both in terms of cause-effect relationships or symptom management for a set visit. At the least, may we keep a few honest records? Hopefully we can create still greater understanding and peace throughout this region

Constructivist Perspective on Developing a Multidimensional Blended Teaching Model Fostering Deep Learning

    Get PDF
To promote high-quality development of higher education, it is imperative to facilitate students’ transition from surface learning to deep learning. Compared with surface learning that focuses on rote memorization, deep learning emphasizes meaningful learning based on understanding and transfer. It involves three progressively advanced cognitive stages of knowing: "learning for understanding," "learning for application," and "learning for innovation," which ultimately enable the internalization, transfer, and creative application of knowledge. How to foster deep learning in students has been an urgent issue of higher education. This study, grounded in constructivist learning theory, explores a multidimensional blended teaching model fostering deep learning. It also develops an evaluation system assessing learning outcomes from the perspectives of ideological, political and moral education, knowledge, and competencies. We conducted an empirical study to test the effectiveness of this multidimensional blended teaching model. Findings will provide theoretical and practical implications for teaching reforms of similar courses
