Chlorophyll Degradation Products in the Water of Uzuncayir Dam Lake (Tunceli-Turkey)”
Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the primary production that forms
the first link of the food chain in Uzun~a)'lr Dam. In addition the phytoplankton and
zooplankton communities were investigated according to depth determine the intense zone.
Methods: The Munzur River (Tunceli) is an important water supply in Turkey and
Uzun~a)'lf Dam is built on Munzur River and has a volume of 308 million hm3 on an area of
13,43 m2.Munzur and Pulumur Rivers and Dam Lake Uzun~a)'lr determined; pre-dam, dam
lake and dam areas later taking into account the ten research stations have been identified.
The surface, 2.5,5,7.5, and 10 m depth were investigated. Chlorophyll-a,b,c, carotenoid and
phaeopigments were analyzed according to Strickland and Parsons 1972; Parsonset al. 1984 ..
Results and Discussion: Currently, a rapidly increasing human population is causing
environmental and water pollution which are the most seriously problems of our age. These
problems have become more severe in Turkey. The need for water rises due to increase,
physicochemical characteristics knew of fresh water are very important so that they could be
used efficiently. Today, dams are being built on our important rivers particularly to gain
energy. After gathering water in the dams, terrestrial and running water environments change
into lacustrine environment step by step. During this period a rapid interaction between
biological systems and ecological systems can be seen.
The water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and Chi values were measured in 10
station and 5 depth point. The values of chi showed clear decline in mid seasons of autumn
and winter Also chi-a and chl-b values were consistent with each other. Chi-a is particularly
rich in surface and bottom water which is an indication of the abundance of phytoplankton
communities. Meanwhile, the lack of a low concentration of carotenoids in the water reflects
the existence of mikrozooplankton
Estimation of the population Size of capoeta umbla (Heckel, 1843) in the Lake Hazar (Elazig) by removal method
Fish populations in smaller aquatic environments are affected by the fishing pressure at a
much faster pace. Often, compensation of this effect either takes a long time or is not
possible at all. For the purposes of establishing fishing regulations in these water
environments, the removal method is able to provide results quickly and almost accurately.
The Lake Hazar, which is the environment of our study, is 8,600 hectares in size, and is a
natural lake where Capoeta umbla species is caught commercially using gill nets. In this
study, stock size of Capoeta umbla in the Lake Hazar (Elazig) was estimated using
removal method. In addition, the power of fishing and the status of fishing yield in the lake
were evaluated. In our research, it was determined that seven commercial fishing boats
caught 25,721 kg of fish in the lake in a fishing season. CPUE was calculated as 1.55 kg
(kg/day/a gill net). As a result of the regression analysis, the amount of stock in the lake
was the estimated to be 37,781 kg (± 14,001 kg). When cumulative catch was formulated
as recommended by Ricker (1975), the population size was estimated to be 38,649 kg (±
15,007 kg). As a result of our study, the use of removal method was found to be
appropriate for small reservoirs with reduced population density due to strong fishing
pressure
Öğretmen Adaylarının Ders Planlarının Teknolojik Pedagojik Alan Bilgisi Açısından Analiz Edilmesi
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Fen Bilgisi Öğretmen Adaylarının asit yağmurları ve ozon tabakasının seyrelmesi konusunda hazırlamış oldukları ders planlarının analiz edilerek, TPAB seviyelerinin belirlenmesidir. Bu çalışma, deneysel olmayan nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modelinde olup betimsel bir niteliktedir (Johnson 2001; Johnson ve Onwuegbuzie, 2004). Çalışmaya, Fırat Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi ilköğretim Bölümü Fen Bilgi Öğretmenliğinde öğrenim gören 54 öğretmen adayı katılmıştır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak Ders Planı Hazırlama Yöntemi (DPHY) kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada; mevcut tanımlar ve kategoriler; Magnusson, Krajcik ve Borko‘nun (1999) PAB modeli doğrultusunda, TPAB‘ın doğasına uygun bir şekilde yeniden düzenlenmiştir. DPHY ile elde edilen verilerin analizinde literatüre dayalı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından yeniden oluşturulan TPAB seviye tanımları kullanılmıştır. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre, asit yağmurları konusunda; TPAB‘ın 4. bileşeninde birçok öğretmen adayının 3. aşama da (Uyarlama) olduğu tespit edilirken, TPAB‘ın 1, 2. ve 3. bileşenlerinde öğretmen adaylarının çoğunun 2. aşama da (Kabul etme) olduğu belirlenmiştir. TPAB‘ın 5. bileşeninde ise öğretmen adaylarının 1.aşama da (Fark etme) yoğunlaştığı tespit edilmiştir. Ozon tabakası konusunda ise TPAB‘ın 1, 2. ve 4. bileşeninde öğretmen adaylarının 2. aşamada (Kabul etme) yoğunlaştığı görülürken, TPAB‘ın 3. ve 5. bileşeninde ise öğretmen adaylarının çoğunlukla 1. aşamada (Fark etme) olduğu belirlenmiştir
Farklı gıdalardan izole edilen laktik asit bakterilerinin endüstriyel ve probiyotik özellikleri
Laktik asit bakterileri, fermente et, süt, sebze, meyve ve tahıl ürünleri endüstrisinde starter ve probiyotik özellikleriyle
büyük önem taşımaktadır. Tüketicilerin doğal ve sağlıklı ürünlere gösterdikleri talep artışı dolayısıyla probiyotik laktik
asit bakteri suşlarıyla üretilen fonksiyonel gıdaların satışında son yıllarda dikkate değer bir gelişme olmuştur. Bu
durum dikkate alınarak farklı gıdalardan izole edilmiş ve muhtemel probiyotik olabilecek 26 izolat, 6 tip izolatı ile
karşılaştırmalı olarak endüstriyel ve probiyotik özellikleri açısından test edilmiştir. İzolatların asit üretim yetenekleri %
laktik asit cinsinden %1.07-2.47 (ortalama %1.81); pH cinsinden de 3.30-4.41 pH (ortalama 3.85 pH) arasında
saptanmıştır. Hidrofobisite değerleri %0-50.82 arasında değişmiştir. L.plantarum ve P.pentosaceus izolatları yüksek
tuz ve safra tuzuna dayanıklılık, 3.5 ve 9.6 pH’da gelişebilme açısından diğerlerinden daha toleranslı bulunmuşlardır.
Gastrik suya, alkole, ağır metallere, antibiyotiklere ve H2O2’ye dayanıklılık, antimikrobiyal aktivite, β-galaktosidaz
aktivitesi ve proteolitik aktivite gösterme açısından starter kültür için aranan değerlere izolatların tamamının yeterli
düzeyde sahip bulunduğu ortaya konulmuştur
First record of f2 hybrid striped bass (morone chrysops ♀ × Morone saxatilis ♂ × morone chrysops ♀ × morone saxatilis ♂) in Kemer Dam Lake
The morphometric and meristic characters of 2 F2 hybrid striped bass (M. chrysops ♀ × M. saxatilis ♂ × M. chrysops ♀ × M. saxatilis ♂) from the family Moronidae are described. Two specimens were caught from Kemer Dam Lake. The body of the F2 hybrid striped bass was elongated, moderately compressed, and scaly. Dorsal surface and sides were silver and black to olive-gray, and the abdomen was white in color. Four or 5 longitudinal broken stripes ran above the lateral line to the caudal fin. The stripes were less visible behind the pectoral fins and below the lateral line. The bodies of the F2 specimens were deeper than 1/4 the fork length. The 2 dorsal fins were separated entirely. The first dorsal fin had 8-9 spines, and the second dorsal fin had a spine and 13-14 soft rays. The caudal fin was slightly forked. The anal fin had 3 spines with 12-14 soft rays. One tooth patch was present on the anterior of the tongue. According to our results, the fish were F2 hybrid striped bass offspring of F1 hybrid striped bass, which can reproduce naturally in Turkey. Morphological criteria showed that the F2 hybrids tended to resemble white bass (M. chrysops)
Ecological risk assessment of heavy metals in surface sediments of northern littoral zone of Lake Cildir, Ardahan, Turkey
In this paper, the heavy metal levels (Cu, Pb,
Zn, Ni, Mn, Fe, As, Cd, Cr, Hg), organic carbon, and
chlorophyll degradation products were studied to prove
their ecological effects in Lake Çıldır, where fossil fuels
are used as an energy source in the studied area for most
of the year, and domestic waste from settlements is
discharged directly into the lake. Sediment samples
were collected from six sites on the northern shore of
Çıldır Lake, Turkey in November 2012. Enrichment (EF)
and contamination factor (CF) values were determined,
and Pollution Load (PLI) and Potential Ecological Risk
(PER) indices were calculated. Average concentrations of
heavy metals in the sediments were, in descending order,
Fe>Mn>Zn>Ni>Cr>Cu>Pb>As>Cd>Hg, respectively.
According to mean values, the source of these
elements may be considered natural due to lack of enrichment
in Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, and Cr in the sediment samples.
Regarding enrichment ofAs, Cd,Mn, and Hg, the highest EF belongs to Hg. PLI and PER values indicate there are
moderate ecological risk in the lake

Teaching and Emotional Labor
The concept of emotional labor is increasingly gaining significance within the human factor-centered educational organizations. This study aims to identify primary school teachers’ remarks regarding emotional labor and also whether those remarks change according to the variables of gender, marital status, field of study, experience and
educational level or not. The study group of the research is composed by 321 teachers randomly selected from the schools located in Elazığ city centre. “Emotional Labor Scale” consisting of 13 questions, the confirmatory factor analysis of which was conducted by Basım and Begenirbaş, has been used as data collection tool following the validity and reliability study. When analyzing each item individually; it is seen that teachers’ remarks are concluded as disagree and neutral regarding the sub-dimension of Superficial Role play, agree for the subdimension of Deeply Role Play and agree and absolutely agree for the sub-dimension of Natural Emotions
A modeling using the maximum growth capacity of Hantzschia amphioxys in the Homa Lagoon
Homa lagoon found in the Izmir bay, Aegean Sea, is important because it is the last lagoon in which
fishing activities are carried out. Hantzschia amphioxys species, on which this study was carried on,
are benthic diatoms and they are isolated from Homa Lagoon. The Monod equation expressing the
nutrient dependency of the growth rates can also be used for carrying capacity (with different
parameter values; chl-a max, Ks

). Temporal changes of the calculated maximum chl-a concentrations
(carrying capacity) was 115 µg chl-a/L by determining the hyperbolical relations between the maximum
biomass levels (biomass carrying capacity) and nutrient concentrations obtained from the
phytoplankton growth graphs
Determination of fisheries method applied to the crayfish (astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz, 1823) population in Keban Dam Lake
Bu çalışma, Keban Baraj Gölü’nde kerevit avcılığında kullanılan tekne ve av araçlarının yapısal özelliklerinin belirlenmesi, ayrıca kullanılan av gücü miktarının ve av veriminin tespit edilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışma, Keban Baraj Gölü’nde kerevit avcılığı yapan 28 adet balıkçıya yönelik anket uygulamasını ve araştırmaları kapsamaktadır. Keban Baraj Gölü’nde 2012 yılı kerevit av sezonunda; Ağın, Çemişgezek, Keban ve Kemaliye olmak üzere 4 bölgede, 28 adet teknenin kerevit avcılığı yaptığı, toplam 45.600 adet kerevit pinteri kullanıldığı ve 16.867 kg kerevit avlandığı tespit edilmiştir. Birim çabaya düşen av miktarı; Ağın Bölgesi için 4,91, Keban Bölgesi için 7,09, Çemişgezek Bölgesi için 6,16, Kemaliye Bölgesi için 2,94, baraj gölünün genelinde ise 5,74 g/pinter/gün olarak bulunmuştur.This study was carried out to determine the structural characteristics of crayfish fisheries boats and equipments used in the Keban Dam Lake as well as the amount of power used for fisheries and fishing efficiency. The study includes the survey application and researches for 28 fishermen engaged with crayfish fisheries in Keban Dam Lake. Crayfish fisheries season of 2012, for four region (Ağın, Çemişgezek, Keban and Kemaliye) has been determined 28 boats made crayfish fisheries, using total of 45,600 crayfish fyke nets and reigned 16,867 kg crayfish in Keban Dam Lake. The amount of catch per unit effort was found to be for the region of Ağın 4.91, for the region of Keban 7.09, for the region of Çemişgezek 6.16 and for the region of Kemaliye 2.94 and all of the dam reservoir is 5.74 g/fyke net/day
