    No full text
It is the nature of life that with advancing age human brain cells are damaged and brain functions degrade, which is manifested by memory loss, lack of concentration, reduced judgement abilities as well as speaking problems and even noticeable changes in personality and behavior. When a number of these symptoms collectively detected in a person, he usually diagnosed with dementia. These people have problems in managing their daily activities and shortly become unable to live by themselves. Ways to prolong the independent life of elderly people have drawn the attention of a large scientific community. In this paper, we present an integrated system design that allows collection, recording and transmission through a cloud application of the data from different sensors placed in a house of a person having dementia. The concept of this work is a part of the so-called Internet of Things (IoT) where information from smart things around us can be evaluated and transmitted over the internet

    No full text
In this study, slinky (the slinky-loop configuration is also known as the coiled loop or spiral loop of flexible plastic pipe)type ground heat exchanger (GHE) was established for a solar-assisted ground source heat pump system. System modelling is performed with the data obtained from the experiment. Artificial neural network (ANN) and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) are used in modelling. The slinky pipes have been laid horizontally and vertically in a ditch. The system coefficient of performance (COPsys) and the heat pump coefficient of performance (COPhp) have been calculated as 2.88 and 3.55, respectively, at horizontal slinky-type GHE, while COPsys and COPhp were calculated as 2.34 and 2.91, respectively, at vertical slinky-type GHE. The obtained results showed that the ANFIS is more successful than that of ANN for forecasting performance of a solar ground source heat pump system

Introduction: The aim of this study is determine some biological properties of Alburnus mossulensis population and this is first study in the Boztepe Recai Kutan Dam Lake. Material and Methods: Fish samples were caught from Boztepe Recai Kutan Dam Lake between February-March-April 2014. The fish samples were collected using the gill nets with mesh sizes between 20 and 50 mm and each net was 50 m in length. Total length and weight of the each fish sample were measured and their ages were determined from the scales. To determine sex of fishes were investigated gonads by opened its abdomen. Condition factor was calculated from CF= (W*100)/L3 equation. The length-weight relationship was determined with Le Cren’s W= a*Lb equation and the age-length relationship was determined with the von Bertalanffy’s Lt =L∞*(1-e -K*(t –t 0 ) ) equation. Results: A total of 84 A. mossulensis samples (35 males and 49 females) were investigated and age distribution of the population were determined between I. and IV. age groups. The mean total length values were determined between 10.37-18.59 cm in males; between 10.64-16.88 cm in females, and the mean weight values were determined between 20.77- 60.15 g in males; between 16.08-60.50 g in females. The equation of total length-weight relationship was found as W= 0.155TL2.576 (r= 0.92) for all individuals. Fish age-total length relationship was found as Lt= 24.82*(1-e -0.216*(t+0.06)) for all individuals. The mean condition factor values were determined between 1.39-1.57 in males; between 1.42-1.36 in females. Discussion: Age distributions, “b” values, condition factor values and VBG parameters calculated in this study were different from other studies. These differences may result from differences of study areas, catching methods, study times and ecological conditions
