    Secure Home Networking method using SDN

    As the number of devices connected to the network in households becomes more and more diverse, cybercriminals are shifting their focus from traditional network devices to IoT devices, which are vulnerable to malware and other attacks due to their insufficient security measures. IoT devices are vulnerable to malware and other attacks. If a device is infiltrated by such an attack, it will be able to freely access other devices in the home network, and the spread of malware will be missed. However, using conventional firewalls and anti-virus software for protection is difficult due to the complexity of the home network itself and the specifications and cost of IoT devices. Therefore, in this research, we propose a system that minimizes the damage caused by attacks by dividing the network segments according to the policies of the devices and users connected to the network in the home network. Specifically, we propose a flexible network configuration by using the concept of SDN, in which the network is centrally managed by a program. From the verification results, we have shown that it is possible to divide the devices connected to the network within the home network and control their communication. In the future, we will need to continue to implement communication outside the home network and isolation of malicious terminals

    DEVELOPMENT OF BLOCKED ROUTE SIGNBOARD DETECTION ALGORITHM FOR AUTONOMOUS MOBILE ROBOT COMBINING OMNIDIRECTIONAL CAMERA AND 3D-LIDAR

    In this paper, we describe the development of an algorithm for detecting blocked route signboard in an autonomous mobile robot using a combination of omnidirectional camera and 3D-LiDAR. The combination of an omnidirectional camera and a 3D-LiDAR enables stable detection of blocked route signboard. Omnidirectional cameras are used to detect specific signboards, such as blocked route signboard, while the 3D-LiDAR is used for detecting the shape of the known signboard dimension by point cloud extraction. The validity of the proposed algorithm was confirmed by detecting blocked route signboard with the same dimensions as those defined in the Tsukuba Challenge rule

    Detecting body movements on the bed is effective for understanding sleep state and detecting rising. A body movement detection device, which is not utilizing a camera nor utilizing sensors attached to body, is proposed in this study. It detects static electricity. As a person moves on a bed, a distribution of electric charge is changed by friction between clothes and sheets. The electrostatic sensor installed in the bed measures the change of electric charge to detect the body movements on the bed and to discriminate sleep state

    We have developing a laser spectroscopy method called OROCHI to study nuclear structure of low production yield atoms with unstable nuclei. In OROCHI, the ion beams generated at an accelerator are stopped in superfluid helium (He II) with high efficiency (~100%). This method enables us to measures Zeeman level to determine the nuclear spins and hyperfine structure level to determine nuclear electromagnetic moments using laser radio wave/microwave double resonance method. We have applied this method to highly energetic ^84Rb beams generated at HIMAC SB2 beamline. I here report the successful detection of laser-induced fluorescence from ^84Rb atoms stopped in He II

    TRANSCRIPTIONAL REGULATION OF THE CHEMORECEPTOR GENES AND FORMATION OF RECEPTOR CLUSTERS IN LATERAL MEMBRANE REGIONS OF ESCHERICHIA COLI CELLS

    In Escherichia coli, the genes encoding chemoreceptors, including Tsr for serine and Tar for aspartate, belong to the flagellar regulon, and their transcription is under the control of the sigma factor FliA. Previous studies identified the pyruvate-responding global transcription factor PdhR binds to the tsr and tar promoters. In this study, I examined how PdhR regulates these promoters using strains expressing Tar and Tsr fused to fluorescent proteins from the native promoters and found that PdhR acts as a positive regulator for both of the promoters. I also intended to unravel cluster formations of the chemoreceptors before they form a huge cluster at a cell pole. Single molecule imaging revealed that the Tar and Tsr form mixed clusters of variable sizes together with low-abundance chemoreceptors in the lateral region of the cytoplasmic membrane

    TRANSCRIPTIONAL INDUCTION AND TRIMER FORMATION OF THE ESCHERICHIA COLI EFFLUX TRANSPORTERS IN RESPONSE TO ENVIRONMENTAL STIMULI

    The resistance-nodulation-cell division (RND) tripartite complexes are the major xenobiotic efflux systems in Escherichia coli. Each consists of an inner membrane transporter, a membrane fusion protein, and the common outer membrane channel TolC. Among five such systems, only the AcrAB-TolC complex exists constitutively, and some other transporter genes, including acrD and mdtBC, is induced by indole via the two-component system BaeSR. This laboratory found that deletion of tolC induces AcrD, but further deletion of the tryptophanase gene tnaA abolishes this induction. Here I constructed a series of chimeric BaeS with other sensor kinases. The results suggest that BaeS senses the increase in the intracellular indole concentration. I also performed single molecule imaging of other transporters MdtBC, encoded in the same operon as baeSR, and found that they form heterodimers preferentially in the presence of substrates

    Asymmetric membranes consisting of a dense skin layer and a supporting layer are often used in hemodiafiltration treatment. In the present study, we prepared pseudo-asymmetric membranes by combining two types of plain membranes with different pore sizes as the dense layer and the supporting layer, so that the position of the dense layer could be controlled. By investigating the filtration characteristics of these membranes, we aimed to clarify the effect of the position of the dense layer on the filtration characteristics of the asymmetric membranes and to obtain knowledge for the design of the membranes

    We have developed the robot “TAOYAKA-S Ⅲ” that mimics the grasping strategy of octopi for the purpose of inspecting infrastructure pipes. The conventional robot “TAOYAKA-S Ⅱ” could climb pipes of various shapes with simple control. However, its movement was restricted by separated the power source, computer for control, and actuators to move the body. To realize self-containment, we redesigned the trunk by both maintaining the rigidity and reducing the weight. In addition, we installed the small servomotors, the batteries, and the microcomputer into the body. Finally, we confirmed that the proposed robot can climb unknown columnar objects and that its mobility performance has been improved

    2019年4月1日に改定文化財保護法が施行されたが、この法改定は1990年代初頭から取り組まれてきた文化財政策の一定の到達点を示すものであった。特にその法改定で導入された「文化財保存活用地域計画」は2000年代初めから日本の文化財政策の中に取り上げられた「エコミュージアム」という発想をベースに取り組まれてきている。そのため本稿ではエコミュージアムについて再定義を試み、文化を享受しその活動に関わることが人びとのウェルビーイングの実現につながるという観点から近年の文化政策での人権に関わる考え方や状況を検証した。さらに2007年以降から策定されてきた歴史文化基本構想や文化財保存活用地域計画の内容を検討して、「エコミュージアム」的な取り組みの考え方が文化財政策の中に取り入れられてきている現状を明らかにした。そして最後に現在取り組まれている文化財政策の課題として、エコミュージアムが社会教育(生涯学習)機関であることを認識しウェルビーイング社会の実現という視点からの文化財政策に転換していくことが求められることを指摘した

    Empirical Analysis of Yield Determinants in Japan’s Municipal Bond Market : Does Credit Risk Premium Exist?

    In this study, we examine the determinants of the yield spread between issuers in Japan’s municipal bond market using panel data and focus on identifying whether credit risk premium exists. The results of the panel data analysis reveal new evidence on the municipal bond market for FY2002-2013. In the first half of the 2000s, the fundamental fiscal statistics, that is, the credit risk indicators, had no impact on the yield spreads, suggesting the absence of credit risk premium. Second, Yūbari City’s insolvency in 2006 led to a structural break, and since that time investors have begun accounting for local governments’ outstanding debt. Third, when important financial events occur, other credit risk indicators also significantly impact the yield spread, suggesting that investors are more aware of credit risk presence during such events. Finally, the findings of this study may provide implications for financial institutions, market participants and regulators
