DEVELOPMENT OF A WEIGHT TRANSFER ANALYSIS SYSTEM FOR FENCING ATHLETES
Fencing is a competitive sport that requires good body balance, concentration, and keen insight. Stable body balance in fencing can be a key in attacking and defending with a sword at a game. This paper describes a new weight transfer analysis system suitable for fencing athletes to analyze the body balance form. We have developed a weight transfer analysis system, which is limited to the basic fente form in fencing and considers the amount of foot and body movement. To confirm the effectiveness of the developed system, we carried out to evaluate experienced and novice players to perform the fencing fente form and analyzed the trajectory of their weight transfer
ANALYSIS OF THE STRUCTURE OF TiO_2 AND ZnS MICRO PARTICULATE GENERATED BY LASER ABLATION IN LIQUID NITROGEN.
A laser processing technology is developing in associate with a development of nanotechnology. Laser ablation in liquid is valuable for generating micro and nano particles. In particular, micro particles generated by laser ablation in superfluid helium have unique functionalities. The aim of this study is generating and analyzing micro particles using laser ablation in liquid N_2 for elucidation of the effect of liquid N_2 on particulate structure. We performed laser ablation to ZnS and TiO_2 in liquid N_2 and observed SEM images of micro particles and measured their sizes. Both Rutile and Anatase TiO_2 particles are spherical, the size of their particles is less than 400nm. In addition, it is suggested that the size of TiO_2 particles is smaller by increasing the laser ablation duration
THE ROLE OF ATP-DEPENDENT PROTEASE CLP IN TRANSITION FROM STATIONARY TO LAG PHASE OF ESCHERICHIA COLI.
Batch culture of E. coli shows typical growth curve, which consist of three phases, lag, logarithmic, and stationary phases. The stationary phase cells, which transferred to fresh medium, start growing again. This ability is thought to optimize proliferation by changing genome functional profile, but the molecular mechanism remains unclear in detail. ATP-dependent protease Clp, which is known as ClpXP and ClpAP in E.coli, controls quality and level of intracellular proteins. In this study, we investigate the involvement of Clp in transition from stationary to lag phase in the fresh medium. First, I evaluated the effect of the Clp on bacterial growth by measurement turbidity of cultures. As a results, the lag phase was extended in the ΔclpAXP. Next, proteome analysis was performed, finding the candidates of Clp-targets that contribute to the start of growth, including several transcription regulation factors. I isolated and analyzed multi-gene disruption strains, resulting that fis gene disruption recovered extension of the lag phase of the ΔclpAXP. These results suggest that Clp-dependent control of Fis level changes genome expression profile for proliferation at lag phase
Yoichi Nakagawaʼs “Golf” : A Comparison of the Original Text (1931) with the Text in the First Book Edition (1934)
Yoichi Nakagawa first published his short story “Golf” in the magazine Bungei Shunju in 1931. In 1934, he published a collection of stories titled Golf, which also included his short story “Golf.” In this paper, the original text published in 1931 is compared with the text that appeared in the first book edition in 1934 and the differences between them are analyzed. For example, the meaning of the change in the name and nationality of the wife of Kuri, one of the main characters in the story, is discussed with reference to the etymology of the names and the images they evoke. A further focus is on the addition of descriptions of the beauty of Kuriʼs mistress in the first book edition. While writing “Golf,” Nakagawa was attempting to embody his idea of beauty in his stories. By comparing the original text in the magazine with the first book edition, it was possible to discover how Nakagawaʼs artistic theory developed during this period
Data Construction and Productivity Analysis on the Medical Device Manufacturing Industry in Japan
Medical devices play an essential role in healthcare. However, statistics on the Japanese medical device industry are insufficient. This study provides statistics for Japan’s medical device manufacturing industry from 1994 to 2016 using the Census of Manufacture (Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry). In addition, this study presents a fundamental analysis of industry, productivity analysis, and inter-industry comparison. As evaluated by labour productivity and total factor productivity, the medical device manufacturing industry (1) is research and development (R&D) intensive, (2) does not have sufficient investment in R&D, and (3) has low productivity. This study concludes that it is essential to improve the accuracy of data in the future and to publish data regularly

Associations between the experience of competing in national championships and the implementation of mental training in university athletes.
