PATTERNING PROCESS FOR FUNCTIONAL ELECTRONIC MATERIALS CONTAINING LIQUID ORGANIC MOLECULES

    Get PDF
We proposed a patterning method for functional electronic materials containing liquid organic molecules. The emission layer composed of liquid organic semiconductor (LOS) was formed on an electrode substrate using a needle dispensing system. We evaluated electroluminescent (EL) performance of liquid OLEDs fabricated by sandwiching LOS thin film between an indium tin oxide and the zinc oxide nanoparticles-coated fluorine-doped tin oxide cathode. As a result, we succeeded in selective patterning of LOS thin film only on 2 mm wide electrode substrate as emission layer. Multi-color EL emissions derived from emission layer were successfully obtained by the fabricated liquid OLED. We expect that the suggested method can open new possibilities for liquid-based light emitting applications

Object detection and tracking aided SLAM in image sequences for dynamic environment.

Object detection in a dynamic environment is important for accurate tracking and mapping in Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM). Dynamic feature points from people or vehicles are the main cause of unreliable SLAM performance. Previous researchers have used varied techniques to solve this problem, such as semantic segmentation, optical flow, and moving consistency check algorithm. In this proposal, Object Detection and Tracking SLAM (ODTS), we define a weighted grid-based attention model for a feature tracking module to track landmarks and objects. ODTS system tracks landmarks, such as buildings in the background, and objects, such as vehicles, in the foreground. For optimizing performance, a robust self-attention module is integrated. For evaluation, the trajectory of the robot is tracked, and the root mean square error (RMSE) is recorded. Additionally, the number of background and foreground feature points were observed for landmarks and objects. ODTS significantly minimizes the tracking lost problem and produces more accurate maps and tracking of feature points

USING 3D FEATURE POINTS IN VIDEO IMAGES RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BASIC EMOTIONS AND FACIAL EXPRESSIONS OF JAPANESE PEPOPLE

With the recent increase in remote meetings and other forms of communication, nonverbal communication that reads the emotions of others through facial expressions and gestures is becoming increasingly important. It is generally accepted that emotions and facial expressions are related, but most of the research has focused on Western human facial expressions. We measure and analyze data based on the assumption that emotions and facial expressions defined by Japanese people cannot be mapped. Test data for facial expressions are recorded as moving images of the subject\u27s specific emotional expressions using MediaPipe, which can capture 3D feature points. The correlation between basic emotions and facial expressions was analyzed by detecting change points based on the recorded 3D feature points

EVALUATION OF DIELECTRIC FILM THICKNESS USING ELECTRO-OPTIC SENSOR SYSTEM

This paper describes an evaluation method for the thickness of a dielectric film by integrating the electric field distribution in the electro-optic crystal using electromagnetic field simulation. The estimation results obtained from this method agree with the characteristics of the parallel-plate capacitance model, thus confirming that our method could evaluate the thickness of a dielectric film with a precision of 10 μm using an EO sensor system

Architectural innovation in science-based industry : How a manufacturer can manage suppliers by outsourcing all components

    Get PDF
In the semiconductor industry, photolithography equipment is used to expose patterns on wafers to be manufactured into semiconductor chips. This equipment consists of extremely complex, large-scale industrial machines containing many high-technology components. The Dutch company, ASML, entered the market later than other such companies, but managed to take over Nikon\u27s dominant position by outsourcing all components. ASML achieved an architectural innovation by prioritizing system design and fine-tuning components. We confirmed that the Mirroring Hypothesis was partially supported, because mirroring was observed between the technical architecture of the system and the division of labor, but not between the divisions of labor and knowledge

Water quality characteristics of Japanese rivers judging from the results of the “National Simultaneous Survey of Familiar Water Environments” (2) : Focusing on survey results by municipality and cases in Hokkaido

    Get PDF
The water quality of rivers in Japan deteriorated significantly during the period of rapid economic growth in the 1950s and 1960s. As already reported (Kodera, 2022), there are still many areas with problems regarding the water environment in familiar areas. In my previous article, I compared the results of the "Survey of the Water Environment in Public Water Areas" conducted by a public institution and the "National Survey of Local Water Environments" conducted mainly by citizens\u27 groups, and compared long-term changes in river water quality in Japan. Although we have focused on the characteristics by prefecture, this paper presents more detailed characteristics based on the data classified by municipality. In particular, we advanced concrete discussions on the Hokkaido region and indicated the direction of future research

Characteristics of Chinese Cities Based on the Location of Corporate Headquarters : Analysis based on “China’s Top 500 Companies”

This study examines the relationship between the location of companies’ headquarters and Chinese cities since the beginning of the 2000s, by analyzing data from the "China’s Top 500 Companies". First, I analyzed the structure of the three types of firms in China, which are the state-owned companies, the private companies, and the foreign companies. Then, I reviewed the overall changes in the companies ranked in the top 500 Chinese enterprises from 2001 to 2019. From this analysis it becomes clear the role of state-owned companies, private companies, and foreign companies in Chinese economy. Finally, I analyzed the relationship between the location of a company’s headquarters, sales, number of employees, and type of business and city through data from 2001, 2010, and 2019. This revealed Beijing’s strong ability to attract continuously the headquarters of companies in the "Top 500 Chinese Companies" to locate their headquarters over the past 20 years, while Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou have not been able to match the national capital’s strength
