Conparison of physical fitness results corresponding to online and face-to-face classes.

In this study, we compare the results of physical fitness measurements corresponding to online and face-to-face classes. This study included 382 male and female students who took the authorʼ s classes taught. We used Google Forms, a questionnaire creation and management software and measured eight simple physical fitness items twice at the beginning (Pre) and end (Post) of the spring semester. And we measured five physical fitness items in face-to-face classes. We compare Pre and Post and examined the relevance of online and face-to-face classes. Most of the eight items showed significant increases in Post compared to Pre. For the same items, there was a positive correlation between online and face-to-face. The results suggest that online physical fitness measurements could be used as a teaching tool for online classes

Effect of the polymer adsorption behavior on the control of flow characteristics and particle packing structure in aqueous slurry.

In slurry-based material manufacturing processes, product characteristics are often affected by the dispersion and agglomeration states of particles. Therefore, controlling these characteristics is necessary. One method for controlling particle dispersion is polymer addition, which is used in lithium-ion batteries, ceramics manufacturing, cosmetics, water treatment, and a variety of other industries. The mechanisms underlying the changes in the dispersion and aggregation states of particles in a slurry with added polymers are as follows: steric hindrance, cross-linking between the particles through polymers, electrostatic repulsion in the presence of polymers with electric potentials (caused by the adsorption of polymers on particle surfaces), and depletion forces (caused by the addition of unabsorbed polymers). Despite extensive research into these mechanisms, controlling the dispersion and agglomeration of particles is not easy, even in modern industry. In this study, we elucidated the polymer adsorption behavior on particle surfaces in aqueous slurries to provide guidelines for controlling the dispersion and aggregation of particles in slurries, the flow properties that are important in the manufacturing process, and the particle packing structures that affect product properties. By elucidating the changes in adsorption and particle dispersion state mechanisms and focusing on the differences in the hydrophilicity of particles and polymers, the mechanism underlying slurry changes over time, and the relationship between adsorption and particle dispersion state with the addition of multiple polymers, guidelines for slurry preparation were developed.Based on these considerations, we suggest that controlling the affinity of particles and polymers for water molecules, interaction between additives, mixing sequences, and the adsorption time, in addition to considering the conventional theory, is necessary to control the dispersion/aggregation states, flow properties, and packing structures of particles in aqueous slurries. To establish a generalized theory that can control particle dispersion in slurries and can be applied to a wide range of industries, continually investigating the relationship between the polymer adsorption mechanism and the dispersion/aggregation states of particles under a wide range of experimental conditions is important.博士(理工学)法政大学 (Hosei University
