Model Compression and Transfer Learning Based on Analysis of Pre-trained Parameters

    Get PDF
In deep learning, huge models with a large number of parameters tend to perform better. However, the huge models need large amount of memory and a lot of time to train. Although model compression techniques have been studied to solve this problem, no method has been proposed to analyze the parameters and inherit their characteristics to my knowledge. Therefore, we propose another model compression method to extract representative parameters and integrate others into them. We note that trained parameters are unevenly distributed and form clusters in the parameter space. We apply K-means clustering to extract parameters which are representative in each cluster. In addition, to reduce the change in output after model compression, we adjust the weights to the later layers using the property that ReLU activation function is piecewise linear. Our proposed method makes it possible to compress models while maintaining their performance. Some experiments show that our method is effective in same input data on simple classification tasks. Furthermore, our method is effective in some model structures against changes in the distribution of input data in transfer learning

In recent years, motors have been used in many fields, such as automobiles and ships. Motors are required higher output torque and efficiency. This paper proposes simultaneous 9-phase control method for multi-coil motors using digital direct drive technology, in which all phases are controlled together in a non-multiplexed multiphase method, in order to increase the maximum torque and reduce the d-axis current to achieve higher efficiency. The proposed method is verified by simulation using MATLAB / simulink

EVACUATION SUPPORT SYSTEM TO CONTROL THE EMOTIONAL LEVEL OF A CROWD : Verification using various conditions with individual differences

Generally speaking, when we face disasters, we will take the same actions as the surrounding environment. This psychological phenomenon is called " Majority synching bias" and is the main reason for delayed escape. In our previous work, we proposed a system that uses robots to express emotional behaviors to control the emotional level of people. In this study, we use various synchronization models including individual differences to simulate and prove the effectiveness of the proposed control system

    Get PDF
In this paper, a multi-layer reservoir neural network is designed using an asynchronous cellular automaton neuron model. Furthermore, a learning method of the network based on the simulated annealing is proposed. It is shown that the network with reservoir layers can classify a set of several EEG. In addition, the classification performance of networks with various configurations were compared, and it is shown the best performing network is a two-layer reservoir neural network

    Get PDF
Two types of ergodic cellular automaton models of tumor immune are presented in this paper. These two cellular automaton models can reproduce the bifurcation structure of mathematical tumor immune model properly. It was found that the proposed models can be implemented more hardware-efficient than the mathematical model. Additionally, it was also revealed that theoretical analysis can derive the values of bifurcation diagram produced in the steady state of the tumor immune model

DEVELOPMENT OF CESIUM ATOM SUPPLY SYSTEM IN LIQUID NITROGEN FOR PRESSURE-DEPENDENT MEASUREMENT OF HYPERFINE STRUCTURE SPLITTING OF ATOMS IN SUPERFLUID HELIUM

    Get PDF
It is known that hyperfine structure energy splitting of atoms in superfluid helium (He II) is slightly different from that in vacuum. We have been developing a variable pressure vessel for laser RF/MW double resonance spectroscopy of Rb and Cs atoms in He II in order to measure the hyperfine structure splitting energy at different pressures and to clarify the effect of pressure on the interaction of atoms with He II.This study aims to develop a Cs atoms supply system in a variable pressure vessel for measurement of hyperfine structure splitting of cesium atoms in He II at various pressures ; however, as a pilot experiment, liquid nitrogen was used instead of He II in this study. First, the operation of laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) detection system using a photon counting method with a photomultiplier tube (PMT) was verified in a gas cell filled with Cs atoms. In an experiment using the ablation method to supply cesium atoms into a pressure-variable vessel filled with liquid nitrogen, emission from cesium atoms was confirmed. This result suggests that Cs atoms were supplied in a variable pressure vessel filled with liquid nitrogen

This study aimed to compare the famous places mentioned in the representative Meisho Zue (illustrated books about famous places)and guidebooks of Tokyo as well as their distribution trends, clarify the differences between historical sources, and discuss people’s experiences of famous places in modern Tokyo. This study analyzed and discussed the relationship between people’s experiences of famous places in Tokyo and the regional characteristics of Tokyo from three perspectives: (1) Tokyo’s administrative divisions, (2) topographical characteristics of the Yamanote (Tokyo’s upper areas) and Shitamachi (Tokyo’s downtown areas), and (3) the development and improvement of the modern transportation network. The results show that people’s experiences of famous places in modern Tokyo developed more deeply through the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods. Moreover, they diversified not only in terms of the modernization of the sceneries of famous places but also as experiences of famous places

Determinants of reverse migrant intentions for hometowns of metropolitan residents

    Get PDF
研究の概要(英文):The purpose of this study is to explore the determinants of reverse migrant intentions to their hometowns for residents of large cities. To decrease the population concentration in Tokyo and revitalize the region, it is required, both academically and in terms of policy, to elucidate the reverse migrant intention and its determinants for local residents. Multivariate analyses were conducted in this study, using the individual data of the questionnaire survey for residents of the Tokyo Special Wards and all ordinance-designated cities of Japan, regarding the reverse migrant intentions of individuals whose current place of residence and place of origin were different. The analysis revealed that 36% of the respondents had a reverse migrant intention, implying that not a few people had an intention to return to their hometown in the future. The younger the respondents, the stronger the intention. In addition, the degree of attachment both to the place of origin and current place of residence, poor living environment of the current place of residence, and values emphasizing marriage and best friends, stipulated an individual\u27s reverse migrant intention. Among these, the effects of the attachment on reverse migrant intention was strong. The analysis of the results suggests the following three points. First, the main target of reverse migrant policies of local governments should be the younger generation. Second, given the strong effect of attachment to the place of origin, the efforts of the local governments to foster love for the place of origin may be effective in increasing the number of people returning. Third, appealing to the target person about their life in their hometown and their connection with friends might be key points in the reverse migration policy

Analysis of the current situation for regional revitalization in Tokushima City : Focusing on the trends of residents of condominiums with fixed-term leasehold rights

研究の概要(英文):It has been a long time since it was pointed out that the concentration was concentrated in urban areas such as the metropolitan area. The population of Tokushima City, which is the prefectural capital of Tokushima Prefecture, is decreasing year by year, and vacant tenants are conspicuous in the arcade area in the center of the city, and the flow of people is sparse. There are reports on regional revitalization by various methods, but in this study, focusing on people when discussing regional revitalization. It is selfevident that in most local cities, population and population data are less than in urban areas. Therefore, focused on the trend of residents of condominiums with fixed-term leasehold rights (fixed-rent condominiums), which can be said to be a new option in local cities with a strong tendency toward detached houses. In Tokushima City, where the population is declining, there are no vacant properties in the condominiums surveyed, and not only buying and selling but also inheritance was seen. This is because fixed-rent condominiums capture the needs of housing and assets in local cities, and it is possible to maintain the permanent population by appropriately deploying fixed-rent condominiums that are suitable for residents
