No full text本研究では，スマートデバイスのセンサを用い，休憩の指標を導入した複数人で使用する観光支援システムを提案する．本システムは，使用者の身体状況を，心拍数，位置情報，歩行数，標高から判断する．使用者1人だけではなく，相手の身体状況も共有し，把握できる．使用者が疲労していると判断した際に，使用者に身体的な疲労を意識させ通知し，休憩することを促す休憩奨励機能を持つシステムである．また，慣れない観光地での休憩場所を使用者に分かりやすくするように，休憩場所を表示する機能を持つシステムである．提案システムを用いて評価実験を行い，ランダムに通知をする実験と比較した結果，以下のことが分かった．(1)通知の時点での休憩場所が写真付きで表示されていることの評価が高かった．(2)心拍の上昇による通知は平均6.3回であった．同じ条件で行った以前の実験よりも回数が増えていて，通知が多すぎると指摘された．(3)歩行数による通知の評価は低かった．これは，休憩直後に，歩行数による通知が届くなど，休憩を考えずに歩行数だけで通知を出した結果だと考えられる．(4)標高による通知に関しては，適切なタイミングで通知されて評価が高く，ランダムに通知する場合と比較して有意差があった．(5)身体情報の把握に関しては，通知により相手の状態や自分の状態を知ったことと，常時，自分と相手の心拍と歩行数が見られることで，非常に高い評価（4.3/5.0から4.6/5.0）であった．In this study, we proposed and developed a tourism support system for multiple people that introduced a break index using a smart device sensor. This system judges the physical condition of the user from heart rate, position information, walking rate, and altitude. The system can share and grasp physical condition not only one user but also the companion. It is a system with a break encouragement function that makes the user aware of physical fatigue and notifies them when they judge that they are tired, and encourages them to take a break. In addition, the system also has a function to display the resting place so that the user can easily understand the resting place in an unfamiliar tourist spot. As a result of conducting an evaluation experiment using the proposed system and comparing it with an experiment in which notifications were given at random, the following was found. (1) It was highly evaluated that the resting place at the time of notification was displayed with a photo. (2) The average number of notifications due to increased heart rate was 6.3 times. It was pointed out that the number of times was increased compared to the previous experiment conducted under the same conditions, and there were too many notifications. (3) The evaluation of the notification based on the number of walks was low. This is thought to be the result of issuing a notification based only on the number of walks without considering the break, such as receiving a notification based on the number of walks immediately after the break. (4) Regarding the notification by altitude, the notification was made at an appropriate timing and the evaluation was high, and there was a significant difference compared to the case of random notification. (5) Regarding the grasp of physical information, it is highly evaluated (4.3/5.0 to 4.6/5.0) because it knows the companion's condition and one's condition by notification, and the heart rate and walking rate of oneself and the companion can be seen at all times

Benefits and challenges of online overseas programs : the case of global learning activity at faculty of tourism, Wakayama University
Get PDFThe Global Learning Activity (GLA) of the Faculty of Tourism at Wakayama University has sent 100 students abroad since 2016 to participate in language and cultural training programs offered by universities in the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. However, in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the GLA adopted online programs. The purpose of this paper is to examine the benefits and challenges of online GLA in comparison to face-to-face GLA, based on student survey responses. Authors analyze that online GLA provides students with more learning opportunities economically and is considered to be as effective as face-to-face programs in terms of English learning. Furthermore, online learning programs allow students to focus more on their classes without the burden of environmental changes. On the other hand, since students do not need to use English outside of the classes, it is considered necessary to have them work with native speakers continuously in real time
