Understanding project-specific software evolution is essential for managing various software development projects. An exploratory approach to open source software (OSS) repository analysis using time-delayed correlation analysis (DCA), an extension of correlation analysis that considers a time delay between any pair of metrics, is reported previously. In this paper, we propose heuristic-based filtering using the coefficients of DCA and visualization of time-series metric values with the most explainable periods for effective and efficient inspection of DCA result. In addition, we conduct case studies using an OSS repository and an industrial embedded product software repository. As a result, we show that the proposed approach contributes to effective repository analysis using DCA

Twitter, a microblogging service, transmits not only correct information, but also sometimes transmits information that contains rumors. Some of these rumors may cause social confusion. Hence, it is necessary that a system is created to prevent the spread of such rumors. In this study, the meaning of “rumor” is defined as information of which truth or falsity is unknown or suspicious. Further, the characteristics of the “rumors” being transmitted extensively on Twitter are analyzed. The results reveal three features of such “rumors” in which a large amount of correction information is transmitted on Twitter: (1) The number of correction tweets does not necessarily reflect the number of rumor tweets. (2) There is almost no difference in the burst timing between the rumor tweet and the correction tweet, and both tend to converge in the short term. (3) In all of the eight rumors analyzed in this study, the occurrence of the rumor tweet tended to be one-shot and converged in a short period of time. On the other hand, regarding the trend of the correction tweet, the trend can change depending on the number of the rumor tweet spread on Twitter

Methodological Analysis and Consideration on Practical Research in Special Needs Education Through an Analysis of Research Papers Published in the Japanese Journal of Special Education

    No full text
The purpose of this study was to analyze “practical research” published in “the Japanese Journal of Special Education,” and to consider strategies to compile various practices in various fields including educational environments into a paper not only as practical report but also as practical research supported by theoretical considerations based on hypotheses and evidence, looking back on the past and aiming at new deepening of the “practical research” in the “Japanese Journal of Special Education.” Based on the analyses, we summarized and discussed the practical research as follows : an “experimental” approach using the single subject design based on methodologies which enable to focus on variables and show certain quantitative evidence in practices, and a “naturalistic” approach in which various and multi-layered factors existing in daily events are explained by descriptive data

We performed the education of disaster prevention for abnormal weather and earthquake writing newspaper of postcard size. From this practical education, it was clear that junior high school students could easily recognize disaster in our life and acquire strong consciousness for disaster prevention

The Landscape of Wooburn and its Heritage

The term “Ferme Ornée,” meaning an ornamental farm, is coined by a garden theorist Stephen Switzer, who defines the key aspect of this style of garden design, drawing on Horace, as utile dulti, or mingling of pleasure with productivity. Itʼs a space of bucolic ideal influenced by a reinterpretation of the classéical world of Georgics by another Roman poet Virgil. The first and a prototypal “Ferme Ornée” is Wooburn Farm in Surrey which was laid out by Philip Southcote in 1734-35, and then not a few “Ferme Ornée” had appeared from the mid-18th Century. But the agricultural revolution and the French Revolution uncovered their fictionality, and they gradually declined and began to be replaced by Model Farms. Although in the 1790s Wooburn was transferred to a practical scientific farm, it has established no small influence on modern gardens and farms. This paper discusses first the details of Southcoteʼs Wooburn, and then, focusing on the relation between pleasure and productivity, examines the heritage of this “Ferme Ornée” to later periods
