Investigation of the Effectiveness of Earthquake Disaster Prevention Drill in a Kindergarten
In this report, to find a method to verify the effectiveness of the disaster education, we attempted to extract the effects of the disaster education through the analysis of children’s images during the evacuation drill, their words and actions during the review activity, and interviews with the caregivers. The results of this study suggest that there is a possibility of using this tool not only for evaluation from the viewpoint of teachers, such as through questionnaires, but also for verification of effectiveness through analysis of video of children recordings and comments
Progress of Educational Reform in Vietnam and Current State of Physical Education in Elementary Schools
This study clarified the changes after the 2018 educational reform in Vietnam and the current state of physical education practice through interviews and class observations in a school. As a result, it became clear that in the 2018educational reform, educational methods such as group learning and evaluation modeled on the community of learning (Sato, 2012), as well as interdisciplinary lesson research were carried out. Furthermore, it was clarified that educational content centered on improving the competency of subjects common was practiced. In addition, it was suggested that the contents of this reform were spread throughout the country through workshops held for teachers, lectures before the semester, and examinations to spread these contents and methods. In addition, in the physical education department, common goals and group work class methods for each subject were practiced and changes due to the reform were strongly visible. On the other hand, in Vietnam, the situation of sports facilities such as grounds and gymnasiums are not well-developed, and there are significant differences between schools. Therefore, line up and gymnastics are emphasized as basic movements up to junior high school. Also, as a physical education subject, the acquisition of skills was emphasized
Examination of a Comprehensive and Compulsory Science Subject for the First Year of High School : Issues and Hearings in Pre-Service Teacher Training
The subject of science of senior high school is divided into four areas : physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science, and students who study all four are rare. There has been a suggestion that the lack of an environment for integrated and cross-disciplinary learning of the four areas may be due to the situation in teacher training, where science teachers are anxious to teach areas different from their own specialty. Therefore, surveys and roundtable discussions were conducted among professors and students of teacher training faculties. We concluded that there is no reluctance to improve the situation stated above in the teacher training. This survey was a pilot study, limited in both quality and quantity, and a larger-scale survey is needed in the future
Consequences of China’s Civil War and the Chinese Communist Party’s State Establishment and Government Concept
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to develop a plan in 1948 to establish and run the new state, emphasizing land reform. The Common Program adopted when establishing the People’s Republic of China assured universal suffrage, People’s Congresses at every level, and government organizations at every level, but this was contingent on the completion of land reform. Universal suffrage would consolidate the results of the revolution (the seizure of power by the exploited class) after land reform had thoroughly destroyed the power base of the “landlords and rich farmers” and the “exploited class” had completely seized power. Such a vision had commonality with governance that was realized after the correction of the “far-left phenomenon” of January-February 1948. Given the structure of the ruling system at the end of China’s Civil War and the similarities with the People’s Congress, it is necessary to reposition the Common Program. It was not set up to demonstrate that the new state and government would be constituted and run unitedly but to advocate that the state and the government had legitimacy through “the support of all the people” where the “class enemy” could seize power if the universal suffrage was held before the reform
