    An Analysis of the Application of the Principle of Balance in the Lease Agreement of the Pinisi Toba Kenzo 2 Vessel on Lake Toba Based on the Provisions of the Civil Code

    The application of the principle of balance in lease agreements to create equality in the rights and obligations of the parties so that there is no domination or pressure on either party. This study aims to analyze the application of the principle of balance in the lease agreement for the Pinisi Toba Kenzo 2 ship, including the provisions used, its impact on the parties, and efforts to resolve any imbalances in the agreement. The research method used in writing this thesis is normative legal research supported by field research. This research is descriptive in nature with a legislative and conceptual approach. The types of research data are primary and secondary data obtained from field studies and literature studies. Data collection was carried out through document studies and interview guidelines that were compiled and analyzed using qualitative methods with deductive conclusions. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that, first, the provisions for determining the lease agreement for the Pinisi Toba Kenzo 2 ship do not meet the principle of balance based on three important aspects of the agreement, namely the position of the parties in the agreement, the existence of agreement content that is not set out in a written document, and the existence of an unbalanced implementation of the agreement by the ship owner. Second, the application of the principle of balance in the agreement is based on the balanced position of the parties and the equal distribution of the parties' rights and obligations in the agreement. Third, efforts to resolve disputes arising from imbalances in the Pinisi Toba Kenzo 2 ship charter agreement can be pursued through non-litigation channels with a mutually beneficial final decision (win-win solution) and through litigation channels with a final decision (win-lose).184 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Background: Female androgenetic alopecia (FAGA) is the leading cause of chronic hair loss in women and often impairs quality of life. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a systemic inflammatory marker implicated in FAGA pathogenesis. Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn. leaf extract contains bioactive compounds with anti-inflammatory potential, making it a candidate therapy for FAGA. Objective: To analyze the effect of 10% nanoparticle serum of hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn.) leaf extract on the NLR and changes in hair shaft count in FAGA. Subjects and Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental clinical trial with a pretest-posttest design involving 42 FAGA subjects aged ≥18 years. Baseline data were recorded, and measurements of the NLR and hair shaft count were taken before and after administration of the 10% nanoparticle serum of hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn.) leaf extract for 9 weeks. Data were analyzed descriptively, followed by the Shapiro–Wilk test for normality, the paired T-test for changes in NLR, and repeated-measures ANOVA for changes in hair shaft count. All results were analyzed using statistical software, with a p-value <0.05 considered statistically significant. Results: The majority of FAGA subjects were within the 36–45-year age range, with most presenting Ludwig grade I severity (73.8%). The findings demonstrated that administration of 10% nanoparticle serum of hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn.) leaf extract resulted in a statistically significant reduction in the NLR (p<0.001) and a significant increase in hair shaft count (p<0.001). No adverse effects were observed among subjects following 9 weeks of serum application. Conclusion: The use of 10% nanoparticle serum of hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn.) leaf extract effectively reduced the NLR and improved hair shaft count without inducing any adverse effects.102 PagesTesis Magiste

    Cosmetics in general, which are circulated by business actors, are circulated in accordance with the provisions stipulated by the Center for Drug and Food Control. However, there are also cosmetics circulating that do not comply with established standards or are also called illegal cosmetics. As for what makes the problem in this research, what legal arrangements apply and what are the factors of business actors selling illegal cosmetics in Medan in terms of a criminological perspective and how the countermeasures are made by the Center for Drug and Food Control in Medan in dealing with business actors who sell illegal cosmetics. This type of research is classified in the type of Empiric juridical research, because in this study the researcher directly conducts research in the field in order to provide a complete and clear picture of the problem being studied. This research was conducted at the Center for Drug and Food Control in Medan. For data collection tools, researchers used interviews, questionnaires and literature studies.     Mangrove forests are generally found along the coast in the tidal zone and are known to be the only woody halophytes. Mangrove forests are the most efficient and productive carbon sinks. As a result of the increasing rate of deforestation and degradation, mangroves produce substantial carbon emissions and contribute to most greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The objectives of this study were to determine the success rate of Rhizophora apiculata mangrove planting in October to December 2022, analyze the structure and composition of natural and restoration mangrove forests, and calculate the total carbon stock and carbon dioxide gas flux in natural and restoration mangrove forests. The planting method was carried out by inserting in the vacant part of the rehabilitation area, data collection of general forest structure variations was carried out by means of a non-destructive census by measuring the diameter, height, and species found as a whole, to calculate the value of carbon stocks using the allometric equation with DBH> 5cm in natural forests and restoration forests, CO2 gas flux data collection methods were measured using the static closed chamber method. The percentage of success rate of planting carried out is 67.5% of the total 200 seedlings planted. The species found in natural forests are Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora stylosa, Scyphiphora hydrophyllacea, and Sonneratia alba with a total of 134 individuals with tree levels found while in restoration forests are Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora stylosa, Scyphiphora hydrophyllacea, Sonneratia alba, Acacia leptocarpa, and Nypa fruticans with a total of 130 individuals with tree levels found. The total carbon stock value found in the natural forest was 10.75 mg/ha and the total carbon stock in the restoration forest was 6.51 mg/ha. Total soil carbon stocks in natural and restoration forests were 2,345 MgC/ha. The largest value of dead wood carbon was found in transect 2, which was 14.50 mg/ha in natural forest and 6.46 mg/ha in restoration forest. The highest average CO2 flux during the dry season was found in the natural forest at high tide of 1.000 mgCO2/m2/h and in the rainy season the highest average flux was found in the natural forest at high tide of 959 mgCO2/m2/h.46 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Analysis of Noise-Induced Hearing Loss in Military Personnel Assessed by Audiometry

    Introduction: High noise exposure in military personnel due to operational activities has the potential to cause noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), impacting the quality of life and performance of soldiers. Methods: This study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach involving 40 military personnel. Audiometric examination was conducted using calibrated equipment to detect NIHL. Demographic data and compliance levels in the use of hearing protection devices (HPD) were also collected. Results: Statistical analysis showed no significant relationship between gender and NIHL (p=0.338), but significant associations were found between age (p=0.005), length of service (p<0.001), and compliance with HPD usage (p<0.001) with NIHL. All soldiers with a length of service ≥5 years and age ≥40 years experienced NIHL. High compliance with HPD use reduced the risk of NIHL. Conclusion: There are significant relationships between age, length of service, and compliance with hearing protection device usage and noise-induced hearing loss in military personnel.     Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) that causes morbidity and mortality is Acute Myocardial Infarction with ST Segment Elevation (AMI-EST). The course of IMA-EST can lead to complications in the form of Major Cardiovascular Events (MCEs). The ratio of neutrophils to High-Density Lipoprotein (neutrophil-HDL) is a biomarker for cardiovascular disease, and conditions the balance between inflammation and the protective effects of lipids. Objective: To determine whether there is an association between neutrophil to high-density lipoprotein ratio and MCEs in AMI-EST. Subjects and Methods: This study was an observational analytic study conducted with a cross-sectional approach on 90 patients in the MCEs group and 90 patients who did not have MCEs. All study subjects underwent anamnesis, and laboratory examination. Then the neutrophil-HDL ratio value was calculated. The relationship between neutrophil-HDL ratio and major cardiovascular events in acute myocardial infarction with ST segment elevation was analyzed using the Chi-Square test and was significant (p50) or Shapiro Wilk (n0.205, 3 (3.3%) patients had MCEs, while 90 patients (100.0%) did not have MCEs. This difference was statistically significant (p = 0.0001; OR = 31.00; 95% CI: 10.184 - 94.365; Chi Square test). Conclusion: There is an association between neutrophil-HDL ratio and the incidence of MCEs in acute myocardial infarction with ST-segment elevation undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention.81 PagesTesis Magiste

    This study discusses the juridical analysis of perpetrators of aggravated assault crimes for granting legal restitution arrangements for victims of criminal acts (A study of Medan District Court decision No. 1127/Pid.B/2023/PN Mdn and Medan High Court decision No. 1388/PID/2023/PT MDN). (1) How are the legal provisions that are for granting restitution legal arrangements for victims of criminal acts according to Indonesian law; (2) how evidence is presented under criminal procedure law and related evidence is related to the elements of the criminal act of aggravated assault crimes; (3) How do differ judges' considerations in sentencing perpetrators who have been commit criminal acts aggravated assault crimes for granting legal restitution arrangements for victims of criminal acts a study of Medan district court decision No. 1127/Pid.B/2023/PN Mdn and Medan High Court Decision No. 1388/PID/2023/PT MDN. This research employs a normative legal research method, utilizing both legislative and case approaches. Data was obtained through a literature study that was analyzed deductively. The results of the study show that cases of criminal abuse cause serious injury in society, and the limited application of restitution as a form of restoration of victims' rights in the Indonesian criminal justice system. Restitution is the right of victims to restoration as legal protection under Indonesian law. The panel of judges must take this into account when passing a verdict. The proof of the element of aggravated assault crimes is based on (opzet dolus directus), criminal liability (mens rea). Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code concerning valid evidence can prove that the perpetrator consciously and freely caused aggravated assault crimes to the victim. This is fulfilled because there are no justifiable and/or exculpatory reasons that can eliminate criminal liability. The difference in consideration between the panel of judges at the Medan District Court focused on the formal aspects of proof and justification of the elements of the offense, while the panel of judges at the Medan High Court focused on the elements of intent and the provision of restitution and assessed the existence of negligence in the imposition of criminal penalties and provided considerations that focused more on the protection of the victim's rights.132 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Fixed orthodontic treatment takes a long time which causes the orthodontic wire to be in continuous contact with the unstable oral cavity environment and causing corrosion. One of the factors that triggers corrosion and surface roughness of orthodontic wire is the use of mouthwash. Fragrant pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) mouthwash tends to have minimal side effects and can act as a corrosion inhibitor so that it can be used as an alternative mouthwash. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of fragrant pandan leaf mouthwash (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) at concentrations 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.4% on the corrosion rate and surface roughness of wire that immersed for 7, 14 and 21 days. This type of research is a laboratory experimental study. The sample of this study was a stainless steel orthodontic wire with a diameter of 0.016 inches and a length of 5 cm. The samples were divided into 15 groups, which is orthodontic wires immersed in artificial saliva, 0.2% chlorhexidine, fragrant pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) mouthwash 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.4% for 7, 14 and 21 days. The corrosion rate was measured using the weight loss method and surface roughness was measured with a profilometer then tested statistically using One Way Anova. The results of this study indicate that the highest average corrosion rate and roughness were in 0.2% chlorhexidine and the lowest in artificial saliva both at 7, 14 and 21 days of immersion. The conclusion of this study is that fragrant pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) mouthwash with a concentration of 0.4% is more effective in reducing the corrosion rate and surface roughness of stainless steel orthodontic wires than 0.2% chlorhexidine mouthwash.108 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Climate change awareness has been the highest since the ancient Roman era until now in the process of building shopping centers. The use of air conditioning (AC) in Medan City is one of the reasons why temperatures continue to increase and also the lack of green open space (RTH). This encourages the need for environmentally friendly building designs to achieve heat emissions and improve the quality of urban space. The main objective of this study is to design shopping centers and outdoor office areas in Medan City by combining the concept of green buildings, especially the provision of public space and RTH. This research method is through literature studies and direct surveys at the location. The research on this problem is based on a review of data on current RTH needs in Medan City, the contribution of buildings to increasing temperatures, and global trends towards the development of sustainable outdoor shopping centers. The research findings show that outdoor malls designed with natural open spaces, natural ventilation systems, the use of environmentally friendly materials, and rainwater management can reduce the need for AC, improve air quality, and enrich social spaces for the community. Overall, the application of sustainability principles in the design of outdoor mall and offices is an innovative and beneficial approach to solving environmental problems and improving the quality of life of city residents.247 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    The Effect of Workload on Job Hopping Intention in Generation Z Employees with Job Satisfaction as a Moderating Variable

    Generation Z is currently dominating the workforce with unique characteristics, including the tendency to change jobs within a short period of time, also known as job hopping. One of the factors that can affect job hopping intention is workload. This study aims to determine job satisfaction as a moderating variable that can weaken the effect of workload on job hopping intention, and see the descriptive results of these three variables. The research method employed in this research is quantitative correlational method with convenience sampling technique as the sampling method. The number of samples involved in this study were 158 Generation Z employees in Medan city. Data collection technique used is an online questionnaire in the form of google form. The analysis technique used in this study was Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results showed that job satisfaction can moderate the effect of workload on job hopping intention. Based on the results of statistical tests, the significance value obtained is 0.032 <0.05, and the regression coefficient obtained is -0.245, which means that job satisfaction can moderate the weakening effect of workload on job hopping intention. This means that when employees are satisfied in their current job and feel sufficient workload, this will decrease their intention to change jobs.129 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
