The Effect of Different Drying Temperatures and Brewing Times on the Quality of Tea Beverage from Cocoa Pod Husk
The production of dried cocoa beans generates waste in the form of cocoa pod husk, which accounts for up to 75% w/w. Cocoa pod husk can be utilized as an ingredient for herbal beverages rich in antioxidants. This study aimed to determine the effect of different drying temperatures and brewing times on the quality of tea beverage from cocoa pod husk. The research used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors: drying temperature (S): S1 (50°C), S2 (55°C), S3 (60°C), and brewing time (L): L1 (2 minutes), L2 (4 minutes), L3 (6 minutes), L4 (8 minutes). The parameters tested were moisture content, ash content, pH, organoleptic properties (color, aroma, taste, and overall acceptability), and the best treatment test using the deGarmo method. The best tea beverage treatment was further analyzed for antioxidant activity, total phenol content, and microbial contamination (TPC).
The results showed that the variation in drying temperatures had a highly significant effect (P0,05) on aroma. The interaction between drying temperature and brewing time had a highly significant effect (P0,05) on pH and aroma. The best treatment for the cocoa pod husk tea beverage was found to be a drying temperature of 55°C and a brewing time of 6 minutes.83 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
Physiological Response of Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) Batu Ijo Variety to the Application of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and Salicylic Acid
Shallots are horticultural plants that have high nutritional and antioxidant content. Low shallot production is not comparable to increased consumption due to limited irrigation which causes plant responses to water shortages to reduce physiological and morphological aspects of plants. This study aims to analyze the physiological characteristics of Batu Ijo variety shallots to the application of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and salicylic acid in conditions below optimal water content in the soil. This research was conducted at the Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture and the Plant Disease Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra from October 2024 to February 2025. This study used a Factorial Randomized Complite Block Design (RCBD) consisting of 2 treatment factors with 3 replications. The first factor is the application of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (0 g; 10 g). The second factor is the application of salicylic acid (0 mg/L; 25 mg/L; 50 mg/L; 75 mg/L). The results showed that the application of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi at a dose of 10 g significantly increased the superoxide dismutase (SOD) enzyme. The application of salicylic acid at a concentration of 50 mg/L significantly affected the relative water content (RAC) of leaves. The interaction of the application of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi with salicylic acid had no significant effect on all observed variables.86 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
Relationship Between Glasglow Coma Scale (GCS) And Intracerebral Hemorrrhage Volume On Non-Contrast CT Scan Examination At H.Adam Malik General Hospital
Background: Stroke is a disease condition caused by the cessation of blood flow to the brain due to blockage or rupture of blood vessels. The Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score is an accurate standard neurological assessment method and is a predictor of acute intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Early diagnosis of ICH hemorrhage and identifying the etiology of ICH are very important. The most common neuroimaging modalities in acute conditions are non-contrast computer tomography (NCCT) and CT angiography (CTA).
Objective: To analyze the relationship between the GCS and the volume of intracerebral hemorrhage on non-contrast CT scans.
Methods: This study is an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional design conducted at the Haji Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan from September 2024 to March 2025.
Results: The average GCS score was 13.03 + 2.371. Most patients with a good GCS score category were 20 people (66.7%) followed by a moderate category of 6 people (20.0%) and a poor category of 4 people (13.3%). If divided based on the location of bleeding, the average GCS in the lobar location was 12.42 + 3.059 and the average GCS in the non-lobar location was 13.44 + 1.756. The average volume of intracerebral hemorrhage in the study sample was 26.92 + 40.695 ml.
Conclusion: There is a very strong negative correlation between the ADC value on MRI examination of the head with contrast and the consistency of meningioma based on histopathology at Adam Malik Hospital.

The Influence of Corparate Govermance on Emplayee Compliance at PT. Sri Pamela Medika Nusantara (A Study at The Head Office of PT. Sri Pamela Medika Nusantar, Tebing Tinggi City)
This thesis discusses the influence of Good Corporate Governance on employee
compliance at PT. Sri Pamela Medika Nusantara, a subsidiary of PTPN III. Good
Corporate Governance is a corporate governance system aimed at protecting the
interests of stakeholders, namely shareholders and employees. Through Good
Corporate Governance, companies are required to guarantee the rights of employees,
thus employees must comply with company regulations in order to achieve the
company's goals. The method used in writing this thesis is an empirical juridical
research method, which refers to legal norms supported by empirical data. The data
used in this study are primary and secondary data; primary data were collected
through field study techniques, while secondary data were gathered through
literature study techniques. All collected data were then analyzed using descriptive
qualitative methods. The research results show that PT. Sri Pamela Medika
Nusantara has implemented the principles of Good Corporate Governance, which
are reflected in various company regulations. Strong leadership character, training
and education, as well as a reward system are factors that support the
implementation of Good Corporate Governance at PT. Sri Pamela Medika
Nusantara. Unfortunately, not all employees comply with the existing company
regulations due to a lack of understanding of the urgency of Good Corporate
Governance in optimizing company performance. Consequently, employees have the
potential to disrupt company operations, which can significantly impact the
company's reputation and lead to financial losses. Such non-compliance results in
legal sanctions for employees who disregard the company's regulations, which are
based on Good Corporate Governance principles.166 PagesTesis Magiste
The Effect of Using Various Types of Organic Fertilizers on the Growth of Rhizophora apiculata Seedlings in Dusun II, Pulau Sembilan Village, Pangkalan Susu, North Sumatra.
Massive Degradation of mangroves require restoration efforts to restore the
function of the mangrove ecosystem. Restoration is necessary to improve the
potential of the mangrove ecosystem. The type of mangrove that can be developed
in ecosystem restoration efforts is Rhizophora, especially R. apiculata. Mangrove
fertilization plays an important role in supporting mangrove ecosystem restoration
efforts. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying cow
manure, goat manure, chicken manure, and quail manure and without manure on
the growth of Rhizophora apiculata mangrove seedlings. This study was conducted
from October 2023 to January 2024. This study used a Completely Randomized
Design consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications, namely P0 (control/without
fertilizer application), P1 (cow manure 200 g/seedling), P2 (goat manure 200
g/seedling), P3 (chicken manure 100 g/seedling), and P4 (quail manure 50
g/seedling). Observations and data collection were carried out every two weeks for
14 weeks. The parameters observed were seedling height growth, seedling diameter,
number of leaves, seedling dry weight, seedling wet weight, leaf area, temperature,
salinity, rainfall, air humidity and seedling growth rate. The results showed that the
treatment that had the most effect on the growth of height, diameter, number of
leaves, leaf area, wet weight and dry weight of R. apiculata seedlings was the
provision of 100 g/seedling chicken manure.61 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
Participatory-Based Green Open Space Management at Helvetia Village Square, Medan Helvetia Subdistrict, Medan City
Green open space (GOS) plays a vital role in supporting environmental quality and fostering social interaction within urban communities. However, the management of GOS at the Helvetia Village Square in Medan Helvetia Subdistrict faces several challenges, including low levels of community participation, limited government communication, and the absence of a community-based management institution. This study aims to analyze the forms of community participation, identify factors contributing to low engagement, and formulate participatory-based strategies for GOS management. This research employed a quantitative descriptive analysis (frequency distribution and Chi-Square test) and in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Data were collected from 100 respondents, field observations, and relevant stakeholders. The results indicate that only 20% of residents participate, dominated by contributions in the form of labor (6%) and ideas (5%), while 80% do not participate due to weak government outreach, poorly maintained facilities, and the absence of a community management forum. The study identifies three key strategies: (1) organizing routine cleaning and maintenance activities as environmental education; (2) providing collaborative spaces for arts, culture, and community education; and (3) developing plant adoption programs involving residents, communities, and schools. The most feasible short-term strategy is routine community clean-up activities, as they require minimal funding, align with dominant participation patterns, and can be implemented immediately. Overall, strengthening community-based institutions and fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration are essential to achieving more inclusive and sustainable GOS management in Medan Helvetia.106 PagesTesis Magiste

Juridical Analysis on Chemical Castrated Punishment Upon The Perpetrators of Sexual Abuse Toward Children (A Study on the Ruling No. 859/Pid.Sus/2023/Pn.Bjm)
Sexual abuse toward children is done n various ways and purposes illegally; here, the children are victims. The handling of this offense in the criminal legal system still tends to view it from and offense done by the perpetrator. Indonesian govement imposes chemical castrated punishment as a breakthrough to minimize this kind of offense which is increasing. According to Law No. 17/2016 on Child Protection, the implementation of chemical castrated punishment gives order to doctors to do this punishment upon the perpetrator, and it causes problems concerning the aspect of human rights and medical ethics. It can be seen from the Verdict No.859/Pid. Sus/2023/Pn.Bjm which imposes the defendant with additional chemical castrated punishment. The formulae of the problem are as follows: how about the regulation about chemical castrated punishment upon the perpetrator of sexual abuse in indonesia, how about the problem of this punishment for the perpetrator of sexual abuse toward children, and how about the judge’s legal consideration in imposing this kind of punishment upon the perpetrator specified in the Verdict No.859/Pid. Sus/2023/Pn. Bjm. This research uses juridical normative research method by analyzing legal principle by conducting library research. The research also uses descriptive method, ad the data are analyzed by using descriptive qualitative research. The result of the research on the Verdict No. 859/Pid.Sus/2023/Pn.Bjm suggests that the judge states that it has been proven that the defendant, a teacher, committed violence by forcing a minor to do sexual intercourse with him. The additional punishment, chemical castrated punishment, is considered controversial; it will weigh down the punishment of the perpetrator. The advantage of this type of punishment lies on the aspects of protection, prevention from recurrent event, and fulfillment of the sense of justice. It is the government’s seriousness in protecting children and upholding justice which has to be matched with protection for the perpetrator’s rights. The absurdity in its implementation, the potency of the change in the perpetrator’s condition during his detention, the unpreparedness of the execution agency, and the conflict of ethics with health care providers can cause the risk of legal uncertainty and the potency of violating human rights for the perpetrator which has to be protected during the legal process in the implementation of sanction, without ignoring the principle of justice and humanity in implementing chemical castrated punishment upon the perpetrator, and also restoring and protecting the children as the victims.141 PagesTesis Magiste
Factors Related to Musculoskeletal Disorders among Convection Workers in Small Industry Centers Medan City
Ergonomics is a field that studies how to adapt work to workers rather than forcing their bodies to fit their work.
