Relationship Between HbA1c Levels and The Incidence and Degree of Hearing Impairment in Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 Patients Based on Pure Tone Audiometry Examination
Background: Hearing loss associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) can occur because of the damaging effects of hyperglycemia on the cochlea both anatomically and physiologically. HbA1c levels were found to have a positive correlation with the incidence of hearing loss in T2DM patients. Pure tone audiometry examination can be used to assess the picture of hearing loss in T2DM patients.
Objective: To prove that there is a relationship between HbA1c levels and the incidence and degree of hearing loss in DMT2 patients through pure tone audiometry examination.
Method: An analytical observational study was conducted at Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital USU Medan with a sample of 55 DMT2 patients who met the inclusion criteria. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, routine ENT examinations, HbA1c examinations, and pure tone audiometry.
Results: There was no significant relationship between HbA1c levels and the incidence and degree of hearing loss assessed by pure tone audiometry.
Conclusion: There was no significant relationship between HbA1c levels and the incidence of hearing loss assessed by pure tone audiometry, however, the proportion of sensorineural hearing loss was higher in subjects with uncontrolled T2DM compared to those with controlled T2DM. There was no significant relationship between HbA1c levels and the degree of hearing loss assessed by pure tone audiometry, with mild sensorineural hearing loss being the most dominant type in T2DM patients.80 PagesTesis Magiste
Potential of Bacillus thuringiensis from Oil Palm Plantation Soil in Batubara as a Mosquito Larva Control Agent
The increasing resistance of Aedes aegypti and Culex sp. mosquitoes to chemical insecticides necessitates the search for environmentally friendly alternatives. This study evaluated the toxicological potential of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) isolated from the soil of oil palm plantations in Batubara Regency, North Sumatra, which is a local isolate. Mortality of Ae.aegypti and Culex sp. larvae was evaluated by the occurrence of larval midgut damage after exposure to the Bt isolate. The test was carried out using instar III and IV larvae by administering a suspension of Bt liquid culture from three different localities coded BTKS 01, BTKS 05, and BTKS 07. The percentage of mortality was observed for 24, 48, 72, and 96 hours. Additionally, pathological examinations of larval midgut tissues were conducted to assess internal damage. Results showed that some isolates caused high mortality (>70%) and serious damage to the intestinal epithelium. The results of this study indicate that Bt local to oil palm plantations in Batubara District has high effectiveness against mosquito larvae and has potential as an environmentally friendly bioinsecticide. Management of Services and Nursing Care for Clients with Anxiety Pre Operative Sectio Caesarea through Thought Stopping Techniques at Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital
Pregnancy is an important phase in a woman's life, where physical and emotional
changes occur, and Sectio Caesarea surgery becomes a necessary option to ensure
the safety of mother and baby. Many pregnant women begin to feel anxious before
undergoing Sectio Caesarea surgery. Anxiety arises since getting information that
the process of labor cannot be done normally. The purpose of this study was to
obtain an overview of nursing care in patients with preoperative sectio caesarea
anxiety problems at Prof. Dr. Chairudin P. Lubis Hospital. This study was
conducted on first-time pregnant women and given thought stopping therapy by
implementing three therapy sessions starting with assessment, analysis of nursing
diagnoses, nursing plans, nursing implementation, and nursing evaluation. The
result of this study is that the therapy carried out into three stages greatly affects
the client's anxiety where the client's anxiety in facing preoperative sectio caesarea
slowly decreases with the implementation of thought stopping therapy. In the
application of thought stopping therapy the client does it cooperatively with the first
session the client is still unfamiliar but is able to recognize or identify his anxiety
and in the second session the client feels the therapy provided gradually begins to
reduce his anxiety, then in the third session the client looks more cooperative and
gets used to doing therapy and looks calmer client to overcome his anxiety. The
client feels satisfied with the therapeutic actions he has taken because he can

Morphological and Agronomic Changes as a Result of Gamma Irradiation on Black Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] Detam-2 Variety in the M1 Generation
Black soybean originates from Asia, specifically China, where it is considered a potential source of functional food. Some countries such as Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan have begun to research the functions of black soybeans which are not only used as raw materials for soy sauce but for burgers, ice cream, salads and several other food preparations. This study aims to provide morphological responses and agronomic responses in the M1 generation through gamma irradiation treatment. This research was conducted in the field of Gang Susuk VIII no. 3, Padang Bulan, Selayang I, Medan City, North Sumatra with an altitude of ± 32 meters above sea level. This research was conducted from December 2024 to May 2025. This study used the Randomized Group Design method with a single factor, namely the dose of gamma rays G0 (0 Gy), G1 (50 Gy), G2 (100 Gy), G3 (150 Gy), G4 (200 Gy), and G5 (250 Gy). The results showed that gamma irradiation treatment irradiation treatment had a significant effect on several characters such as plant height, number of leaves, flowering age, harvesting age, number of productive branches, number of filled pods, seed weight and 100 seed weight, but did not have a significant effect on other characters such as stem diameter, flower color, number of stomata, stomatal length, stomata width, and number of empty pods.94 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
Characteristics of Pediatric Patients with Congenital Heart Disease Undergoing Transcatheter Defect Closure at Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan
Introduction. Transcatheter closure has become an increasingly common non-surgical intervention for Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), and Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). However, data on the characteristics of patients undergoing transcatheter closure in North Sumatra remain limited. Objective. This study aimed to describe the demographic and clinical characteristics of pediatric patients undergoing transcatheter closure procedures. Methods. A retrospective descriptive study was conducted using medical records of pediatric patients with congenital heart disease who underwent transcatheter closure at Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan. Patient characteristics including sex, age, nutritional status, clinical presentation, defect type and size, and occluder device type were analyzed. Results. A total of 108 patients met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The majority were female (54,6%) and aged 12-59 months (50,9%), with normal nutritional status (52.8%). VSD was the most common defect (68,5%), predominantly of moderate size (57,4%). Most patients were classified as ROSS/NYHA class II (70,4%). The AMVO occluder was the most frequently used device (67,6%), with size 8/6 being the most common. Conclusion. Most pediatric patients undergoing transcatheter closure were female, aged 1–3 years, had normal nutritional status, and presented with moderate VSD classified as ROSS/NYHA class II. The Effect of Adding Natural Pahae Zeolite on the Mechanical Properties of Composite Boards Based on Areca Nut Fiber with Polyester Resin
This research was conducted to evaluate the effect of incorporating natural Pahae zeolite
on the mechanical and physical properties of composite boards fabricated from areca nut
fiber and polyester resin. Prior to use, the zeolite was physically activated at 400 °C for 4
hours, sieved to a particle size of 149 µm (100 mesh), and characterized using the XRF
method. The composite boards were produced by combining polyester resin as the matrix
with areca nut fiber and natural Pahae zeolite as fillers, in the following composition ratios:
(60:40:0)%, (60:30:10)%, (60:20:20)%, (60:10:30)%, and (60:0:40)%. The molding
process was carried out using a hot press at 100 °C for 30 minutes. Characterization
included mechanical testing (Modulus of Rupture/MoR, Modulus of Elasticity/MoE, and
compressive strength), physical testing (density, moisture content, and water absorption), and microstructural observation through SEM-EDS analysis. The results showed that the
addition of natural Pahae zeolite as a filler improved the physical properties but reduced
the mechanical properties of the composite boards in accordance with SNI 03-2105-2006
and JIS A 5908-2003 standards. Therefore, natural Pahae zeolite demonstrates strong
potential as a filler for enhancing the performance of composite boards based on areca nut

Analysis of The Determination of The Regional Service Center of Food Corp Agricultural Production in Serdang Bedagai Regency
Serdang Bedagai Regency is one of the regions in North Sumatra that has
great potential in the development of food crops, especially rice and crops. The
agricultural sector in Serdang Bedagai Regency is the main livelihood of the
community and is the mainstay of the economic sector. However, Serdang Bedagai
Regency has not determined the service center of the food crop agricultural
production center area to make it easier for agricultural actors to determine
downstream products. This study aims to determine the service center of
agricultural production centers in the sub-sector of food crops in Serdang Bedagai.
The method used in this study is descriptive using secondary data sourced from the
relevant agencies in Serdang Bedagai and the Central Bureau of Statistics Serdang
Bedagai. The analysis methods used are Location Quotient (LQ), localization
coefficient, Guttman scalogram index analysis, Marshall centrality index analysis,
and gravity index analysis. The results of this study indicate the distribution of the
level of spatial localization of basic food crop commodities spread across all
districts in Serdang Bedagai Regency; and the determination of service centers in

The Phenomenon of Hikonka in the drama “Mada Kekkon Dekinai Otoko” by Ozaki Masaya
This thesis discusses the phenomenon of hikonka in the Drama Mada Kekkon Dekinai Otoko by Ozaki Masaya. The study aims to analyze the depiction of hikonka in the Drama Mada Kekkon Dekinai Otoko and identify the factors that influence the main character, Kuwano Shinsuke, to choose not to marry. Hikonka refers to an individual's decision not to marry based on personal choice. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method. The theoretical framework includes phenomenology, the sociology of literature, and the Two-Factor Theory. The finding show that Kuwano Shinsuke, a 53-year-old single man, is portrayed as an individual who avoids taking risks, is deeply absorbed in his work as an architect, is self-motivated, tends toward anti-romanticism, and prefers to live alone. The factors that influenced the decision are divided into two, namely motivator (internal) and hygiene (external) factors. The motivating factors underlying this finding are independence, freedom of life, and self-development. Interpretation Analysis Between Land Slope, Rainfall, and Number of Bunches on the Productivity of Oil Palm Plants (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) at Silau Dunia Plantation, PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional I
Palm oil is an agricultural commodity that has an important role in the
Indonesian economy. Even though it has great potential, palm oil productivity in
Indonesia still faces various challenges, including climate factors, land
management and topographic conditions.This study aims to determine and analyze
the influence of rainfall, rainy days, number of bunches, and land slope on oil palm
(Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) productivity at Silau Dunia Plantation, PT. Perkebunan
Nusantara IV Regional 1, from February to March 2025. This study uses secondary
data available at the plantation office and directorate office administration,
including TBS production data and number of bunches for the years 2015, 2016,
2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, monthly rainfall and rainy
days data for the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and
2023, as well as land slope data in the form of digital elevation model (DEM) data
obtained from a lidar-equipped drone owned by PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV
Regional 1, processed using the QGIS mapping software tool. The analysis methods
used were simple linear regression analysis, multiple linear regression analysis,
and correlation analysis. The model was tested for validity using classical
assumption tests, including normality tests, heteroscedasticity tests,
multicollinearity tests, and autocorrelation tests using SPSS v.25 for Windows
statistical software. The results of this study indicate that rainfall and rainy days
have no significant effect on oil palm productivity in the Silau Dunia plantation.
The number of bunches has a significant effect on increasing oil palm productivity
at the Silau Dunia plantation. Rainfall, rainy days, and the number of bunches
simultaneously have a significant effect on oil palm productivity at the Silau Dunia
plantation. The correlation between rainfall, rainy days, and the number of bunches
has a strong, moderate, and strong influence on oil palm productivity at the Silau
Dunia plantation. The correlation between land slope has a strong influence on oil
palm productivity at the Silau Dunia plantation. These results indicate that the
number of bunches is the primary factor determining productivity, while rainfall

Juridical Analysis of Victims of Personal Data Misuse by Online Lending Parties under Indonesian Positive Law (A Study of Decision No. 238/Pid.Sus/2022/Pn Jkt. Utr)
Illegal online lending in Indonesia has raised serious concerns, especially regarding the misuse of personal data that causes material and immaterial harm to victims. This study examines the types of criminal acts often found in illegal online lending, the legal protection available to victims under Indonesian law, and the judicial considerations in Decision Number 238/Pid.Sus/2022/PN Jkt. Utr. The research uses a normative juridical method with a descriptive approach, applying statutory, case, and conceptual analyses. Data were obtained from primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials through literature and document review, and analyzed qualitatively with deductive reasoning. The results indicate that criminal acts in illegal online lending usually involve predatory lending, fraud, threats, and misuse of personal data. Victim protection is formally provided under the Criminal Code, the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, the Personal Data Protection Law, and OJK Regulation No. 10/2022. However, enforcement remains weak, particularly against illegal operators outside OJK’s authority. In Decision Number 238/Pid.Sus/2022/PN Jkt. Utr, the court applied the Criminal Code and the ITE Law, but not the PDP Law, as it was not yet in force. This shows the need for future application of the PDP Law to strengthen victim protection and ensure the recovery of victims’ rights.195 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
