Isolation And Identification Of Flavonoids Compound From The Bark Of Pirdot (Saurauia vulcani Korth.)
Isolation and identification of flavonoid compound from the bark of Pirdot (Saurauia vulcani Korth.) had been carried out through the maceration extraction stage with methanol solvent. The methanol extract dissolved with ethyl acetate was separated and concentrated. The concentrated extract of ethyl acetate was dissolved with methanol and partition extracted with n-hexane. The methanol layer is then evaporated until all the methanol has evaporated. The concentrated methanol extract was then analyzed by TLC, then separated by column chromatography with silica gel as the stationary phase and chloroform: ethyl acetate (90:10, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40, 50:50, 40:60, 30:70, 20:80, and 10:90) v/v as the mobile phase. The second fraction with a value of Rf = 0.55 uses chloro: ethyl acetate (30:70) v/v. Based on the results analyzed with a UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, it shows that there are two absorption bands with a wavelength (λmax) of 311 nm in band I and 272 nm in band II. The results of FT-IR spectrum analysis show the presence of O-H, CH sp3, C=O, C=C aromatic, C-C-O, CH sp2 groups. The results of 1H-NMR spectrum analysis show the presence of H-3 protons at δ = 6.7336 (ppm). Infrared (FT-IR), and Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrophotometry (¹H- NMR). Community empowerment through the tourism sector in Denai Lama Village is a
strategic effort to improve the welfare and quality of life of the local community.
The abundant tourism potential has not been optimally utilized, which can become
a new source of income for the community in Denai Lama Village. The purpose of
this study is to formulate an effective and sustainable empowerment strategy. The
method used is a qualitative approach with participatory analysis techniques,
which involve the community in every stage of program planning and
implementation. The results of the study indicate that the development of tourist
villages not only increases community income but also creates jobs and
strengthens local cultural identity. The proposed strategy includes skills training,
tourism destination promotion, and collaboration with the private sector to attract

Local Community Strategy in Developing Ulos Motif as A Typical Souvenir of Tarutung in Pancurnapitu Village, Siatas Barita District
This study aims to analyze the strategies of local communities in Pancur Napiti Village, Siatas Barita District, in an effort to develop ulas motifs. Ulos, a traditional Batak fabric, has significant cultural and economic significance, and its preservation is crucial amid the modernization trend. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, in-depth interviews with weavers, traditional leaders, artisans, and other stakeholders, and documentation. The results of the study show that the strategies implemented by local communities involve several main aspects, namely: the preservation of traditional motifs through the inheritance of knowledge from the old to the young generation, motif innovation while maintaining the identity of the ulos, the use of local resources in the production process, and the development of marketing networks both conventionally and digitally. Challenges include the lack of interest of the younger generation to continue the weaving tradition and limited access to the wider market. However, with the collaboration between the community, local governments, and related institutions, the potential for the development of ulos motifs in Pancur Napitu Village is still very large. Influencer Guido Punxgoaran's Strategy in Building Interest and Political Response Among Followers in The 2024 Legislative Elections
This study aims to analyze the strategy of Pematang Siantar influencer, Guido Punxgoaran, in building the interest, attention, and political response of his followers in the 2024 Legislative Election. The role of influencers on social media, especially Instagram, is increasingly significant in shaping public opinion and political behavior, especially among followers who actively consume digital content. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews with Guido Punxgoaran's followers, observations of social media upload content, and relevant documentation during the 2024 Legislative Election period. The results show that Guido Punxgoaran uses a personal, persuasive, and sustainable political communication strategy through visual content, light but meaningful narratives, and consistent upload intensity. This strategy is able to build followers' interest and attention towards certain political issues and figures, and encourage responses in the form of interaction, emotional involvement, and political stances. This study concludes that influencers have a significant role in shaping the dynamics of followers' attention and political response on social media, making the presence of influencers a factor that needs to be taken into account in contemporary political communication practices.104 pagesSkripsi Sarjan

Analysis of the Patron-Client phenomenon in the election of Pangulu Nagori (Village Head) in Bahapal Raya, Raya Sub District, Simalungun, North Sumatra in 2023
This thesis examines the phenomenon of patron-client relations in the election process of
Pangulu Nagori (village head) in Bahapal Raya, Raya Subdistrict, Simalungun Regency,
North Sumatra. The main focus of this research is the victory of Agus Harianto Purba in
the 2023 Pilpanag (village head election), which was significantly influenced by the
strong patron-client relationship between him as the patron and the local community as
clients. This study employs a qualitative approach using descriptive-analytical methods
to illustrate how Agus Harianto Purba utilized the patron-client relationship as a strategy
to secure his victory in the Pangulu Nagori election in Bahapal Raya.
The findings reveal that the practice of patron-client politics at the village level serves as
an effective strategy for gaining community support, especially in economically
dependent areas where local actors possess power and resources. This phenomenon
indicates a tendency toward transactional politics that may weaken the quality of local
democracy. However, it also reflects the deeply rooted social structures and cultural
norms within the community. This study concludes that the patron-client relationship was

Test of Blade Variation on Cassava Sawut Tool (Manihot esculenta) Vertical Model
Cassava grown in Indonesia is known by the Latin name Manihot. Esculenta can be processed into various food products where cassava is widely used as cassava chips by cutting or thinly sliced manually or by using a cutting machine. The purpose of this study is to test the variation of the shape of ordinary blades, sawut blades, and wave blades on a vertical model cassava sauting machine against the observed parameters such as the effective capacity of the tool, the percentage of material left behind, and the yield. The results showed that the average effective capacity of the tool in the experiment using the blade was 42.65 kg/hour, on the wave blade 95.97 kg/hour, and on the ordinary blade 116.66 kg/hour. The average yield value on the blade was 18.4 %, on the wave blade 25.63 %, and on the ordinary blade 64.13 %. Carbon Dioxide Eflus in Various Land Covers in Karang Gading and Langkat Timur Laut Wildlife Reserve (KGLTLWR) in North Sumatra
Mangrove forests play an important ecological role in mitigating climate change by functioning as effective carbon sinks through the sequestration and storage of carbon in biomass and sediments. Land cover change in mangrove ecosystems can alter soil structure and enhance carbon release into the atmosphere, contributing to increased carbon dioxide (CO₂) flux. This study aimed to analyze the level of CO₂ flux across different land cover types and to examine the differences between the rainy and dry seasons in the Karang Gading and Langkat Timur Laut Wildlife Reserve, North Sumatra, Indonesia. CO₂ flux measurements were conducted using the static closed chamber method across six land cover types: natural mangrove forest, restored mangrove forest, mixed agriculture, rice fields, oil palm plantations, and ponds. Data were analyzed using One Way ANOVA and paired sample t-test. The highest average CO₂ flux during the rainy season was found in natural mangrove forests (1,765 mg m⁻ h⁻¹), while the lowest occurred in pond areas (620 mg m⁻² h⁻¹). In the dry season, the highest flux was recorded in oil palm plantations (957 mg m⁻² h⁻¹), and the lowest remained in pond areas (417 mg m⁻² h⁻¹). The ANOVA results indicated no significant differences in CO₂ flux among land cover types (p > 0.05), whereas the paired sample t-test revealed a significant seasonal difference only in rice fields (p < 0.05). Seasonal variation in rainfall and microclimatic conditions are suggested to influence CO₂ flux dynamics. The findings provide valuable baseline information to support mangrove ecosystem management and carbon mitigation strategies, particularly in the context of blue carbon initiatives and climate change policies.54 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
Analysis of the Success Rate of Turtle Hatching Landing on Pandan Island, Pieh Island Conservation Area and the Surrounding Sea in West Sumatra Province
Turtles have experienced a decline in population in recent times, and some sarangecies are threatened with extinction. In nature, newly hatched turtles face the threat of death from animals such as crabs, birds, and other reptiles such as monitor lizards. The greatest threat to turtles in Indonesia, as well as throughout the world, is humans. The capture of turtles for their eggs, meat, skin, and shells has reduced the turtle population. According to the IUCN, all turtles are listed in Appendix I of CITES (Convention on International Trade of Endangered Sarangecies). This convention prohibits all international trade in all products derived from turtles, be it eggs, meat, or shells. This study aims to determine the types and hatching rates of turtles and the factors that influence turtle hatching on Pandan Island, the Pieh Island conservation area and the surrounding seas of West Sumatra Province. This study was conducted in March - May 2024. The method used is the quantitative descriptive method with data collection carried out through direct observation to Pandan Island. The results of this study showed that there were 8 nests for 7 consecutive days with the types of turtles that landed were Green Turtles (Chelonia mydas) and Hawksbill Turtles (Eretmohelys imbriata) with a total of 727 eggs and 558 hatchlings successfully hatched with a hatching percentage of 76%. The factors that influence hatching are temperature, depth and diameter of the nest, beach slope, substrate and distance of the tide to the nest. Analysis of Online Food Delivery Trends and Packaging Waste Management Among FKM USU Students
Online food delivery services have become one of the fastest-growing food consumption trends among students, but the use of single-use packaging poses environmental problems in the form of increased waste generation. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of students, their online food delivery purchasing patterns, knowledge levels, attitudes, waste management practices for packaging, and the quantity of online food delivery waste among students at the Faculty of Public Health, University of North Sumatra. The study is a descriptive survey involving 91 respondents selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection using questionnaires via KoboToolbox. The results showed that the majority of respondents were female, with monthly living expenses ranging from > IDR 1,500,000 to 5,000,000 61,5 percent and online food delivery spending of > IDR 80,000 to 500,000 per week 27,5 percent. A total of 57.1 percent of students ordered online food delivery more than 2-14 times per week. The most commonly used packaging types among students were styrofoam 62,6 percent, cardboard/paper boxes 54,9 percent, and plastic wrap 33,0 percent. Most students order online food delivery more than twice a week due to discounts/promotions through the GrabFood, GoFood, and ShopeeFood apps 58 percent. The majority of students have good knowledge 82,4 percent, and 91,2 percent of students have a positive attitude toward online food delivery. Waste management actions (reduce) for packaging waste among most students fall into the “poor” category 52,7 percent. Students are encouraged to reduce the frequency of ordering food through online food delivery services and choose providers that use environmentally friendly packaging, as well as apply the 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to minimize packaging waste from online food delivery.155 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
